It's kind of cute, and simultaneously interesting to see gummies and candies in these kinds of civilian-grade MREs. I mean it's common for a few pieces of candy to be in a soldier's issued meal, we've been doing that since WWII, but name-brand stuff like Skittles and Kellog's gummies is like a morale booster for families that have children during disasters. Candy can go a long way as comfort food for little kids who may be scared or upset by the chaos or unfamiliar surroundings in being evacuated.
This guy can literally eat a pile of dirt and say “Mmmmm, this is Delicious!”

Hi, I’m a Australian army cadet and in our MRE's we put the food inside the heating element, like in the actual bag then all that goes in the cardboard.

You're supposed to put the meal inside the heater pack.. so it heats the whole package evenly. I ate plenty of MRE meals in Iraq when I was active duty in USMC. It could work your way buy will take way longer lol

I think it's cool to see the difference between an MRE for designed for civilians compared to one that is designed for military personnel.

Cause we couldn't survive without junk food. Lol. I'd sooner the military mre. More calories but you can just save some for later. This one does look more enjoyable for kids so that's something to think about if you have kids and are stocking up on mre's. Unhappy kids are worse nightmare in survival situation. I'd only survive 1 day with my 4 kids.... no internet, no junk food.... yeah, I'd be setting myself on fire for sure. Lol

Some military MREs have some of that stuff.. Like Skittles or m&ms or Reese's pieces... One of the breakfast MREs comes with a pop tart and when you open the wrapper it's inside a foil pop tart wrapper
