Great video Muk! I never realized how easy it is to craft a legendary sigil/rune. Here a tip for provisioner tokens; if you do Chak Gerent daily, your guaranteed at least one Chak Egg (NOT THE INFUSION FRIENDS) from the end chest. An npc at the ogre camp waypoint in Tangle Depth will trade you a token for 1 chak egg. Essentially you get guarantee yourself a minimum of one token per day without losing anything (unless you need the Chak Egg for something else).
Btw for people not familiar with provisioner tokens you can get up to 29 tokens per day on your account if u are in rush there is a lot of items u can offer to those provisioner npcs like rare weapons which u can craft or buy on the tp and certain other materials they are also needed for the raid legendary armor.
CAUTION:
Although the runes and sigils are of legendary tier which cannot be salvaged, if you put them into an ascended (or lower tier) piece of gear and leave it in inventory, that gear can STILL BE SALVAGED. It is therefore possible to ACCIDENTALLY SALVAGE or DESTROY that legendary rune/sigil you spent so much gold to make. You have been warned.

If you slot it into ascended gear you cannot lose it since salvaging ascended always gives you back all upgrades. Need to be careful with lower tiers tho.

At first I kept forgetting they existed. So I went and made exactly 1 rune and 1 sigil which stay in my inventory as pure reminders that they exist. Now I'm well on my way to creating the other 6 runes and 7 sigils.
played this game since launch. How in the world has this never been discussed?! I had no idea about this!
My personal take is that only some of the legendary weapons (axe, sword, dagger, etc.) are really worth the effort if you want the stat swapping on the weapon. If you want the shinies then ignore that sentence. If you get legendary armor (or even multiple sets for the different weights), then you can easily pass on the runes. Even exclusive runes like the ones in Tarir are really easy to get 6 of and I'd only make them if you want to have 6 runes in the legendary armory that you can pull from for all characters (which does seem to me like it has some value). Now, I did make 4 legendary sigils because I only have two legendary weapons and making legendary weapons is super expensive and time consuming. Now I just carry the weapons with the stats I want (easy enough to do) and then I can swap their sigils around to try out new builds with ease without have to go buy new sigils each time I want to do a new build. Plus, this means all characters will have sigils with the legendary armory.
Legendary Runes and Armor can be equipped to ascended and even exotic equipment. This is going to be very useful if you never stat swap.
When the Legendary Armory comes out, imagine a full set of runes and sigils, never having to ever again get any new ones for all characters you'll ever have.
I'm not sure, if legendary runes and sigils will be available in the legendary armory, i think Anet will forget it or messes something up. Even if i'd hope it functions out of the box

@@ok_listen basically since the release of legendary armory, any legendary item crafted, be it weapon, trinket, armor or sigils/runes. they are all added to the legendary armory. think of it as a closet that houses all your legendary items and all of your characters can use them all at once. so u can have your guardian and your warrion both using your heavy set of legendary armor at the same time. it is the ultimate quality of life update and convenience. and all you have to do is craft each thing once and that's it.
finished my 7th rune yesterday and got 1 sigill. so hyped for the armory now. :)

I'm interested in how the Legendary Sigil & Rune would react with the Legendary Armory !
In theory, if you have the sigil in a legendary weapon you should be able to use that weapon WITH THAT SIGIL on any character. Not sure about how it works as a standalone (IE not inside a legendary)... I wonder what happens if you put it in an exotic weapon xD Do you have to salvage the weapon to get it out?

Pretty sure legendary runes/sigils can be removed without extractors/salvaging. The Legendary Armory that is being introduced in EOD should (according to a video by Wooden Potatoes) allow all characters on your account to access a legendary at all times, and hopefully this applies to sigils and runes to be used across multiple characters also (e.g. you only need to craft 6 legendary runes and once the armory is launched, you can use all 6 on all characters).

The thing is.. that depends on what your goals are. Someone working on the pvp legendary backpack will have a differenty list of chores than someone working on the legendary raid ring. just made my 6th rune and it feels glorious
Don't do the ecto trade, it's about 4 times as expensive as most other options. If you're in a hurry, you can buy unlimited tokens for Charged Crystal Quartz in Rata Sum - it's about twice as expensive as other sources, but you can skip the timegate (if you've been dilligent in getting the charged quartz)

1:30 been getting in the habit of stopping by the NPC in Ogre Camp just after finishing Tangled Depths Meta Chak Gerent (i've seen you there a few times Mukluk) almost to 200 now i think

I have become completely obsessed with a full legendary armory. Having no real “main” I swap between all classes and it made me realize it’s a waste to get a full set of ascended armor for each class and each build. So now because of your videos all I have left to get are full medium leggy, 2 light armor leggy, 3 sigils, warhorn, torch, focus and finally shortbow. Then I can focus on getting “gud” lol
Muk, with the legendar armory coming up.. do you think these will be shared within the same charracter? As in, usable in all armor slots? So we wouldn't need 8 sigils for example.. any thoughts?

Anet has not disclosed anything of the kind :) That's purely an assumption.
No you need 6 runes and probably 4 sigils 2 per weapon
As long as the same type of characters share armor I guess you will have to make 18 of them, if you have all 3 types of armor and one for each weapon you use
I'm looking into this due to the legendary armory letting you share runes/sigils. You're probably right about getting legendary armor and buying exotic runes being better. I'm probably still going to get legendary runes first. I haven't even made ascended armor despite getting the crafting level for it. This is due to realizing all the characters would have the same skin. Multiple exotic armor sets means more skin variety. I'm not the biggest fashion wars player but that along with the fact that stat changing would require repurchasing runes (not a big fan of weekly key farming) put me off from pulling the trigger. It's nice that the legendary runes are easier to get and it lets me make use of my max crafting armor level. It also incentivizes me to play classes with different armor weights although it's not like gold is a big limiting factor in the game.
Edit: I'm having doubts on getting them now that I see how long the grind will be.
I think you are saying you can only use legendary rune or sigil on one piece of armor or weapon meaning it's not transferable to another item?
You can use each rune or sigil once per equipment template. So if you are using a sigil on a greatsword in template 1, you can use that same sigil on a staff (or whatever) in template 2. etc

Do we have some clear statement from ANet on how the Legendary Runes/Sigils will be implemented in the upcoming Legendary Armory? I mean, the Armory is done to share the Legendary Equipment through all the character in an account, but would it mean also replicating multiple legendary items on a single character?
Now that I think about it, this question is valid also in the case of a character using two of the same weapon (thinking Axe/Axe or Sword/Sword), would they be able to replicate one legendary weapon on both hands or will they still need two identical legendary weapons?
Can't wait for the legendary armory to be out in any case :)

According to WP's video back at the end of Jan, he says that the armory will allow the same legendary to be used by multiple characters at the same time. As for two of the same weapon on each hand (e.g. axe-axe), not sure.
The short answer is: we don't currently know. There has been speculation only to my knowledge at this time.
I would say that you can't use twice the same legendary in a same equipment teamplate, why would they suddently multiply like breads with the armory, makes no sense to me

Like a lot of people here I've never heard about this before. It will probably cool to have them when the legendary armoury comes out, as you can have them in your alts, even if they only have exotics you don't have to buy runes and sigils for each one. I'll try to remember geting those daily items so I have them when needed.

To answer your question you posted on 3 seperate videos:
If you want to use a full set of runes, you have to craft a full set of legendary runes. So 6 (or 7 with rebreather).
Each rune can be used once per equipment template.
Finally started making these. I'm selling my rune collection as I go, and making a ton of money off of them. In some cases I had enough after selling runes to make another legendary rune.

6 runes (or 7 with rebreather) covers everything. The number you have is how many you can use per equipment template.

Wiki says "Legendary runes and sigils can be removed from equipment of any rarity without needing to use an Upgrade Extractor" or did I misunderstand you?
It's the same as what he said: if the armor/weapon is legendary OR if the rune/sigil is legendary, they can be separated without the extractor. (The quote from wiki just focuses on the rune/sigil part.)
I always thought that you could only add it to legendary equipment. That's pretty neat. I wonder how that would work with the Legendary Armory coming up?

Does the stats and runes and sigil on your underwater gears add up to your overall stats or it only takes effect when you are underwater?

Yes, so they will apply to every equipment template. If you have 7 runes (armor + rebreather) you are covered for every single template you have on every toon.
In what world is it worth crafting 6 of these, which is 120 clovers, 600 ectos, and a million gil
Really hope leggy relic comes out to only require getting some SoTO mats + achievements like prismatic champion's regalia did.
So.. Sigils.. I'm guessing that if you use a shortcut key to 'change build' rather than 'swap weapon', you 'could' get away with only 2 Sigils instead of 4 (or 8) by just moving the Sigils to the alternate weapon in the build template? You'd obviously need more Build template slots but I think they're cheaper than making the Sigils?

Also if you have an excess Charged Quartz, you can buy as many Provisioner Tokens as you can afford from the Rata Sum vendor.
if i put a leggy sigil or rune on a non legendary item, and then i dispose of that item without taking the leggy out of it, do i lose the legendary, or does it such automatically go back to my armory?
It should go back to the armory when unequipped.

So you only need 1 rune per piece of armor and you can choose any runes available? Or do you need 6 per rune set? If the latter, seems like a major pain.
One rune per rune you want equipped. So 6 for a full set, or 7 if you include rebreather. However you can use them in all equipment templates at once.

Sounds like they are handy to have, but extremely not needed until much later when you are done with Armour/Acc/Weapons Though the saving on Upgrade extractors is pretty good, as well as of course once you have them my guess is with the armoury, you'll be able to use them on every character too? That armoury is going to be massive if so
So would you recommend crafting a legendary sigil if we already have a legendary weapon ? It looks very expensive for a minimum added value since you can swap sigils on legendary weapons
If you have builds that use like...10~20 sigils swaps... these legendary sigils can save up some slots xD in a really expensive way.
I just decided to give this a try and... why tf are the charms so difficult to get? The drop rate is ridiculously low and they're even expensive off the Trading Post :/

I wonder if the legendary rune is going to be like, with an infinite ammount of uses if you unlock it for the legendary armory like, is it going to work the same way as the Heritage Armor from WoW? Where you can just click from the book and get the piece you want without any kind of restriction?

big disagree on waiting for the lego armor to get this, this is perfect for people that have a couple of ascended armor they share between characters so they can have the correct runes for each class :)
But legendary armor does that with the benefit of being able to stat swap
@@13lacklagoon I already have many sets of ascended gear from fractals and achievements. But I do not have many sets of runes/sigils lying around. Also, I find that legendary sigils are more useful than legendary runes since I change between various Sigils of _____ Slaying often.
@@13lacklagoon i understand that but if you already have ascended that want to share on a couple of characters this is a lot cheaper and faster so they can actually share that ascended armor with optimal builds. obviously starting a fresh account aim for legendary armor but if you've been playing for a while and have a couple of ascended sets this is perfect.

The hardest part for me is always to get the needed T6 materials :/ Any advice on these?
If you have a lot of volatile magic you can trade them for t6 trade goods at merchants in dragonfall.
i made 6 legendary runes but it didn't allow me to use all 6 pieces on armor set. weird enough. do i need to make all 7 runes?
6 should cover all armor: Head, shoulders, chest, gloves, legs, boots and a 7th for rebreather if you wish to.
Make sure the armor has rune slots on it.

I wasnt going to make these but atm playing a untamed ranger main. Pharus LB, Aurenes hammer, Full Leggie armor all leggie trinkets. So now im like meh why not make the runes and sigils that way alts that cant use my armor or weapons or if i feel like experimenting with my mains gear i can.

Things that took me an embarrassingly long time to utilize... living world season portal times-the importance of collecting at least 250 of all those mats- and one I'm still figuring out is all the stuff in Eye of the North :o

it works in WvW. In pvp you basically already have legendary runes/sigils and can change them anytime you are between matches.
My heart will always go to the bundle flamethrower you could use with pre-nerf Soulcleave summit

I mean duh? For every armor piece and weapon. Wouldn't make any sense to craft one leggy armor piece only and not make the other pieces
The honest answer is... no one knows yet. I can make guesses but we won't know for sure until ANET tells us.
@@arratoi the armour make sense to have 6. The video topic is runes and sigils. The armory is just around the corner. You might need just one rune and one sigil due to the deposit system? No one know yet. I was hoping that @muklukyoutube would have some insider information. The mystic coin prices has gone really high atm due to the armory confirmation and gen 3 legendaries.

No. It works on any level 80 equipment.
Ok I get what you mean once you have the gear but let's say you expect it to be an eternity before you get it all together to have a legendary weapon or armor...couldn't these save you a lot of time or money in the meantime for swapping out runes or sigils on all your potato level gear? As it is I can't decide between like 3 or 4 different sets of sigils and runes just for my wvw set alone, and the idea of having to buy and destroy and buy and destroy over and over again till I settle on what I like sure seems annoying and mildly expensive...maybe getting the armor or weapons is faster than I'm expecting but I want to play with specs today and don't anticipate having the good gear for a good while.

Ok so now that legendary armory is no longer in the realm of imagination, how does it REALLY affect the usage of legendary runes / sigils ?
If you have a legendary rune or sigil you can use them once per equipment template per character. So if I have 2 equip templates and 1 legendary rune I can use it once on each of the two of them.

This video served no purpose but to remind me how many provisioneer tokens I need.
i think i needed 2 month to craft 7 runes and 8 sigills. Just place some characters at the vendors and also buy some weapons which you can convert into provisioner tokens. Otherwise it will take 4-5 month

Yes, if you have one legendary rune then you will have one legendary rune for every gear set on every character.
If you have 7 legendary runes (6 armor + rebreather) you have a full set on every gear set for every character.
Get one rune for the aqua breather is rly god tip.

Yes, as many as you want. But I recommend not making more than one of each until the legendary armory is out (In July I believe) to see how they will handle those per template
