- Bobby came to the shop on 21st July,2010 and played a selection from his recently released album, The High Level.
His music is rhythmically infective and his easy passion for the music is all too obvious.
Fabelous player remember him playing on the radio when I was young we were all in love with his music
I'm listening again..I'm hooked on this music.Making a fruit cake and beating the sugar and butter along with the tune !
What a wonderful gentleman✅🇮🇪
Such talent but modest with it✅
Love this style and timing
Great to hear this man ..I first heard him play in Lisdoonvarna around 1960...he has that lovely sense of melody and a reasonable tempo which now seems to be rare...he plays a tune tunefully!
Bobby you never lost it lovely style of playing..up the Banner
Every time
I enjoy Bobby Gardner music very much.🌏
Really beautiful. A real legend in action, and a great inspiration.

Lovely music great sense of showmanship but no showing off or conceit Just great simple yet beautiful
Yes your correct, as I passed comment a few weeks ago on a box player who been around from awhile and should've known better,
I said he was showboating when he had no call to.🌏
I love Bobby Gardiner with the Accordion.

He's been one of my favourite melodeon players for 30+ years after seeing him play in Derby with the All Ireland Champions Tour - 1970's?
CCE Echoes of Erin tour? Best of storytelling, musicians & dancers. 👍🙂
@JDMacify Come on, we wanna hear bobby speak. He would have been happy just to belt out a few tunes. But the interviewer got him to say a few words before he played. I thought it was nice.
i have this mans phone no. first time ive ever heard him play stupid on my part
@martyn1954 Yeah great ...note the key change between the tunes?
a great germanic man,
uh, that`s a 2 row irish button accordion. probably made in italy , where most quality accordions are made . some places call it a box , technically , it`s a diatonic accordion . also common but not as common as the b/c accordion is the c#/d accordion.[ for irish music ]
Bobby usually plays a B/C accordion (across the two rows), but this one is in D/D# (played along the straight row) which is what he played with the Kilfenora Ceili Band before he went off to America in the 1950s.
Starts at 1:53
First House in Connacht. Great.
Go on,I wish I could play an instrument,Irish music is the most meaningful and moving.
What's the tune name? If they said it I missed it several times
Wind that shakes the barley and the first house in Connaught
Nanci de cuishla and Daren Breslin
Anyone know what kind of melodeon he is playing and in what key?
it's not a melodeon its an accordion but same thing they called it a 2 row melodeon then called it the accordion but its in B/C as are most irish accordions as thats the standard sometimes you get the odd one out but very rarely
Feidhelm Griffin D/D sharp I think . My B/C is out trying to pick these tunes up !
S.S Moore hy tell me please whats the name of this melodie
D/D# is what it is, the system Bobby originally played before he went off to America, and before Paddy O'Brien showed everybody what could be done on a B/C when his three 78rpm discs were released in 1955. I've played on the very same D/D# grey Paolo that Bobby used with the Kilfenora in the early '50s, a mutual friend in Lisdoonvarna used to have it.
sure its not C#/D?
Somebody know what is the name of this song?
+Papp Jozsef Lehel There are two tunes:
1.) The Wind That Shakes the Barley
2.) The First House in Connacht
