    I’ve had one on my board for a couple of years, with Boss ES5 doing the midi patch changes. Worth emphasising that you can only use one effect sound at a time, and if you don’t use midi your patch changes will be slow and clunky if using live. However, the sounds are really good. Mine is mainly set up to do line 6 versions of fuzz face/big muff/tone bender/tube driver etc for a Floyd tribute. Wasn’t aware of any of the reliability issues - thanks for the heads up. 👍🏻

    • @TheGuitarEffect
      @TheGuitarEffect  3 роки тому +2

      Hey Andy. Thanks for the comment. I did mention once or twice in the video that it’s only one effect at a time. The patch change without midi the not too bad if you use the he pedal in a single loop switch pedal. But you would have to plan your patch changes in the order you’d need them In your set.
      I think it’s really cool that you are using it for fuzz. I’ve always thought the fuzz sounds were surprisingly useable.

    I already have a pedal board full of my favorite pedals. This one is nice for the effects that you might want to add occasionally. Effects that you don't use enough to have a separate pedal for.

      Hey David. Thx for the comment. I must say this is one of my favorite pedals for that exact reason! I really love well designed and thought out pedals. This is one of the absolute best ever from that perspective for me. The BOSS MS3 is another.

      I've used zoom g2 for exactly that when I gigged. One son needed a tremendous, one needed a harmony, another a second delay, etc. I had it in a true bypass looper. no reliability issues and great sounding effects.

    Hey Rob! I just bought one used for $90 US and went looking for videos about it and found yours. Excellent video as always. I recognize the sounds of course from Helix Legacy effects (I have Native, sold my LT). I'm not thrilled with the drive presets so far but the delay/reverb/modulations are all great. I've got it hooked up to my Nux Amp Academy and use it for quick jamming or testing out song ideas.

    • @TheGuitarEffect
      @TheGuitarEffect  Рік тому

      Hey Frank. So the drive sounds are not all very useable. digital overdrive is only something that has been mastered to a useable extent in the last 5 years really in my opinion. But the tube driver is great and I quite like the fuzz face. But the rest of the effects are excellent

  • @pabcrane

    I bought one on Reverb today and before it arrives I thought I'd check UA-cam for any review or instructional videos, whence I stumbled upon this one.
    I thought the unit would be particularly useful for recording - to be able to bring in various effects when needed. I also thought it might be handy for coming up with new sonic ideas in writing and demos. I've always thought that Line 6 effects were pretty good.
    I must say though that I'm now a little disconcerted about the longevity and build quality issues which you mentioned!

    • @TheGuitarEffect
      @TheGuitarEffect  Рік тому

      Hey Paul. Thx for the comment. It’s an absolutely indispensable pedal. For both live and recording use. The effects totally stand up.
      As far as the reliability goes to be honest they can have issues. (Seems to be luck if the draw) but to be honest they are so cheap for what they are I really think it’s OK.

    I occasionally use mine as a Volume Pedal with an added Expression pedal. Love the Reverb and Delays. You are able to assign the expression pedal to any effect and have it control the depths and speeds and mixes and such. An incredibly versatile pedal with great sounding modulation and time based effects. I found the od and distortion effects to be a bit noisey, but that could be a "me" issue. M9 allows for more than one effect. That would be handy.

    Bought one but did not keep it, because does not match with my needs. Imo worth the money for delays, some filters and verbs. Mods are medium quality (especially rotary and univibe). + It's too big for on an average pedalboard. In live situation, if you play rock, you will not need it (you just need 1 drive pedal, 1 boost; 1 phaser, a dly pedal and the spring reverb from your amp) . I admit that it's perfect as a stand alone mutieffect in the backpack for some occasion, if you play ambient music.

I tried a Nux Atlantic just to find out that the nuances of reverb and delay were most of the time lost in the mix. Hey Shane. Yeah this is a great choice for one pedal that can add nice flavor at specific times.

      Hey James. Thx for the comment. I think you may be trying to enter the competition I ran a while back. If so it’s actually over and all the pedals were won. If not that would be a nice rig!!!!!

    Does it have Dotted Eight Delay Setting on it?

      Hey. Thx for the comment. Yes. It has multiple types of delay and they can all be set to dotted eight sub divisions of the tap tempo.

      Hey. Actually Russel Crowe does play guitar and tours (or at least toured once) with a band! I get that a lot and I’ll absolutely take it! Thx

    How can I create a blank preset?

    • @TheGuitarEffect
      @TheGuitarEffect  14 днів тому +1

      You can just turn the bypass footswitch off and save the preset by holding down the modelselect knob. Or if for some reason you need the pedal to be on, select the volume pedal in the drive section and set the volume to full.

    • @TheGuitarEffect
      @TheGuitarEffect  14 днів тому +1

      All you do is turn the effect off and it’s bypassed in that preset.

      @@TheGuitarEffect I want to do this in “instant preset” mode so I can have a true bypass in between effects when I scroll up and down. Is that possible?

    • @TheGuitarEffect
      @TheGuitarEffect  12 днів тому +1

      Yes absolutely just have a preset with the effect off in between the ones with the effect on.

      Hey Tiler. There are some other good distortions in it like the muff is useable and the rat. For me thoygh the Tube driver has a where I go to most.

      Hey Anthony. Thx for the comment. I think there is one setting where it does delay and reverb together. But otherwise you could just use 2 of them!
