Black Flag was a good AC game, but an even better pirate game. Absolutely loved it, the characters, ship combat. Edward's and Blackbeard's voice actors were brilliant.
This is why pirates are one of my favorite historical fiction eras, because it can even have truly epic events like this which actually happened while also having stuff like the kraken.
Black Flag's story connected me to a game like never before. It was amazing, and made me emotional when it ended. Wish I could relive those moments again.

This is why we should never trust game reviews by agencies like IGN. They never play the story properly and rush to judgements based on their own agendas. Like how in the bloody sword of Davy Jones can you call Black Flag's story disappointing ? Edward Kenway is one of the most legendary Assassins we ever had the pleasure of playing as. His ambitions are so much relatable, and his redemption is so much grand. A tale marked with tragedy but yet known for its beauty. And not to forget, the supporting characters were just as awesome. Blackbeard, Mary Read, Anne Bonnie, Charles Vane and the others were extremely important inputs and they all served their own purposes. Even Black Bart was awesome as a villain with his own goals that went against both the Assassins and the Templars. How do you call this disappointing is beyond me.
IGN is infamous for having controversial opinions. They told Half-Life 2 had 0 innovations and then awarded it the game of the decade. It is the problem with having 1 person reviewing a game.

I'm just discovering this channel and WOW ! I love your analysis of the game and the way you narrate the story. You gained a subscriber ! Moreover, AC4 Black Flag is the only game where I finished 100% of all missions and side quests. Between my PS3 and my PC, I must have 300-400 hrs of gameplay over the last eleven years and I still can't find a game that never ceases to amaze me and entertain me this much.
