IF we didn't have Maxi on the Mavs right now, he's a player we would be trying to obtain. A back up 4 and a 3rd C who can play defense and hit 3's (when his confidence is up), is what we'd be clamoring for.

We have to keep Maxi. He stretches the floor and can guard the 4&5. He’s a player we would be looking for if we didn’t have him.
Honestly in Maxi's case, I think what we need are better Trainers. The team has suffered too many injuries not just to Maxi and we damn need a better medical staff.
Interesting situation - I'm inclined to keep Maxi - I'd hate to see him on another team like the Pels or OKC!

Ive always been a big Maxi fan, but he hasnt been able to stay healthy for years, and his shot is insanly streaky. Hes a high level backup when he's right tho. It would have to be the right piece if we move him

Maxi is surprisingly clutch in the playoffs. He regularly shoots above 40% at a higher volume.

Maxi isn’t going anywhere. He fills a needed role. He’s a third big man who can actually play. Why mess with that?
right?! you can throw him to guard the perimeter or guard bigs. against clippers when gafford and dlive was struggling and figuring out how to guard zubac, maxi was thrown out there and actually held his own against post up moves.

That emotional connection is what kept this team mediocre for years...Powell and Kleber don't deserve to retire as a Maverick based on play. Kleber has become injury prone and Powell doesn't rebound or block shots and he's useless on offense. Plus, both are over 30 with diminishing value and that's a negative to the roster.

They’re both providing good value for money
Maxi is cheap for a stretch 4/5 who can defend inside and outside…he’s cheap because he’s injury prone
Powell is just flat out great value at $4m

There's not much we can do right now other than keep him and hope Kidd doesn't overplay him, there's no rush to make a move until we at least see what this team looks like. His contract numbers are kind of at just the wrong point to make him easily tradable without giving up assets or taking something bad back. Old players that are starting to break down have minimal trade value. His presence isn't problematic enough to get too worried about it at this point but it is offseason content time so drama away I guess. If O Max doesn't take a step forward we might need him in places still
Kleber was fantastic that clipper series I think everyone's overreacting. I know we are overreacting cuz he was making me money off bets lol. He was my cash cow before his shoulder injury
My problem with Maxi has always been his inability to move with the ball. He never dribbles [4 maximum]. And that compromises the ball and allows the offense. He needs to shoot it out try to be a better passer.

@DunningKrugerJnr I don't expect him to have "HANDLES" doodoo head. Just move with the ball a little bit better. That's not asking much. And he's not just a center. He's a pf first. PFs should be able to move better.

I seriously believe that maxi and exum are on make it or break it this next season both are constantly injured and not very productive.
