@LucidKay9114 I know there's a such thing as a yodel, but there wasn't one in this song. Y'all need to stick to whatever professions and hobbies you're good at. Because music is not it. That wasn't a yodel.
Yodeling requires a quick alternation between chest voice and head voice, or falsetto. If you think you heard falsetto in that RUN, then I shouldn't even be talking to you bc you're COMPLETELY clueless. A break in the voice and falsetto are two TOTALLY different things. Her voice was breaking. She wasn't yodeling.

Even kids today sing this song because of how passionate it is. You guys nailed Keyshia Cole’s artistry and brand! She is the girl around the way. Her appeal was her relatability and rawness. And she hasn’t changed or switched up to this day. She was stuck in this lane much like Mary J Blige and Jazmine were, where all of their music was about heartbreak and struggle. All of those artist have worked hard at not being pigeonholed there while also embracing that it’s where they shine and connect the most. Keyshia has a great 3-4 album run worth reacting to!

As an 8 year old kid, this song spoke to my soul and I had never been in love but this record takes you there. I also have to remember that everyone has an opinion and they did state they liked certain aspects of the song. You just have to be black to understand this masterpiece. Every note, harmony, and layer and stacking in this song was intentional. The “squeaky” parts are intentional and a stylistic vocal choice.😊🔥❤️

For me, I downloaded this song illegally on Limewire in 2005 for my iPod Mini and burned it onto a bunch of mix CDs for my friends. This is the very beginning of iPod music! This is a special song for a lot of people where I’m from (Bay Area, CA)

Keyshia Cole is every bit of a singer who feels what she is singing and mean it.
The emotion is what makes this song and many more of hers so great! And why she’s lowkey underrated. She’s a lover girl who loves to sing and she makes music about her love.

This song is AMAZING and a generational classic for sure. It brings me back to when I was 20 and just moved to NYC. My cousin had Keyshia’s album before anyone and kept talking about how amazing it was. I swear it took me & the rest of the world a whole 6 months to finally listen to it & understand. This album was such a slow burn.. it came out in the Summer and finally peaked around Winter/the top of the following year. Then she had her reality show on BET b/c everyone was so intrigued by her! This song will never die lol

I love this song. It’s one of the most fun songs to sing, even when you can’t necessarily sing well. The” squeaky” bits you just scream your lungs out. lol Great karaoke song.

It's crazy how this song came back in popularity & now most of the younger generations know it too. At my nieces grad party they played it & all my nephews & nieces were singing it at the top of their lungs. As a Millennial it made me happy.

This song was so good and so popular and fantastic. Here high notes were sung more than in sing i can remember. This is a instant his classic. Fun fact Boobie Gibson from the Cavs married her. She works seat 4 seats down from me at the games in 2007

When I first heard the song's chorus, I thought it was a prank or some listener calling in to sing that was straining. The song eventually grew on me, and years later, after hearing more of work/ability I believe the strained parts were artistic and intentional.
