Hi Caroline, When I checked Amazon Rules it states that you are not allowed to put website links into our books, so I can't understand how people manage to do this, great content
▼ @mazedwards9150 - Hi there. Would you be so kind as to please provide a link to this Rule? I've never heard of it, can't find it online, and want to make sure I'm doing everything right. Thank you.
▼ @mazedwards9150 - I just checked on KDP - and I believe you might be referring to "hyperlinks" which are not permitted in "Kindle books". ▼ Kindle has rules which do not apply to Paperbacks published on Amazon. ▼ I've been publishing paperback books on Amazon for years and always put my links in my books. Hope this helps clarify for you :-)
I've seen some TikToks that are doing no voice videos showing their books. Is this a violation with Amazon because I don't want to risk losing my account with Amazon ? Its actually very smart to do . Any help would be appreciated, i can't afford to pay for advertising and afraid of jumping on the sign up for all social media platforms.
I love you now like I always did You’re my meaning my goal my reason for having some wit Without you I’m nothing and nothing makes sense For only when we’re together am I happy and content Your smile brings me joy and your voice is a melody You’re my happiness hope and goal for eternity
@@tremtoronto6462 I regularly watch content creators on UA-cam, and here's what I've learned and started implementing in my free time: 1. When we are playing in another's sandbox (Etsy, Amazon, etc), regardless of our success or lack thereof, we are vulnerable to them. You don't even know who your customers are, cannot build a community and thus cannot collect their e-mails, which is the foundation of every online business. That's why Amazon and Etsy keep the customer's e-mail addresses for themselves. You are doing the heavy lifting for them, and even if you play by their books, you can be shut down permanently for no reason. They have your customers, and you just lost your livelihood overnight, more often than not unjustly. These stories could fill up a novel. 2. Even if you sell on these corporate platforms, you must do your marketing yourself. Solution: Set up your website/blog, online base, and brand. If you don't have money for hosting, you can go on Medium for free and start writing your content and link it to Pinterest, IG, UA-cam, TikTok, or Twitter. Medium has affiliate programs, like Gumroad, where you can sell for free, but they will charge for a percentage. So if you can, pay for your website/blog where you can sell your products directly. Marketing: Choose one or two social media platforms that go with your product and start marketing and building your community. Countless successful content creators never went on Amazon and other places; some even built a million-dollar business. The timeframe is just as long as it is with these platforms, and it depends on what you are selling, its usefulness, and quality. Good luck.

Excellent points.This is so thorough.
Could you clarify how you would direct customers to a website from amazon?
I think Caroline covered this by adding your website and other social media links in your book that's published on Amazon

I don't do Amazon. Horrible experience.
But 60% of the market is with Amazon. What are other options. Don't like Amazon either
