Hi Paul, thanks for another paph video! I have my paphs growing in a combination of rockwool and large perlite and they love it. Some also suggest using rockwool with LECA to fill in the gaps and provide air to the roots. The moisture level stays even and rockwool doesn’t break down. My paphs are growing like crazy in my apartment under lights. I water once a week to every ten days, letting the media dry some. Maybe this would work for you in your dry environment.

Hi there! I’m glad you tuned it - I forgot all about rock wool. Seen it in a vid sometime ago, will def text my luck with it. Are you also in a dry environment?

@@therightpaphI’m in NYC so in the winter I am. I grow in IKEA cabinets so the humidity can get quite high, but the rockwool with the large perlite keeps things airy. I don’t have to water much in winter, maybe once every 10-14 days. Unlike moss the rockwool doesn’t break down, paph roots seem to love it and they’re growing well.

I miss NYC - I’m originally from the Bronx 😎 this rockwool certainly does sound promising so I’ll keep you updated if I give it a try. I still have so much moss left lol. Can I pack the wool like moss tho? Airy isn’t good for me here with it being so dry.
