      Hold both buttons and it switches to - 99 to 99. Not sure what that means but it's a thing.

    I just got mine, specifically for leather working - need to get used to the incredibly long shaft....

    Hi. Have you tried measuring its power consumption using a power meter? I'd like to know how much power it draws at max temp and how much in rush current does it have during the initial heating. Thanks and more power.

    I would be happy if they put and added A "hold 2 buttons" to shut it off (switch off).
    instead of plug and unplugging or extending your hand to power supply switch it off.

    Trying to use this on my PS5 controller @ the highest temperature and it will not melt the solder alone on the controller. Thinking about throwing it out

      If the tip tight? That can cause and iron to not heat.

    Has anyone figured out how to change to F° display?

    • @zukiryder05
      @zukiryder05 2 роки тому +3

      Yes, Press and hold both + and - buttons at the same time while plugging in the unit. It will enter setup mode and you can change it from there. Supposed to also be able to power cycle the unit, but haven't figured that out yet, without unplugging it.

    When he was saying "power supply" did he really mean something more like "power strip" maybe? Is this a standalone unit?

    • @tortrac958
      @tortrac958 Рік тому

      Yes, it plugs directly into the socket so you would have to switch off the socket

    Soon as I plugged mine in, I hear POP! anyone familiar with how to access the fuse? Obviously dismantle it, but HOW?!

    • @Rickmakes
      @Rickmakes  Рік тому

      Was the pop in the soldering iron or did you have it connected to a power strip?

    • @VentureWelding
      @VentureWelding Рік тому

      @@Rickmakes nope, direct to wall outlet. It definitely came from inside the unit itself, prolly midway if, I coukd see it illuminate from inside.

    Hello there I have recently got this soldering iron and I have a problem, as soon as I plug it is it says eao or ero and I don't know what to do about it. Do you know how to fix this?

    • @Rickmakes

      Not sure what that error could mean. I would try contacting the seller.

      Did you ever find out EA0? Mine is doing the same. It seems to affect the temperature of the iron.

      Open it up. I bet there is a loose connection internally. If not get a new one. They're cheap.
