    Hi. After a long time of buying a soldering iron from Aliexpress, I unpacked it and when I tried to turn it on, the display didn't show anything. Then I realized that it turns on by pressing one of the buttons for 2 seconds. My soldering iron has 3 buttons, + - and on.
    That first time, when I saw that it didn't turn on, I opened it and the display came off, it wasn't firmly attached. When I put it back on, the degree numbers on the display are barely visible. I don't know how to fix it.

    So to confirm, the spring here is the temperature gauge of the iron, right?

      Obviously not, it's supposed to be ground.

    I want to know the value of resistance cylinder shape with colour coding placed just above the 0.1mf SMD Capacitor. My soldering iron resistance is burnt and colour coding is not visible. Please help.

    Can I connect heating element directly to 220v because circuit is broken?

      you should disconnect the power before the soldering tip goes to hot to red~

      Yes, as the circuit only regulates the power by chopping off parts of the mains voltage for example 50% results in the triac activating 10 milliseconds later (50 Hz, period - 20 ms).
      But if your tip is glowing.. add a diode, the 1N4007 will be enough.

    Bro, do you know if the 110V and 220V versions have the same pcb components? I wonder if the label 110/200V are only on the ceramic heating element? I am asking this because I wonder if it's possible to change a 110V rated ceramic element with 220V.

      no not the same, the 0.1uF
      cap next to the bt136, is different from 220 and 110V version, and the program inside mcu, they are not the same one

    • @imnotbeluga007
      @imnotbeluga007 Рік тому

      Slight differences, because the TRIAC (BT136) circuit inside can run on mains voltage. What really needs to be different is the heating element.

      They have different heating element. The one for 120V has 64 ohms while 220V has 146. I changed mine with 146 ohms 80watts.@@imnotbeluga007
