ya this was the most thorough greenhouse ive ever seen. the only time ive heard of someone putting this much time/money into building a grow setup were big time weed growers
Dude......and this is no BS,....you did the BEST job ever, and this is coming from a guy who over builds everything. My girl just picked up two of these and we're doing the back to back like you did. Only difference is that I'll be using aluminum for supports and welding.
You just blew my mind. We put together our little 6x8 greenhouse a few months back and it is incredibly under-engineered in comparison to yours. We're trying to keep it above freezing in the PNW with some bubble wrap and a ceramic heat bulb, haha! Really, really impressive and so wonderful that you have all the knowledge to be able to add in all the extras.
Just bought a 10x12 HF greenhouse. Had joined a group where I found your video. Your video is great. Thank you for saving us so much energy and time with your insight and suggestions.
Guys, take advice from this guy he really knows what he's doing so far that I see love what he's got going on very well done love it come build me one buddy
THANK YOU for posting this! My husband is just finishing up the foundation and about to assemble my two greenhouses. This answered so many of my unanswered questions on connecting the two. I had just found the harbor freight group and have requested to join. Then found your video. Thanks again!
Next week he'll build a garden conservatory. This is beautiful. I actually looked up "attaching 2 green house kits to each other." How fortuitous to find this.
Wow this is amazing! Im wanting to get one of these and learned a lot. I live in north central Florida, and we do get some cold snaps and even hard freezes every few years. You are definitely a dedicated green thumb! Thanks for sharing! 🦜
This is a beautiful greenhouse. I found this video by searching on how to connect two HF greenhouses. I wish I would have purchased this a few years ago when I could get this size at $400. Today, this size on a sidewalk sale is $749.99. I also just found out that you were Reganite 71!! I loved that channel, and checked it often looking for updates. You have a new (old) sub starting now!!!
I built 2 of these joined together, long wall facing due south., also on a deck base, with crushed stone heat store below. However, in an open area with no windbreaks. In 2 weeks, a wind storm took the walls and roof off of the steel base. The steel components failed, unfolded or bent, releasing the walls. The aluminum was fine. No extra panel clips, but did add 2 or 4 screws per panel into the cross supports. Not even a shingle out of place on any other building on the property. The wall column to base support is a weak point, and not easy to beef up. Must have a windbreak. Very few salvageable pieces. I did reinforce the end walls over the doors, leftover rect tubing from center of wall to tops of walls on either side, very weak spot there. I was able to splice the two units together with some strip flashing, and put collar ties in where the back walls would be, left all open inside for 24 feet. The structure was very sturdy even without the end walls or framing. Strip flashing in the 4” space between the end frames, screwed into the aluminum rafter and wall frames. Looked and worked great.
Wow, that's an interesting way to get a larger greenhouse for cheap! How do you like this model, I've been eyeing it myself as I don't have a lot to spend but I've heard some bad reviews that the Harbor Freight ones are cheap and you get what you pay for. At the same time, I've also heard that they can be made very sturdy with just a bit of DIYing. I'm the kinda person who's more than willing to do stuff myself to save a bit so I'm interested, how are these two holding up for you?
Thank you. I intend to live stream within the next few weeks. I shot a garden tour video earlier today and that's a good idea. Lots to talk about for sure. Thank you!
Hi! I used galvanized L brackets on the inside corners: amzn.to/31Wz4Zp and on the outside of each corner, I used a galvanized mending plate that was 3x6: amzn.to/3hXbwsX Hope that helps and thanks for watching.
@@Tiki71 thx. I'm considering buying one but I see other vids with fading, cracked, warped panels and lots of rusting screws and bolts. Maybe yours is in a better climate
You should check out the rain gutter grow systsm on Facebook, auto watering w float valves. Incredibile production and with your set up it could be year round well done!
Very good work I was thinking about you,r father the other day when yaw was at their house on 4 July that year he was cutting that watermelon. And messing with you,r son.
Nice…im doing one unit but have contemplated 2 joined similar, but I’m torn if I should just build with better than plastic walls. Nice job tips & video…Im probably going with caulking rather than tape for keeping the walls sealed and lasting longer but really impressed with yours…I hope yours lasts at least 2-4 times what it has so far.
@@Tiki71 thank you much for your quick reply. I love how much thought you put into this. Our greenhouse will be in a windy part of the country and we will need to have it beefed up. Thank you for so much detail n
You would have been better to tie the two structures together by removing the end walls on each and adjoining them. otherwise, you'll have to step up and over the frames. You could have a door on each end but the cooling system would normally be installed on the end but a door would be in the way unless you convert it to a swing-out door instead of a sliding barn door. These panels don't last forever so when it comes time to replace them, your gluing the pannels will bite you in the butt making the job to change them a big one. when aluminum touches the soil or wet sand it will electrolyze, causing it to corrode quickly. coarser gravel would have been a better media foundation for your paving.
I was just curious how you're going to walk through pass through doorway if there's a threshold to step over, push a wheelbarrow or two-wheel dolly through. I thought if you mounted the two greenhouses back-to-back structurally they should be sound enough but you would still have to step over that Foundation framework doorway.
I have considered it. I kind of figured since I built it, I could put what I wanted in it though. 🤣 The way things are in this world though, you're probably not wrong. 🤙
That is one cool greenhouse! Really awesome to watch, great job!

Amazing greenhouse transformation.

Dude that was awesome!! Great job on that build I like the conjoining in the middle…. Would love to have a food growing contest in one of those!! 🤓
First I've heard of Lexel, I get the feeling it's going to change my life.

Thank you so much. You might try black food grade barrels with water to help suck heat in during the day and release it at night.
Most incredible revision of a cheap greenhouse ever!!!!! Just awesome
Thank you!
This is the best greenhouse I have ever seen.
Thank you so much. Going into its 3rd year now and doing great.

Wonderful to see you again. you are missed.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for the info on the harbor freight greenhouse, I wondered how secure these were! Looks like you figured out how to improve their design.
Mine have withstood 60mph wind gusts. Without strengthening, it would have looked like a 3 year old's erector set. 🤣
That is absolutely beautiful🥰

That is beautiful! I wonder how is it now? thanks!
Like Elton John, it's till standing. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Henry’s roof sealer crystal clear is better and is UV resistance
Great to see you back!

Thank you for the informative video! I had considered doing a double at some point myself, you give me some great ideas to make that happen someday!

Hell Yeah! I just picked up mine for $300!! Got me really contemplating running water and electric now. Damn you can see the hardwork!
Hope the construction is going well. The water and electric are worth it. Much easier to install if planned out prior to assembly. ;)
Super glad your back on UA-cam!!!!! Looking forward to your videos!
Thank you so much! Good to be back!
Welcome back!
Thank!
holy crap it must feel nice with those pulmera blooming
Yeah. These were from cuttings about 10 miles from Kilauea. 🤟 🏝
Outstanding work! It appears that the only thing missing is the Helipad. God Bless!
Thanks!
Well done sir
Outstanding. Contratulations on such a magnificant project. Enjoy the rewards and thank you for posting your construction.

Good work on that, Jerry. Keep it up!
Appreciate it!

Wow beautiful

Good job. Good to see ya!
Hey, thanks!
Now if someone would do it for me.
Great video. Thank you!
Thanks!
Great Job....Having Issue just getting One 10x12 GH up! Your video was great...too advance for what I will do! But, entertaining!
So when’s the move in date. Literally nicer than my first studio apartment 😂
Nice job! Gives me lots of ideas. Have you figured what the additional heating costs?
Its probably gonna be bad this winter. I'm keeping it set at 50 this year.
I love it!
How many tubes of Lexel did you used and what size roofing screws?
Great Job!! Thank You... :-)
Thank you for watching. I appreciate it!
Reganite71!
Great job!
What size ladder did you used to installed your greenhouse?
I have a multi position ladder that can fold out to 16'. Thanks!
So I have thought about this but doing back to back and side by side with 4. Would it be possible todo it?

I did too, but with the strength up additions, it's been a champ! I've had it go through lots of storms with no problem.
I’ve missed your videos. I would love for you to catch us up on what you’ve been up to! Still in Arkansas?
Thank you. I intend to live stream within the next few weeks. I shot a garden tour video earlier today and that's a good idea. Lots to talk about for sure. Thank you!
Nice!

Hey when you used the silicone on the panels did you apply to small areas or did you seal it all the way around??
I went all the way around. No chances taken. 😉🤙
Wow you must have a very patient wife!
She's about ready for me to build another one. 🤣 I don't know if I am though.
Did you screw your 4x4 wood base frame together? If so how?
Hi! I used galvanized L brackets on the inside corners: amzn.to/31Wz4Zp and on the outside of each corner, I used a galvanized mending plate that was 3x6: amzn.to/3hXbwsX Hope that helps and thanks for watching.
What did you use to cut the panels for the three vents?
Jigsaw with a fine tooth blade & a 2x4 fence for straight cuts. 🤙😉
Thanks
Hows it holding up 3 years later?
Still good!

Level sealant. Found it.
I used Lexel on the inside where the panels met the frame and I used silicone caulk on the outside everywhere to seal gaps 😉👌🤙
Just saw this years later can i give you a 15 out of a 10 for a job well well done. p.s. Can i borrow your two friends "no" and "charge"
🤣 Thanks.
Well done...too much work for me...but mighty fine green house
It was just about too much work for me. If I had been shooting and editing video during it, it would still be unfinished. LOL
where are you living now where you need a greenhouse? my grow zone is 8
7b...
How is it holding up?
Really well. We've had up to 60mph winds during storms & she's been solid. ::knock on wood::

If I remember right, it's about 12 1/2'.

What is The grand total $ for this project?

In the video I showed how I filled the space and put down a floor. I also built a ramp on both exterior door sides.
So much reinforcement, that thing isn't going anywhere.
It's made through big storms 😉
Should seriously consider growing food in that green house space rather than yard and house plants.
I have considered it. I kind of figured since I built it, I could put what I wanted in it though. 🤣 The way things are in this world though, you're probably not wrong. 🤙
@@Tiki71 I am not wrong. Food shortages and the cost of same is rising as you yourself have probably noticed, and they will continue to do so.
