      i heard a story when i visited about one of the commanders went outside one morning and one of the sides of the fort completely fell over because of the logs all rotting; the homes inside the fort after a while also had to be supported with side support beams after a few years

    Fort Ticonderoga is actually a very poorly constructed and placed fort. The design was not done by an actual engineer and there is surrounding high ground that could command the fort.
    It’s very impressive looking though. I’ve been there.

      That's true and it's exactly what the British did during the War of Independence. It's a great fort for controlling the water but only if you have supporting forts higher in the hills.
