I love James Morris. I saw him in the Ring Cycle, Don Giovanni, and Tosca. I was a children’s chaperone for Tosca, and I went to get the elevator, and James Morris came to get it, too. I was so star struck and shy, that I did a hasty retreat. Still kicking myself about that.
Morris is still my favorite Wotan in my lifetime. I was lucky enough to see him many times and was thrilled to see him in Turandot a few weeks ago. And he's right about Angel Blue - she is amazing!
When he was announced as Wotan i was shocked. I thought he was too lyric for it. He certainly rose to the occasion. I recall the met broadcast of Don Giovanni when he became an instant star. And a heck of a nice man. Very humble

I’m lucky that I saw Morris in his greatest roles: Wotan, Dutchman, Don Giovanni, Hoffmann villains, so many others.
Bravo maestro!!❤So much respect!
He was so good in Otello
There's no better way to chase away the damp and chill of an autumn afternoon than with Giacomo Puccini, Franco Zeffirelli, and James Morris.
Morris is definitely a person who should have sung at Bayreuth. Incredible Wagnerian.
Wotan, thx And Morris sang Wotan very sensible without becoming lyric!
I think he is Best in Wagner! What a nice interesting and funny interview! Thanks
And Weikl have been!!!! Sry, Mr Weikl that I did not mentioned you!
And personal for sure Robert Hale
Either Angel Blue is wearing 14" heels here or she's on a box - James Morris is around 6' 4" tall!
Did he sing Falstaff, by any chance?
