Storm Peaks may be my favorite zone in Wrath. The snowy mountains, proto drakes everywhere, the Sons of Hodir, the music. Though you did have to fly through the place rather than walk, flying around those mountains was a cool experience. Those Hodir dailies were like getting Netherwing rep all over again. And while getting mammoths and shoulder enchants wasn't as cool as a nether drake I still enjoyed those rewards. Course they nerfed it later on... Oh well. And who could forget the gankers killing people during that ghost worm daily quest. I hated when that happened. Then of course there was Brunnhildar Village and those dailies in hopes of getting a White Polar Bear. And oh boy... I can't tell you how many of my friends and guildies got pissed at me when I got my Time-Lost Proto Drake. Though it was more of a funny kind of pissed off, dudes who knew me for a long time saying "Dude, I hate you." Yeah I spent a lot of free time looking for it but you can't believe how fast my heart started beating when I saw the dam thing. Of course as aggravating as it was hunting the TLPD down for some reason Blizzard decided to keep reusing that formula over and over again pretty much every expansion since. Did we really need a TLPD for like every zone in Draenor?! *sigh* Well gotta cram all those mount models in game somehow, give people with abundances of free time in game something to do I guess.
@@KingMavros I was just posting what I remembered from back then and my reflections on those experiences like so many others do in the comments of these various vids (especially like how people do in the classic wow music vids here). Though I admit, my rant about Blizzards dramatic reuse of the TLPD's formula was pretty much for comedy. Anyways in your case I hope I brought back good memories then.
anon omous and maybe, or not, because of that, it was my favourite place in Wow ever. And I'm from Portugal, we dont have mountainous regions like these :) The vocals give deepness to giant places like this one.
Every time I haven't played WoW for a long time, I always seem to come back to the music to reminisce and you know what, it doesn't disappoint. This music makes me so nostalgic almost to the point of tears. Once a WoW player, always a WoW player, I guess.
I live in Finland. A few years ago, at 6 in the evening during winter, I went on a short trip with my dad outside of town. He's a bird watcher, and he was looking for owls, just to hear their hooting, and asked me to join him. I had nothing else to do that evening, so I joined him. We didn't find any owls, but it was still quite an experience. While I was standing there. in the middle of nowhere, listening to any potential owls, I couldn't help but thinking of the Storm Peaks music. The vibes were exactly the same. While there are no high mountains in Finland, the thought of standing in the middle of nowhere. in the dark, during winter, made me feel like a dwarven explorer in the Storm Peaks, while this music was playing in my head. Maybe I had too much WoW in my mind at that time. Regardless, while we could't hear any owls, the skies cleared above the treetops, and we could see the stars. So my dad began stargazing, using the spyglass he had gotten specifically for birdwatching. We could see a nebula from where we were standing. That too brought me back to the Storm Peaks, more specifically Ulduar itself, where part of the raid is following a constellation theme.
Believe or not, "young" players, leveling through Northrend in wotlk expac was something You can't forget and and will stick to Your nostalgia like a glue to Your eyebrow. Now it's just zone which You pass in 5 hours, without even thinking about surrounding beauty, which every old player had to deal with every day doing professions, dailies and achievements. Unbelievable.
Well said...The huge amount of time spent in these areas farming profession and questing, will get you attached in every way...And it will remain embedded in your brain like a childhood memory..Unreal...
+Rabih Saad Sorry i dont understand, i'm playing a cata private server and i'm leveling in every zone of the game. never want to do dungeon finder. so can you explain me why this is lost?
It's all about difficulty. In cata You could focus on doing quests which pushed You forward to next location. In wotlk You met Storm Peaks every day, just like other stunning locations of WotLK which are the most exceptional in whole WoW universe. That's why this expansion left so much pain in our hearts. Not only gamestyle was great, whole "world" was just amazing.
+Dawid - OverAesthetic It was the best wow expension..It was perfectly balanced..Wrath was the pinacle. I stopped playing early Cata and never went back.

as a person with endogenous depression I have always thought of this theme as if it were my soul, there is no fear, there is no anger, there is no pain, only emptiness, with a hint of hope, remembering old times and waiting for better days.
out of all expansions, wotlk will always be the most memorable one and the one I enjoyed the most. not even just because the game was at it's peak but mostly because the entire atmosphere was something special. for some reason everything wotlk related gets me all tingly inside

It was a better time .. one day we will all be able to see how much light this game has given us in our hearts and how lost we all are without the power, hope and future that another person shares .. another human being it is just possible to improve the hope of humanity at least on a small tip of life!
Ah memories.... can't be stop when i listen to this... good old days fly around just for the sound of the zone and maybe get some rich notes here there ...hehe
one of my fav zones in wow, remember when i was farming tlpd and listening to this epic music, always keeps me calm, and then tlpd appeared right in front of me it was one of best things that happened to me in wow
In my final days of WoW, almost everyone I knew had quit as time caught up to us. I floated around alone on my Ashes of Al'ar in Storm Peaks with this music playing in the background knowing my time had come too and this time there was no going back. Seemed fit to cap it all after all the years I spent and end it with this epic music soaking it in one last time.... Brings back so many memories, never though I would get to hear it again after all these years. Makes me happy and sad at the same time...
I have gently fallen asleep to this music many, many, many times while camping TLPD. Irony would have it that I found him when I was not actively looking for him.
I think about the friends I had and where I was at in life during wotlk... I look at a man now , thinning hair, career , all the things that come with age. I lost a lot of those friends and my memories sting with an aching sorrow at times. I made friendships and shared some of the most amazing times during wrath. After the expac was over the phone calls to "log on" stopped coming in . It was a pinnacle of happiness in my life as a whole . I feel empty to a degree now.
It's funny how those themes sometimes remind us of very specific moments in WoW or in our lives. Back in 2012 I was leveling in Stormpeaks when my highschool girlfriend arrived in my room. It was late night and we were waiting for my parents to arrive to take her home, so we just laid in bed waiting while listening to this theme. Neither of us said anything, we just kinda laid there listening to it. For some reason this moment stuck with me, even though we split up like 10 years ago - but it's one of the found memories I have of her and of this area
I closed my eyes whilst listening to the beauty of this music, Only to have it interrupted by NPCscan. I opened my eyes, My Heart was racing. Aaaaaand, Vyragosa. It didn't matter, This music kept me going. I still haven't found it, But I shall never give up as long as this music is by my side.
Is it just me or did anyone else just sit and listen to the music while sitting on your mount in some cozy hiding spot, watching the sun set or rise surrounded by all the mountain peaks? The peacefulness of it all was awe inspiring.
Brings back memories of Ulduar and those endless attempts on Yogg+0 watchers! I miss this game and I miss being able to spend all day on a damn video game.
I fly to Ulduar every week for my mount run and I always turn music on going through here, and take the long, scenic route low and around the mountains. The nostalgia is unreal here. It will be bittersweet when the mount eventually drops. I'll have to find some new excuse to come here and fly around like say.. time-lost.
The first time I heard 1:22, I just stopped what I was doing and listened. I remember crying my eyes out afterwards and spamming the music on and off button in sounds to cycle it back through to hear it again
Probably my favourite soundtrack and zone in the game. Spent countless hours here looking for TLPD and grinding rep with the giants for that sweet mammoth. I don't think i'd be able to do that for hours upon hours if not for the music and atmosphere of the Storm Peaks.
After a close knit guild of mine broke apart, I remember flying to the highest mountain I could find. I stood there, with view distance set to max, and let the sadness sink in. I /yelled and /cry’d. I flew back to Dalaran. I’d give anything just to have the old team on vent one last time.
Farmed TMPD for almsot a year...then gave up. Few months after i stopped farming it,i did JC quest in Storm Peaks, and there he was... This music held me throught all those farming hours,so beautiful...
The last truly memorable time I had in wow was the feeling I got when the first track here started playing while I was walking and/or flying through the mountains of the Storm Peaks. One of the best zones for sure.
The exact same spot in the screenshot is where I found the Time-Lost Proto Drake, on a lonely night in Stormpeaks sometime in November 2009. Hearing this music brings me back to those endless hours of trying to find him.

WOTLK in many ways will remain one of the greatest expansions ever in the history of gaming. beautiful music excellent content, everything that we needed was there. God bless WOTLK!
If the wowcraft movies ever goes to the point of reaching the part of Wotlk expac I seriously hope we will hear this music again. Imagine hearing this soundtrack in a movie in 10 years. :O
That section is also my reason to return to this song. I don't know what it is but it reminds me of something deep within. I can't even describe it, or what it reminds me of, but it is a good feeling nevertheless.
I was on hold with blizzard trying to get my authenticator switched over to my new phone and they had this song playing. I didn't want the operator to answer my call just so I could keep listening.
I used to just sit and listen to the music in the zones. This was one of my favorite places to fly around and just enjoy the music. I guess I enjoyed the music more than the gameplay. I'm a music junky and soundtrack music makes my life feel it's worth living. A good game with good music can never be a failure, but man they managed to butcher both.
They complain because most people do not get it in 30 minutes. Not even 30 days. Some, not even 30 weeks or MONTHS. I got my boyfriend his after a week, and my own after a week, too. But I still sympathize and understand that TLPD was not an easy camp during the peak of WotLK (or even now due to CRZ).
Storm Peaks may be my favorite zone in Wrath. The snowy mountains, proto drakes everywhere, the Sons of Hodir, the music. Though you did have to fly through the place rather than walk, flying around those mountains was a cool experience.

Melina Knappe ich hab sei einem halben Jahr nicht mehr gezockt...mir fehlt die Zeit...aber ich hab es echt geliebt...ist ein Stück heile Welt....Nicht wie die reale
This hurts... ;~;
Wow just going through all this wrath music. Really was the best expansion. Come on Legion don't fail me.
True
this soundtrack is so.... angelic..
Thank God Blizzard did one right thing and i can experience this zone 14 years later
liked and favorited. now ill never lose this music again....
Some of the best times in WoW were spent in Storm Peaks griefing TLPD campers.
Wow! Its one of the best songs I have ever heard from Blizzard!
IN THE MOUNTAINS!
Classic!
memories ... where can i buy a ticket back to this ..
So much daily questing in this zone. This or grizzly hills has to be my favourite zone musicwise in this particular expansion.
I loved this expansion, I cannot tell you how excited I am that Wrath is being re-released for Classic!
1:50 Feels like it belongs in LOTR! Powerful and majestic :D
Yeah it totally sounds like LOTR there.
WOTLK in many ways will remain one of the greatest expansions ever in the history of gaming. beautiful music excellent content, everything that we needed was there. God bless WOTLK!
Many were the days I spent camping Skoll/TLPD. Many more were the days I'd fly there just for the music or to chill with Thorim.
Time Lost proto Drake and Skoll flashbacks, i'll miss that man
If the wowcraft movies ever goes to the point of reaching the part of Wotlk expac I seriously hope we will hear this music again.
Imagine hearing this soundtrack in a movie in 10 years. :O
ten years later the movie would still be where Arthas fought Mal'Ganis lol
Just imagine if they put the Time Lost Proto Drake in it...
Me encanta hacer misiones aquí, la música me hace recuerdo al señor de los anillos, más aún al haber encontrado ahí Muradin :')
From 3:05 to 3:48 is the reason I come to this zone everyday and just hum and sing along.
That section is also my reason to return to this song.
I don't know what it is but it reminds me of something deep within. I can't even describe it, or what it reminds me of, but it is a good feeling nevertheless.
Me encantaba, me quedaba en los alto de las cumbres con mi Troll pícaro sentado, escuchando esta melodía......mas de 11 años han pasado
This music is Stunning.
I never went there on m main. Got there with an alt just 2 years ago and I was like wtf :) Fav zone ever.
3:00 I love how this theme plays at Tyrhold in Dragonflight
