Poor sweet Baukje it is never easy watching our 4 legged babies struggle & the toughest part is they can’t tell us exactly what they’re going through,seeing her roll goes straight to the heart & makes you want to reach through the screen & take away her discomfort. It makes me feel much better knowing that B is home again and back to her cheeky self Yvonne please don’t doubt yourself or think you aren’t or didn’t do enough you are an excellent horse guardian and I’m always in awe of both your skills & commitment to your herd.🖤🐎🤗❤️🩹

It's so scary, how quickly an animal's health can deteriorate with certain conditions. If only we could get them to clearly signal us, as soon as they feel discomfort or pain. Instead we have to watch them like a hawk to not miss any little sign 🫣

Colic is one of the scariest ailments of a horse. Thankfully, you were there and spotted it so quickly. A lot of people easily miss the subtle signs of it. I'm glad she recovered thanks to the excellent care from you and the clinic. ❣❣
Yvonne' s horses have been saved on 3 occasions, mostly because she has interacted with them, one on one, from their birth.....and carefully checks them each and every day!
Because they are gently reared, this is easy to do...there is trust!
When Baukje wouldn't get up I almost cried. I kept telling myself she lived thru this. I cant imagine how scared Yvonne must have been.
Baukje is saying thank you for taking such good care of me :) how sweet!!! And how happy we are to see her trotting back to her stall :)
Reintje is so trusting of humans. It was like she understood her foal needed these strangers to help keep Baukje alive.
Reintje is a real cool Mem. No unnecessary fuss. She usually keeps her calm what ever the situation. - Like there at the clinic, she started eating right away. She sure protects her foals if needed - but she is very good at telling when such an occasion is present and when not.
I was thinking the same thing. So many mares would have to be restrained if strangers were touching their young foal. Reintje is so calm and trusting.
It is amazing how well Reintje, Saly....all the horses, understand that Yvonne is there to care for them...horses are, evidently, not only food motivated.....they understand love!
She has such a sweet personality.
Reintje has never known a moment of mis treatment...she and all of Yvonne's horses have trust!

Seeing Baukje clearly in pain brought tears to my eyes. I'm glad you edited this video to end with Baukje back home, looking, and feeling better! For the viewers, the heartache and worry lasted minutes, but for you it lasted days, Yvonne. Hugs!!! Your English is fantastic! Your videos show how much work you put in to explain and inform your "herd" to what is happening in your life and with your lovely horses! Yvonne, it is understandable why it was difficult for you to post this video. It was gut wrenching and difficult to watch Baukje suffering so much, and how worrisome it was for you. But it was joyous to see how much she had improved and seemed normal a few days later! Yet you also have so many other things going on, other horses, animals, family and yourself to take care of. You are a remarkable woman and mean so much to so many of us. I feel so fortunate to have chanced on your site and to be able to see the daily life at the wonderful Stal H!
I'm so grateful Baukje made it thru this frightful night. Like Yvonne, I was also thinking of our beautiful Queen Uniek. So grateful.
I believe that Yvonne...and The Herd,will always have this flash back, the memory of Queen UNIEK' s demise, every time another one of Yvonne' s horses is not well...

You said cognitive perfectly. You are very watchful of your herd, so you immediately notice that Baukje isn't feeling well. I'm so glad you got her to the vet right away. How frightening that night was with sweet Bauke. Her recovery is a relief.
Watching little Baukje's struggles hurt my heart. Thank the Lord that Yvonne was quick so see something was wrong, and to call the vet. Those intensive care facilities are amazing, and they save many lives. Its wonderful, knowing that Baukje is well, and that she & Reintje are home at Stal H once again.

Baukje is such a pretty and sweet little foal. Yvonne is a natural mom and her instincts are so sharp to pick up when one of her babies is not well. Thank god this worked out well. However, the vet bills must be substantial. I am glad I signed up for the monthly coffee donation a few days ago.
I would encourage anyone who is a regular viewer to try help with any donation no matter how small. We all get so much enjoyment from watching Yvonne and her horses and family it is good if we can help out now and then to show our appreciation.

@catsara9114 & @RachelRitzmann-r3g RIGHT?? My friend had a horse we rode every weekend & he was like that. He would wrap his head around her when she hugged his neck & cried. How wonderful to see a foal do it at such a young age ... because they love her so much.
Animals can be so empathetic at times. Some pick up on our emotions and try to comfort us. I know my Maine coon cats do with me. Baukje and Blomke both seem sensitive that way too. What a lucky friend you had to grow up with a horse to lean on So glad Blomke was there to comfort Yvonne. 🐎❤️😻

OMG I wanted to leap into the screen and give a big hug of support ,through all this stress and worry. It never just rains for Yvonne it always seems to pour. This is a Aussie saying we have when things a going wrong. My heart is so happy that it all worked out this time. Such bad memories for you having to go the emergency vet clinic again. It's completely natural you would worry after leaving Uniek there and getting the awful phone call that she was worse. In English, we have a saying: "no news is good news". Hopefully Baukje will recover under yours and Reintje's loving care.
Wer so eng mit seinen Tieren lebt, erkennt immer sehr schnell, wenn etwas ungewöhnlich ist. Großen Dank an Yvonne, die wieder sehr souverän gehandelt hat. Ich hätte keine Nerven, in dieser angespannten Situation zu filmen. Baukje in diesem Zustand zu sehen, war fast unerträglich. Yes, Yvonne, be patient with yourself, especially when you are tending to sick horses or children, and have had little sleep. Even us without a brain injury, we will have difficulty putting the words together, and in our native language.
You have come very far in the time since your accident. Hard work, a supportive environment and your stubborn nature have all helped. We love you and your videos even as you worry about your English and cognitive issues. I hope that the rehab can help you make things a little easier.

Anyone who has ever had children knows how quickly they can get sick out of nowhere. It occurs to me that it is the same with Horses. They're fine until they're not.
I'm just glad that Yvonne has her Friesian Horses in the Country that basically created them. Excellent Vets & Emergency Clinics are nearby. A sick Foal could not be in a better place.
Thankfully, Yvonne can spot the signs of illness right away, and she knows exactly what to do. Goedzo, Yvonne!

Yvonne you are an amazing Lady , you deal with your horses , their illnesses , you deal with the cat up the tree , you deal with Risey being nippy , you deal with a lot of things with your horses , your family , make videos , then on top of all that you deal with cognitive issues ,
then you worry about speaking slowly or english ? or slowly in english ? I think you are nothing short of amazing , I wish life was all happy and fluffy cotton candy but it is not , yes you show the real side of owning horses , well not just any horses but a breed of horse that was almost wiped out. Never apologize for little things like speech , that we do understand how ever it comes out , if not we figure it out quick

The love of our animals is what keeps us going in the painful times. I used to ride when I was younger and just love horses. My favorite being the beautiful Friesian horse. But, I didn’t have the financial means to care for them in my adult life.
Since I was a child I always wanted a Great Dane. They are costly. They have health issues and because of their size their life span is very short. An American Great Dane lives 7 to 10 years. A European Great Dane lives 6 to 8 years. I grieve terribly with each one that has died. The on I have now, my Duke is 6.5 years old and is a European Dane. He has some arthritis pain but overall is still in good health.
And when my precious Duke passes and the grieving has subsided I will get another one. No matter how painful it is I can’t live without a Great Dane in my life.

Your English is great and cognitive is exactly the correct word there. So glad Baujke was okay in the end horses and all our animal friends can cause us so much stress. Foals go down hill so quickly it’s a wonder they ever survive. ❤❤.

Koliek is echt een drama bij paarden, ze laten vaak ook pas zo laat merken als het mis is. Net als bij kleine kittens kan het zo snel mis gaan en goed mis ook... Arm meisje, zal ze een pijn gehad hebben en idd dejavu van Uniek! Gelukkig oogt ze op het eindje weer goed en hopelijk geen terugval gehad!
Ja (huis)dieren houden je lekker bezig he! Kus voor de mooie kleine dame en hopelijk is het nu weer in rustiger vaarwater!
Horses!!! Make you old sometimes but on the flip side is the ultimate joy they give us. Grateful Baujke looks so good after this ordeal. The sweetest is when both foals nuzzle up to Yvonne. It’s the best!
Blomke is a cuddlebug just like Lianne used to be ❤😂🎉😊😊❤

How hard it is to watch precious Baukje struggle. That feeling of helplessness when you know something is terribly wrong and you don't know how to make it better is horrible. I'm so sorry that you had to go through this again, Yvonne. 😔

Our 4 legged family members always seem to know exactly how to scare the living daylights out of us & keep us awake worrying especially when they are experiencing immense pain I’ve been through something similar with 2 of my dogs spending nights up with them trying to manage their pain and it’s not something I’d wish upon anyone it’s beyond scary. Yvonne is one of the strongest most bad ass women I’ve ever seen and though no doubt this brought memories of dear Uniek racing back she took this all in stride immediately making sure to get B the help she needed.
