Like you said, she needs to rest/relax in her new environment , eat well , and meet her herd members . She'll have playmates & lots of room to be frisky. And JR will have 2 eating machines (until Souix foals & makes it 3!) Thank you Emori for the update!

@@nogames8982 Horses need shoes in some places. In the Rocky Mountains, for instance, if you are riding a lot, they need shoes to protect their feet from too much wear, which can make them foot sore.
Imaging tearing your fingernail below the nail bed. That's similar to a horse having their feet worn down too much. Now when I tear my fingernail below my nail bed, I can bandage it up and quit using it for a while. A horse cannot do that. They are a prey animal so even sleep standing up in the wild. But in the winter time I would take mine off, and just trim them every 6-8 weeks. Then in the spring, if I was going to be riding one or more of them a lot, I would put shoes on those horses and just trim the others.

@@alycewich4472 these people do not live in the Rocky Mountains. there are some horses and some circumstances that require shoes. But I think it’s pretty safe to say that a mass majority do not. But people are just automatically thinking that horses need shoes. They don’t. Just like horses don’t need bits. People automatically think they do.

Their horses that are ridden and worked do need shoes because their roads are very rocky. JR mentioned that when Oliver was getting his first shoes. I dont think the brood mares or Bob have them because they're on the grassy areas of their homestead for the most part.

      @Doxymeister 22 дні тому +5

@@jillp3761 From what I've read, shoeing show stock tends to get them to pick their feet up more--kind of exaggerated movement. Similar to walking horse shows only not that bad--those are just awful and it does a lot of damage to feet and leg joints. Anyway, the idea of shoeing draft horses before a big sale is to get fancier movement, thereby supposedly helping get a better price. JMHO, not necessary with babies.

JR mentioned the breeder is the one who told him how tall her sire and dam were, so my guess is there are farriers who specialize in working with the draft horse breeds. This was a big fancy sale of Clydesdale horses only.
It might be the norm with the breed when they are selling as show stock, but I think you're right about the stress on the foals/young stock's joints and legs when dealing with this type of shoe at such an early age. But maybe they only do it during show season and leave them barefoot the rest of the year.

Now that we know that that's what they use in the show ring, she doesn't need any at all for the near future. JR will only put some on if he thinks she will need them, just as he does with the rest of the horses. And if he does, I cannot imagine him using that type of shoe on her. 1:39 I feel like Becca got a hug from Nattie right here!! That neigh was so heartwarming!!!
3:51 Instead of NomNom, she was feeling more, ChompChomp!!!
5:25 Ohhhhh, I love her neighing back!!!
    5:29 Wow, she's so calm.❤
I'm so happy for Nattie, your family, all of us viewers, and of course, Oliver getting to run the pasture with this baby girl!!! If you have a writer in the family, they need to write a children's book about Oliver coming to the farm, his story of being saved, healed, and restored through our father's love, God. Then, the story of Nattie and how everything is in the hands of our Lord, who knows what's best for us, ALL, but we have to trust in him and his timing because a few videos back, not only did I comment about how God's hand and timing would bring the right horse into your life, but sooooo many other viewers said the same!! Just like Oliver, Nattie has truly been sent from God. It's such an awe inspiring story of God's love and timing, plus, how our faith pulls us through life's disappointments, sickness, and times of grief. I truly see a series of books, and know that I had to share that seed with you, since he's put that on my heart many times, but today it was stronger, so here's the seed, how it will be cared for, who knows??!!

Yes please, someone in the family write their stories. Self publish if necessary cause you know your viewers will purchase the books. And you have all the photos you need due to Emori for any books.
Emori your photography skills are amazing. You could also put together a coffee table book of just photos of all the horses and other animals and scenery. It would make a great Christmas gift!!

I absolutely agree with the children’s books. Emory has such a beautiful turn of phrase and a gorgeous reading voice. I think she could write the books and also do audio books. They would be so precious. I could listen to Emory all day. ❤❤❤

What a beautiful girl! She is a fine looking horse.
A business associate of mine has Clydesdale horses and Arabians. He has one Clydesdale named Big Jake who is 26 years old 20 hands high and tops off 2,350 pounds. He is massive in size.
Every morning when I drive down the road to the office past him, he runs over to the fence near where I park my pickup regardless of where he is in the pasture.. He expects his daily treat of a few sugar cubes, or carrots or apples or water Mellon. If I forget the treats, he pouts. I have spoiled him. He is also very protective of the other Clydesdales. Jake loves to get baths and be brushed.
I suspect this girl will grow to about 1600-1700 pounds and about 16 hands high. She seems well natured and very happy. Y'all are lucky you got her.

It makes me tear up to see such a beautiful bunch of people or family that love animals so much. This little girl is a handful to care for and feed and doctor, so it isn't easy. Once more my faith in human beings wins this one and may God himself bless and keep not only this little beauty, but the family that so lovingly took her in cares for her. Just beautiful the good some people can still do in this world.

I really liked hearing this man’s horse experience & sensitivity regarding this young Clydesdale. I love this breed, my daddy told me about these giant, clever, horses that hauled beer barrel trailers in Glasgow,, when my father was a young boy. They’re very smart, with quite a sense of humour regarding how they react to situations they’re not to hip about.
Glad your family got this little beauty.
