I think that's fairly underrated. I know she's better known back home in the UK, but still nothing like as highly rated as she should be.

He said that Nirvana’s enormous success meant that record companies were suddenly trying to sign young Guitar Bands, and Radiohead was a Young Guitar Band. Pulp started way before Nirvana, obviously, but their big successes came after Nirvana made it big in 1991. Nirvana was like The Beatles in that Record Companies were signing “similar artists” that were playing their type of music. PJ Harvey DEFINITELY fit into that category. I love PJ Harvey, by the way.
I made the mistake of completely failíng to see the immense potential of this amazing performer when this album came out, as it didn't stand out all that much from other stuff I was listening to. She's easily the greatest British performer to appear in the 90s and she keeps on getting better and better.
