Very nice practical panel! I really like that i-pad to 375 to g3x system, it's nice, simple and straight forward. You've really expanded what the plane can do and it'll do it safely!
Thanks for the video . This is almost exactly what I want to do with my upcoming RANS S21 build . I was thinking an iPad would be more useful than a second G3X . I also need a NAV radio to satisfy the more stringent IFR equipment rules in Canada .
That is an excellent motto! I really battled with adding the NAV/COM for the VOR/ILS. 99% of my flying will be GPS. I decided to not have any regrets leaving something out.
I have panel envy now. You have a lot more than my little 152's panel has. The only interesting thing on my panel is the little gauge that show how fast I am pedaling. Is there anything on your panel that tells you where to find a good restaurant after you land?
I look that stuff up online. The avionics panel doesn't really check what restaurants are available. Foreflight is a good way to go to figure that out.
WOW! The last time I flew was in 1984 and I never even had DME, this really changed since then. Eight years ago I had a stroke, so I guess I wouldn’t be able to fly again and I miss it so much. I’m thinking about getting an instructor for an hour and tell him I have over 800 hours and if he’s cool enough to let me fly, what would you think about it? You are a great instructor so I’m wondering if it’s possible?
Thank you for your response to my post, I will definitely let you know how it goes. I appreciate you replying, love your videos please do some more flying videos.
Beautiful panel. I just did mine in my RV9. What mount did you use for the iPad? Is it a Ram mount with a suction cup or did you screw the base into the panel?
It’s called a “pivot mount”. We use them at my airline. Great product. Very secure. I bought a mount that bolts on to the panel. You can also get suction cup mounts. The iPad clicks securely into place and releases easily.
I believe so. We ordered a sheet for over $200 (to get exactly what we wanted). One of the stickers was defective and came apart when my mechanic took it off the sheet. We called the company and they wanted another $200 to reprint the sheet for that one defective sticker. Kind of frustrating. We ended up fixing it another way.
Hey Jim, great panel! I have an RV-7 and am contemplating a panel upgrade similar to yours. Did you do the work or did you hire someone? How much did all of this cost?
Awesome panel upgrade, beautiful set up! I bet it makes the RV6 feel like a whole new plane
It does seem completely different.
Too cool man!!! Like Christmas in febuary
Absolutely awesome panel. Eating my heart out.
One hell of a beautiful experiential!
Thanks very much!

It’s been working out great so far. No regrets!
Great! Pity about the glare - please post an update with little les direct sun, please. Love it!!!
I was out flying at sunset yesterday and everything looked much better (no glare). I'll try and get some better shots!

@@jetpylot7523 This setup has a VOR/ILS incorporated into the Com on the panel.
Yah , I saw that . Perfect for my needs . What Nav antenna ? Archer ?
@@jetpylot7523 I really have no idea.
buy once, cry once! Looks nice.

That looks great! I want a G3X, but I'm going to wait until the 9A is complete. Your panel looks fantastic!
Thanks! Much better deal on the G3X when it's experimental (as you know). No regrets spending the extra money.
Dang ballin out an RV6
Things got crazy.
Nice plan and panel
Awesome change, enjoy
Got to love Garmin ❤

Nice Panel... I didn't know that you had that Experimental ?
Thanks';-)
We have had this plane for 18 months. We still have the 177 (for when 2 seats isn't enough, and for flight training).
Beautiful panel. What was the cost?
About $48,000. I did add the VOR/ILS which added $4K. You could probably skip that.
Very Nice

Definitely go fly. A good instructor will let you fly most of the flight!

What is the name of the shop that did this amazing work?
My mechanic has a relationship with a Garmin dealer that allows him to work for them. He does a great job.
yea he did an amazing job! do you do acrobatics with the airplane @@quinnjim

@@quinnjim thanks! Would you mind letting me in on who the company was so I can avoid them? They don’t sound very customer service oriented.

What shop did you take it to? I have a 7A and this is very close to what I am looking to get done.

Hey Jim, great panel! I have an RV-7 and am contemplating a panel upgrade similar to yours. Did you do the work or did you hire someone? How much did all of this cost?
I hired a guy. $48K plus the old radios I traded in to him. That also included the condition inspection, a couple new tires and a flap motor.
wooooooooooo
Where did you get your panel ?
Private mechanic at KDPA. Mtech aviation.
What iPad mount did you get?
@@ShaneWilkes-l7t Pivot Mount. Works great.
