I ate low carb for a year 18/19 and had that initial 20 lb loss followed by only a 10 lb loss for the next 10 months and I was never ever in strong ketosis. Weight can back since then. In the past 4 months I’ve added fasting and am able to monitor and push myself into stronger ketosis by adjusting some behaviors. Just recently, I’m bouncing back into ketosis between meals in my eating windows very much unlike a few years ago. I had a lot of changes in the past 4 months that are only now starting to show themselves. The fasting really revealed how my choices blocked ketosis for well over a day and is really helping me take the mystery out of my lack of weight loss.

My experience with weight loss has been a roller coaster. I successfully lost 15 kilograms and managed to restore all my medical markers - blood sugar, high blood pressure, and cholesterol, to healthy levels. However, I found myself regaining the weight over and over again. This cycle of weight loss and regain is incredibly frustrating and disheartening.
The fundamental question remains: Why do we regain weight? In my case, I believe it is because the mind has a tendency to 'forget the past,' leading me to approach eating as a new experience, completely disconnected from my history. During this process, I do not recall having had diabetes or high blood pressure."

Yes I agree...memory loss..disconnecting from past behaviour leads to weight gain..dential same as an addict..wanting drugs and repeat past strong behaviours..to feed brain again with sugar thinking it can take a little....just a little then I loose weight....but...is galning...0 sugar and carbs...much needed for food carb addicts...my own experience..

I am trying your weekly 3 day fasting for 8 weeks regimen. I was just rereading your book while doing my first 4 day fast and decided the "3 day thing" sounded doable to me now. I lost 50 lbs 2 years ago and have been at that weight for too long. I seem to be stuck so am hoping this protocol might get me unstuck. I just seem to be gaining and losing the same 3 lbs over and over again. I should be able to do the next 4 weeks fairly easily but then will be camping with friends for a week a might miss that week. Do you think this will upset my new "apple cart" by only doing my daily 18hr fasts instead of my longer one that week????

Generally very helpful information, thank you. Please explain why and how a BS level that extremely low is healthy and safe. That level was always treated as an emergency all the 40 years I worked as a nurse! You are the ONLY online MD that continues make this type of claim. Observing you is very telling. Generally you become very jittery and your habit of rambling rapid speech and going off topic into side tangents increases dramatically. You become pressured for food intake as you admitted in this video. If my BS was that low I would definitely pass out and be at risk of organ failure. I can not tolerate a BS lower than 90. Any patient in any hospital or nursing home environment WILL be administered some form of rapidly absorbed sugar like glucagon injection, dextrose IV etc. Please get honest and warn your viewers about why BS this low is considered very very dangerous.

⚕️ - STRUGGLING BUT NOT REALLY STRUGGLING? .. with my first four consecutive 72hour fasts my blood sugar levels averaged arounf 72 {as low as 64 and as high as maybe 85}. Traveled coming out back in Germany, almost done with my third consecutive 72 hour fast and this morning my blood sugar level was 102. For the first two this time I was pretty much right at 98, 97, 99. I don't understand. There's no way I'm prediabetic. (Started a year and a half ago at 243.6 lbs. - now at 170-ish:: definitely losing better belly fat and fat in general with the 72 hour fasts)
