I'm in the same situation kinda. I'm running away from my family and the city I've grown up in because I've been so unhappy but honestly I don't see it as a bad thing - If you're sad you have to do something about it, and I'm trying to create a fresh start for myself in a new city, and find new happiness

Currently binging your videos! Keep up the great work! Don't know why you don't have more subscribers, but don't worry they will come with the quality content you put out.

I needed this so much. I'm living in my parents' home when I come home from university, and I feel the need to move away from everything, change my environment. I feel like I learn my lessons the hard way, through the extremes. I'm so glad I saw this video to gain a different perspective on this, thank you for sharing ❤️

I'm in the same boat! it's hard because you're trying to develop yourself without your parents trying to hold your hand all the time

Thanks for sharing your story... I just found you on UA-cam, and love your openness and the way you share your thought process and growth. I lived in NY for 4 years myself for a different phase of my life as well. Yes, transformational.

I had to absolutely comment on this video. I know it’s an old vid but I found you in the midst of not only trying to better myself in life but in 2020. Crazy era lol anyway, I feel a lot of what you went through to better yourself I have or am going through too. I’ve always wanted to start documenting in videos my growth, not only to help people trying to grow up as well but also so that we can hold each other accountable. When you mentioned that my mind blew. I’m really glad I found your channel☺️

I'm so glad to see and hear you sharing your experiences..!! I can definitely relate in regards to the relationship with my mother. Although in my case, there wasn't/isn't a happy ending.. My entire upbringing and family life was dysfunctional, with parents who didn't want me to begin with. My parents divorced before I could even remember, when I was 2-3 years old. I never had a father or father figure, and I still don't have much of a relationship with my mother. Communication is basically non-existent except for shallow exchanges. She simply doesn't want to talk about anything important or significant. Because of that dysfunction, I still don't have my shit together in life, and I'll go so far as to say my mother doesn't either.
In regards to relationships, I never really had a meaningful relationship. Specifically in part for the reasons stated above. I've been on the receiving end of unrequited love.. That's about it.. haha.. Been in love only once in my life, so I guess I'm lucky in the sense..
I, like you, would have LOVED to move away, but I, unlike you, didn't have the capability to. I'm basically estranged to my large family, with the exception of a few people, not friends with the people before, even the actual friends who have eventually drifted apart. I don't have much in my life right now, but focusing on making a career.. I guess that's the best thing I can do for myself even if I don't have other people. The sad part is looking back to when my extended family was still very much together, and hanging out with friends where time seemed to go by so fast..
Anyways, Ima go binge watch you videos now..!! haha.. Glad to have stumbled upon "Your Story".. =0

I sort of stumbled across your channel today and I clicked on this video cause I was in a very similar situation a few years ago. I was struggling in school, my bf at the time dumped me for someone else, and home life wasn't great. My mom meant well, but she was pushing me to find a job and help with the rent because she was laid off from her job three years before. I was expected to meet all these standards and to keep my cool and I was drowning. I needed support and I wasn't getting it. In the end, I just snapped and told my Dad to buy me a ticket to LA. This was six years ago.
I didn't take the move well at first (I became a recluse for like two years), but I'd like to think that some good came from me running away. Some things have gotten worse, but other things have improved, like my relationship with my mom. I learned the importance of cutting toxic people out of my life and to stick to my convictions, and I learned how to better deal with stress. I slip up occasionally, but I feel I'm in a much better place now than I was six years ago. The move was definitely something I needed, even if it took a while to get there. Will I go back home? I dunno, time will tell.
Thank you for sharing your story with us, and you have another subscriber to your channel :)

Wow 🖤 love this vid. Ironically I live in SF & dream of living in NY (opposite of you! lol)... I actually don't really dream of it but every time I visit NYC I feel refueled? & I'm still at home w/my Mother, a little diff situation bc I moved back in after my father passed & am always trying to be the 'best daughter' possible. I think that's why I relate to your videos a lot! 🤞🏼 cross your fingers for me, maybe one day I'll make it out there 😊

I'm glad you made amends with people and yeah it does feel good when you do that. Usually when people return home, they wouldn't do what you did, so I'm really glad you did. :) Was it difficult or did you just went straight into it.
