I had something similar. I scraped out the mortar pretty deep, wet the crap out of it, and stuffed a bunch of fresh mortar in. Waited 3 days and plastered. Not saying I know what I'm doing (i don't), but it's still holding 3 years later 🤞

What plaster did you use on brick / block work? I think you suposed to use hardwall or at least bonding. Then wait for that to go off, then skim over the top with multifinish. Brick / block is a very high suction background that combined with being a very hot day.. Multifinish or magic mix? multifinish with a bit of bonding, wont do the job.
Hi m8 Ur right I sbr the wall twice then bonded Should of used hardwall because of suction U can plaster over bonding once it's gone off Roughly 2 hours Then sbr whole wall Then used. Muiltinish two coats
Is she paying you to do that? You have pointed out that the jobs going to need substantially more than builders foam and some skrim to sort it out. Why continue? If you're not willing to do it properly? Tell her it's more than your willing to do instead of ripping a shit plaster off and putting another one back on? No pun intended
