Just for a record for all, who worries about max memory limits on Dell M4600.
I have the laptop with 4 RAM slots, it can take up to 32 GiB of RAM.
Only 4-core Core i7 models support that.
According to the docs, if we talk about 32 GiB, this laptop can't use DDR2 1600 MHz memory sticks, only 1333 MHz ones.
But, in real, it can leverage 4x8 = 32 Gib of Samsung M471B1G73EB0-YK0 RAM with no prob. Each stick is 8 GiB and works on 1600 MHz, e.g. 4 slots with 8 GiB of RAM in each.
Othes specs:
- BIOS version is A17 (05/12/2017)
- OS Linux Mint 19.3 (based on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS)

Nice video, thanks. I noticed that your BIOS had the dreaded A08 version which has a signed firmware bug that in the majority of cases prevents updates to the BIOS. The only solution I have found is to replace the motherboard. That's been an expensive job in the past, but recently new genuine Dell M4600 motherboards have been showing up on Ebay for about $20 US. Just install the motherboard, enter your service tag upon bootup, and you can update your Bios to the latest version. Just make sure you buy a NEW, genuine Dell motherboard. Hope your computer is still running well.
i have installid win 10 ,ram 12 gb and exp gdc with gtx 1060 6 gb graphic card ,this laptop still great for using 24 hours non stop

So glad to see windows 10 works fine on this PC. I have bought one from my friend a while ago, but never attempted the upgrade, because I've read there are multiple issues with drivers. But even on windows 7 the pc locks up sometimes when switching off, due to some incompatibilities with certain updates. I am therefore going to try and update it to windows 10. Hope it works fine, because otherwise this is an excellent laptop, perfectly fit for my needs.

My DELL M4600 (i7 2920xm Extreme edition) gives out during stress testing of the processor in Dell SupportAssist +90-92 degrees! The cooler rotates at 4200 rpm.
Change thermal paste on the processor? Or is this temperature acceptable at 100% processor load? The temperature in the room is +28 degrees Celsius.
I noticed on video, that your laptop's BIOS version is whether A08, or A06. Dell rolled out newer BIOSes for this notebook series. I advise A17. There is also A18, but it contains security modifications for Intel Core processors, which might slow them down and no any valuable additions, if compare to A17.

Did I see it correctly on video: your Dell Precision M4600 has 32GiB of RAM onboard, which are in 1600MHz mode? I'm curious, cause I have the similar M4600 laptop with 16 (8x2) GiB of 1600 MHz RAM onboard. I want to upgrade it to 32GiB by bying the same 8x2 memory pair, but tech specs to this laptop prevent me from doing that... There is stated in specs, that this laptop supports 32GiB of RAM only in 1333MHz mode! And I have doubts, if it powers on with 4x8 1600MHz memory items at all...
(Important addition for the readers: 32GiB of RAM support only those M4600 models, supplied with quad-core processors!)

I tried to update my m4800 with Windows 10 Pro and there was a freeze problem, mouse and keyboard didn't worked. Do you have some ideas how I could fix the freeze problem?

Yes, you can: the top GPU M4600 does support is Quadro2000M. I bought one second-hand and never looked back. It features 2GB and 192 cuda cores (not much for present standards, but enough to feel the difference with Quadro1000M).

Sorry, but I don't really remember.
It has the both options, legacy as well as UEFI boot, the particular laptop in this video is set at legacy boot in the setup as you can see at 25:49.
