Shatgames hasn't represented Sega well since day one with their dollar tree emulation, especially as it relates to sound. I hate to think if they tried to emulate Sega CD and Sega 32x.
@@marccaselle8108 Dude, you're going to give me nightmares. The very thought off assgames and 32x emulation gives me hair standing cold shivers. We need to start a petition asking Sega for a Master System mini. I would be will to write it myself and help anyway I can. It would really be cool to ask for a Game Gear mini that's more than a collectable and novelty. M2 is behind the Genesis/Mega Drive mini and they would be the go to guys for a Master System mini.
Yeah definitely agree as far as the Genesis/mega drive goes. I would think at the very least they could put out a collection digitally but that would be about as much as I expect from them and even that would be a long shot.
I totally agree with you on your lists in parts 1 and 2. SEGA could gift us with the return of the Master System by releasing a Classic Mini model. It would be perfect for my collection!!! Great videos!!!
The biggest technical issue with the SMS Mini would be the fact that a lot of the PAL-only games would need to run at 50 hertz to be authentic. That could cause some issues with older HD TVs that kinda want 60. Beyond that, I would even want some of those Brazil-only games translated from Portuguese. At least give us Street Fighter II' for the Master System.
I've been pushing for this ever since I got my Genesis Mini on 9/9/19. When I was a kid, nobody I knew had the Sega Master System (practically EVERYONE had an NES), and so no one talked about it at school. Until the late 2000's, as far as I knew, the Genesis was SEGA's first console. The reason I want a Master System Mini is so I can finally try out some of these 8-bit games I've missed out on all these years.
I had a 3D printed master system mini created for a raspberry pi. It's perfect and sits with my other minis. Also I did a Saturn with Odroid Xui computer inside. Saturn needs more power than the raspberry pi.
8:56 As many may know, the Japanese Master System had an FM sound feature that several games took advantage of. And most of those games retained the FM sound data on US and European releases, though those regions didn't get the FM sound module or built in hardware. I you play those games using an emulator or FM supported SD cart, you can access that FM sound. Phantasy Star was one of the only games (maybe the only game?) to have the unused FM sound data removed for western releases, meaning you can't hear the Phantasy Star FM soundtrack if you're using a western ROM (the only ones in English) of the game, even on an emulator, clone console, or SD cartridge that supports FM sound. Which is a real shame because the Phantasy Star FM soundtrack is one of the best on the Master System. There's a ROM hack of the Japanese version that adds English, so you can play in English with FM sound. It also lets you increase the gold and Exp you get from battle by x2 or x4, greatly reducing the amount of grinding you have to do. Phantasy Star was revolutionary for the time, but if you want to play it today, I highly recommend this ROM hack. If they were to make a MS mini with Phantasy Star, these options, at least the FM sound for English, would be great. In fact, allowing FM sound for all English games would be awesome.
Imagine if they do it and offer an FM option and also a sprite flicker removal option. Would be sick. You reminded me of so many great games on the SMS!
I'm with you... Flicker-free playability of games like R-Type, Fantasy Zone and Double Dragon would be so epic. Likewise the FM option as you said, would be great. I love my Power Base Converter for the Megadrive, and was secretly hoping the extra power of the Megadrive might get rid of the distracting sprite flicker on some Master System games (sadly not, I learned... still love it tho😁).
I grew up with the Sega Master system it’s one of my favourite console and have so many great memories especially watching this video going through the games
I still dream of a Dreamcast Mini, Sega's last console is a legendary piece of technology Sega has to let the console rise again, the fan base still exists today.
Last year, here in the UK, a streaming TV was released known as Sky Glass. You can add shows to your library but you can’t record! I feel you can’t rely fully on streaming. Over-the-air, cable and satellite TV all still have a place in the modern world, they’re especially good for if your internet goes down! Because of this, I came up with an idea for my own TV: I would call it SmartVision, it would have antenna and satellite tuners by default, be modular so you can easily replace a broken HDMI port, add composite AV etc, let you record shows, stream Netflix, Disney+ etc, let you add shows to a list like Sky Glass, and I would also include 50 Sega Master System games! You’d be able to play them using either the remote or Bluetooth Sega controllers (sold separately) The game lineup? Alex Kidd in Miracle World (English and Korean versions would be available) Alex Kidd in Shinobi World Sega Chess (gotta include a few casual titles!) Columns Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine Phantasy Star (English, Japanese and Brazilian Portuguese versions would be available) Scramble Spirits Masters of Combat Virtua Fighter Animation R-Type Castle of Illusion Legend of Illusion Deep Duck Trouble Dynamite Dux Sensible Soccer European Championships Desert Strike: Return To The Gulf Road Rash Sonic The Hedgehog Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Sonic Spinball Sonic Chaos Sonic Blast Out Run Space Harrier After Burner Hang On Astro Warrior and Pit Pot Golden Axe Warrior Shinobi Streets of Rage Streets of Rage 2 Basketball Nightmare Not the whole lineup, but you can see where I’m going with this
Me too! Sega should have started their minis with the master system. And the game gear minis were neat but should have been launched with a bigger gear mini or a nomad mini in a usable size.
As someone who completely missed the Master System, I didn't even know it existed until I was an adult, I would absolutely love to have something like this. The only change I would request? Please put a Pause button on the controller itself xD
lol fair, it was not very fun to have to get up and press the pause button when i needed to take a whiz, then unpause and walk backwards to my seat as i start playing again.
Back in the day the secret was to have the console right next to you while you play like an old school Atari 2600. It also allowed for game changes and resets easier so it never really bothered me. That said, still a great suggestion ^_^
@@dtester sadly wasnt an option for me as a kid, i had my dad's entertainment center and that is where the TV and SMS were allowed to be, nowhere else and i was not allowed to be less than 5 ft away from it, so i had to sit as far away as my controller cord let me.
I was completely oblivious to the Sega MasterSystem as a kid but it does look like a great system. I'd support it for sure if one were released. A lot of those games look great! Sega needs to hire you as their spokesperson because you have a way of painting Sega in a real positive light.
The Wonder Boy series is an absolute necessity. My list would include Phantasy Star, Rastan, and R-Type as must haves also; with Alex Kidd in Shinobi World, Castle of Illusion, Choplifter, Kenseiden, Master of Darkness, The NewZealand Story, both Power Strike games (I do not care that the second game is a PAL exclusive), Rambo, Streets of Rage, and Time Soldiers on the 'druthers list. Chuck Rock II and Road Rash are also excellent.

@@ostiariusalpha definitely. The mini ms sells like hot cakes in Europe. That thing was massive here in the uk. I for sure wouldn't turn my nose up at it.
Man such a device has so much more appeal than an N64 mini does. Especially cool to see SMS games I've not come across before in here despite having an extensive library of games for it "back in the day".
I am one of the 9 people on the planet who have never played a Legend of Zelda game, but i loved Golden Axe Warrior. It's super underrated. So many of these I fully agree with, and there are tons I never even knew were on the MS. I didn't have much munny growing up, but I would have loved Rampage, Ninja Gaiden, R Type, and so many others! Awesome list.
Good list of games. I would probably add Hang-On, Alex Kidd: The Lost Stars, and Alex Kidd in Shinobi World for sure. Might add Astro Warrior or Aerial Assault to get another shooter. Or one of the Power Strikes if the license was available. I would also hide Snail Maze somewhere in there too.
Christmas 1990 - ish: I asked my mom for the Sega Genesis and kept asking her SPECIFICALLY Sega GENESIS. Instead she got the Master System because she said it was less than the Genesis and included a game built in. (The Mentioned Alex Kid in Miracle World) That game is now on steam and downloadable. It plays in both UPDATED and classic graphics modes. I now regret leaving behind the retro consoles I had back then.
I'd definitely get the Sega Mastersystem mini if it ever came out, this was my childhood right there. I never played the original Phantasy Star on the MS and I don't own the Wii or switch.
Phantasy star 1 is great, I just played through it last month (I'm into retro rpg, love these games). But man the dungeons are hella difficult, even with online walkthroughs; I can't imagine how kids did it back in the day.
These are good picks. Yes, Pro Wrestling is clunky and looks bad , but I had hours and hours of fun with it and I'm glad you included it. Lots of must-haves in here. I would need The Ninja and Alien Syndrome on mine. US Master System fans are a niche market, but I bet there's more people who would want this now than wanted the original - those few of us who had one originally PLUS many other retro game aficionados who have learned about it in subsequent years but haven't gotten their hands on one.
To be honest, the Master System / Mark III is probably the only classic retro system left that we could get a "mini" version of. We aren't going to get any systems with analogue sticks (so anything N64 and later) and most of the rest have been done at this point (at least the ones that were popular enough that they would actually sell). A Saturn mini might be possible, but that console is notoriously difficult to emulate, so maybe not. At the same time however, Sega seem perfectly happy to forget the Master System ever existed for the most part, and would rather push their Mega Drive and classic arcade libraries instead, so it seems unlikely it'll happen.
Good enough list, has enough of everything where old fans will get some of their favourites and new fans get something of everything. Every possible list will have some people saying 'but what about?.....' 'but you missed!.....' I grew up in Oceania where the Master System reigned supreme over the NES, so we got a lot of the best games that didn't get US release. Wonderboy 4 being one of them for example, so good to see it on there cos its an unknown gem.
42 games is a small selection for a potential SMS mini. SMS games are small size, so we can easily hope for 60 games. many of them are not in your selection., so here are some additionnals : Aerial assaut - Danan jungle fighter - Submarine attack - RC grand prix - Enduro racer -Miracle warriors - Alex kidd in shinobi world -Battle out run - Power strike 1 & 2 ...
This was quite the trip down memory lane for me. I got a master system for Christmas when I was 11 yrs old. I was kind of disappointed because all of my friends were playing Nintendo. I gave it a chance though and came to love games like Wonderboy, Double Dragon, Bomber Raid, Hang On, and YES Safari Hunt! (the 2 former having come with the system). It's funny because years later in high school my older brother and me would fire up Double Dragon on the sega and play oldies music, and just hang out again, like we once did: We never did that with the Nintendo I had so wanted. So many happy memories of so many fantastic games, thanks for reminding me of all these classic games I'd somehow forgotten. Seeeeega.
The SMS was the first console I owned growing up, and yet I'd never played most of these games. I think the only one of this list that I owned was R-Type, which was amazing. A lot of games on this list look incredible. Well beyond what I thought that system was capable of. I would absolutely love a chance to play them all on an SMS mini.
You totally won me over and I want one more than anything now. And I agree with what you said at the end completely, and will try to do my part in letting them know we want this to be a reality. It can happen. It needs to happen. That's for sure!
Would absolutely love a master system mini. Great lineup you chose too. Very realistic, but packed with a good mix of hits and under the radar picks like Ultima.
I too would love to see this happen. I get it that the Master System was more popular overseas, but retro gaming and the mini-console market are always going to have an audience. Plus, it'd be a welcome change of pace to see Sega acknowledge another part of their history, and take a break from the Genesis.
Some great choices there - I’d have to add fantasy zone, Astro warrior, my hero, hang on and enduro racer. Possible some of the ‘great’ sports games too.
Fantasy zone is rad, I used to watch my dad play it because I couldn't get as far as he could lol. I just bought the Sega ages version on the switch last week(but I'm addicted to phantasy star so haven't given it a fair go yet). However that seems to be an arcade port, I'm not sure what differences there are. I did buy a 3ds Sega collection a while ago that has a version on there too that apparently has a 2 player mode but I haven't really played that, I find the 3ds a bit uncomfortable to use, and the kids are always leaving the 3ds flat when I want to use it lol.
Thunderblade on the Master System was that one game I played a lot on my cousin's console. We always tried to get as further as possible as we passed the controller.
That’s a great list. Really representative of the overlooked Master System library. Some omissions that I would have to include on my dream lineup: - definitely Kenseiden over Spellcaster. Kenseiden is HUGE in Brazil; - Land Of Illusion is my favorite SMS game. It would have to be in there; - Virtua Fighter Animation should ease up the lack of fighting games on the platform. And I really find it superior to the Mega Drive version; - I would put The Lucky Dime Caper over Deep Duck Trouble; - Taz Mania for the SMS is a personal favorite of mine, and it is often overlooked and don’t get the love it deserves. And, for the bonus games… it just would have to include the Tec Toy port of Street Fighter II for the Master System. That just screams bonus game on a Master System mini.
Great overview my dude! You make a good and logical argument for something like this to get released! I hope someone at SEGA see’s this video, shows their higher ups and strongly considers a release!
This would actually have me intrigued to witness, because TecToy have released (and I believe still are) *_a lot_* of new SMS versions over the years. Starting at the 2000s, the consoles were mostly reliant on emulation (not dissimilar to current mini consoles) and had loads of built-in titles (that I totally doubt they had the rights to republish). This has at the same time the appeal to sell like water in the desert, due to the console's appeal in Brazil, or not sell anything at all, because it'll probably come here at a prohibitive price due to currency conversion (unless TT makes another deal with Sega to produce the units locally, like the good ol' days) and with very few titles compared to the many versions TT have already released, so almost no one would feel tempted to buy it.
The Master system was my first and favorite system. The one game I used to come back to all the time was Action Fighter. I played that all the time even though I was really bad at it.
Until you actually look through the master systems library you realise yes theres enough quality games for a solid reason to release a mini. If they released it with an option for standard or FM sound for games that supported it (R-Type etc etc) would be awesome.
Fantastic lineup of games, I would totally buy this if they released it. The only major problem I see from Sega's end is that not a lot of people had this system in USA and Japan, so while fans of retro games would be excited it wouldn't get any of the "nostalgia" bucks from casual fans in these markets like the NES and Super NES classics did. Still, a small run of the Master System mini I think would be successful, especially if it comes with favorites like Streets of Rage and Sonic on the box. I think some people would buy it out of curiosity too because here is a system with Streets of Rage and Sonic that they have never seen and never played.
Master System was my first console, I asked for an NES for Christmas but to my surprise Santa brought me a Master System because he thought the graphics were better. I made the best of it but I also envied my friends with NES because I thought and still think the game library was better. That said, the Master System still has a special nostalgic place in my heart.
I have been saying Sega screwed up by putting out a Genesis mini and ignoring the Master System. While I never had a Master System, I had friends who had one and I loved it. I loved Wonder Boy, Choplifter & Outrun. Oh, and the OG Shinobi is the easiest game to beat the bosses in. The hard part is getting to them. To beat the bosses, when they show up on screen, just start repeatedly pressing the pause button on top of the console at about half-second intervals until the boss is beaten. You never actually have to fight them when you do that.
Didn't know about Penguin Land. I was in the mood for a decent action puzzle type game and it looks like what I wanted! Plus it has a level editor neat!
You make some great points. Another one is that they could probably hit a price point of $60-$80 while maintaining the quality of the product, thus making it a "why not" for anyone who didn't already consider it a "must have".
I dont' always agree with you, but your content is great. Just in example the inclusion of games that you think the Mini should have, even of games you personally don't like. Just because the games need to be here, as they were very popular. Really like this kind of content that does not try to push own ideas only.
Fully agree. Ms mini would be good, and they should do "packs" on cards like the ms1, so you can buy an extra 10 games for say £10 etc. Add to the collection that kinda stuff.
Will I ever forget that xmas morning, where under the tree, was Quartet. Tainted with personal nostalgia, still my favourite for the system...and top ten of all time.
Amazing game list...I would want them all on there. Also thinking of: Alf, Double Dragon, California Games, all the 'Great' sports games, Poseidon Wars, Space Harrier 3D, Golvellius, Rocky, Kung Fu Kid, Spy vs. Spy, The Ninja, Astro Warrior, Alien Syndrome, Ghostbusters, Teddy Boy, Transbot, Global Defense....wait...this is probably almost the whole library. Sega...DO IT...the WHOLE library (including light phased games that would only work when plugged into a CRT)! What a selling point this would be! Even it were 80 or 90% of the library...this mini would stand out!!!
I would buy one in a heartbeat! Hell, after buying a Genesis Mini I ended up picking up the Sega collection for PS3, which basically has the same games on it, specifically after I learned it had Master System games on it. I am in one trillion percent in agreement about having some classic Game Gear titles like GG Shinobi on it. That way one of the games I would want on it we could get the superior Game Gear version instead: Batman Returns! Though there are a few more Master System games I would want to see on here: Golveleus, Psychic World (as a physical copy is ridiculously expensive), and if they could get the license Predator 2!
If they do make one of these, they SHOULD add a designated PAL option in the Mini's set up options, I say this because the Mega Drive/Genesis Mini never had an option to play the games in 50Hz and I grew up in a PAL region and I remember the games running a little slower. This feature costs nothing and should be included even if it's just for nostalgia old time sake. The Master System Mini should be set at 60Hz by default but by choice the option for 50Hz/60Hz should be included. The Analogue MEGA SG had an option for PAL and that was made in America so Sega should do the same. Every contingency should be covered.
Sadly, given the inclusion of Golden Axe Warrior, perhaps that would prevent Golvellius being added, however there needs to be space for Fantasy Zone II. Don't forget some of the Card games as well - Hang On is a mere 32KB (or 0.25 *Mega Power* !).
I collect minis for having a bigger library of legally licenced games. I mostly play them on an emulator frontend on my custom built arcade. I haven't collected Sega minis because I can get far more games on the digital collections for a lot cheaper. Sega games are quite accessible except for Master System. Saturn and Sega-CD games used to be accessible when they were available on CD-ROM. Master System was an awesome system. The games shown here are an excellent resume. My cousin had a Master System adapter on his Sega Genesis and we used to play plenty of Master System games on it.

I think a master system app on Nintendo switch online is more likely.. Im sure 8bitdo has a master system controller that works with the switch
Would have for sure added fantasy zone 1 and 2, the maze could even be a bonus !
Kenseiden, Bomber raid, Cloud Master, Hang on, Spy vs Spy, Alex Kidd in Shinobi world could be also great games to fit in.🙂
I add Hang-On to this list. As the inbuilt game in Master System it's got a ton of nostalgia for me.
You're not alone. My brother and I were the very few kids that knew master system existed. Of course everyone else was NES
I'd have to include Golvellius, Double Dragon, Sagaia and Fantasy Zone too.
Golvellius is incredibly difficult. I think I managed to complete it back then, but I don't know how!
Master mini first, fuch'O
Last year, here in the UK, a streaming TV was released known as Sky Glass. You can add shows to your library but you can’t record!
I feel you can’t rely fully on streaming. Over-the-air, cable and satellite TV all still have a place in the modern world, they’re especially good for if your internet goes down!
Because of this, I came up with an idea for my own TV:
I would call it SmartVision, it would have antenna and satellite tuners by default, be modular so you can easily replace a broken HDMI port, add composite AV etc, let you record shows, stream Netflix, Disney+ etc, let you add shows to a list like Sky Glass, and I would also include 50 Sega Master System games!
You’d be able to play them using either the remote or Bluetooth Sega controllers (sold separately)
The game lineup?
Alex Kidd in Miracle World (English and Korean versions would be available)
Alex Kidd in Shinobi World
Sega Chess (gotta include a few casual titles!)
Columns
Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
Phantasy Star (English, Japanese and Brazilian Portuguese versions would be available)
Scramble Spirits
Masters of Combat
Virtua Fighter Animation
R-Type
Castle of Illusion
Legend of Illusion
Deep Duck Trouble
Dynamite Dux
Sensible Soccer European Championships
Desert Strike: Return To The Gulf
Road Rash
Sonic The Hedgehog
Sonic The Hedgehog 2
Sonic Spinball
Sonic Chaos
Sonic Blast
Out Run
Space Harrier
After Burner
Hang On
Astro Warrior and Pit Pot
Golden Axe Warrior
Shinobi
Streets of Rage
Streets of Rage 2
Basketball Nightmare
Not the whole lineup, but you can see where I’m going with this
I totally agree. I've wanted a Sega Master System Mini for quite awhile. It would be great to see one. I like your choices for the system too.
@@UltimateGamerCC Dang rules!
I was completely oblivious to the Sega MasterSystem as a kid but it does look like a great system. I'd support it for sure if one were released. A lot of those games look great! Sega needs to hire you as their spokesperson because you have a way of painting Sega in a real positive light.
He really pumped me up for this.
I'd love a mini master system. I'd want mortal kombat, golden axe, double dragon, wonder boy, and grand prix on there.
@@ostiariusalpha all great games. I loved road rash on MS. Would be dope if we did get a mini version.
I wish they'd do a mini Saturn too.
@@TheRetroManRandySavage Honestly, I think there are more Sega fans craving for the Saturn than the Master System, but that sweet 8-bit powerhouse is just such easy money for Sega. And I just reeeally want one also. 😆
@@ostiariusalpha definitely. The mini ms sells like hot cakes in Europe. That thing was massive here in the uk. I for sure wouldn't turn my nose up at it.
I would add Kenseiden, Alex Kidd in Shinobi World, The Ninja, Double Dragon, Golvellius and Miracle Warriors as must haves.
Man such a device has so much more appeal than an N64 mini does. Especially cool to see SMS games I've not come across before in here despite having an extensive library of games for it "back in the day".
I'd buy this and a Dreamcast mini. However I really want a Saturn mini.
No chance in hell but it would be nice.
Yes. A Saturn mini. Die Hard arcade, policenauts, elevator action returns, and so many more..
This guy gets it! A hidden snail maze is a must!!!
I would 100% buy this and an additional controller.
The SMS was the console of my youth, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. An SMS mini is long overdue.
The original Phantasy Star is an Unlockable game on the Sega Ultimate Genesis Greatest Hits Collection for PS3 if you have access to one,
@@rudys.4380 I don't own the PS3 anymore
Phantasy star 1 is great, I just played through it last month (I'm into retro rpg, love these games). But man the dungeons are hella difficult, even with online walkthroughs; I can't imagine how kids did it back in the day.
I’ve been waiting for a Master System Mini. Glad you mentioned Penguin Land. But I would also want Asterix and California Games.
I would definitely buy one
If you want bad graphics and lots of sprite flicker, the Master System is your best bet
@@worsethanhitlerpt.2539
It had better graphics than the NES, whose mini version sold out pretty quickly.
Oh yeah, a Master System Mini would be an instant buy.
Thanks for your honesty! A+++ comment, would read again!
Good enough list, has enough of everything where old fans will get some of their favourites and new fans get something of everything. Every possible list will have some people saying 'but what about?.....' 'but you missed!.....'
I grew up in Oceania where the Master System reigned supreme over the NES, so we got a lot of the best games that didn't get US release.
I would love to see Kenseiden on the system too, and possibly summer games. Both are huge classics!
Kenseiden is awesome, 16 levels of samurai action on one cart.
With out Shinobi your correct "death threats would be had" awesome game.
Seeeeega.
Much respect for using Double Dragon music in this video. Doublr Dragon will always be a huge part of my gaming history.
very enjoyable video. the master system was the first console that was gifted to me as a kid. fun times.
If this happens I will cry. I want this so bad.
Ys is my favorite Master System game, so I would absolutely love to see it in a Master System mini
You totally won me over and I want one more than anything now. And I agree with what you said at the end completely, and will try to do my part in letting them know we want this to be a reality. It can happen. It needs to happen. That's for sure!
Wonder Boy 2 and 3 in Brazil are Mônica's games. She is a brazillian comics character.
Would absolutely love a master system mini. Great lineup you chose too. Very realistic, but packed with a good mix of hits and under the radar picks like Ultima.
I still have this game in the box same with the 8 that came after it
Agreed. Totally agreed. I bought the OG SMS. I even had the 3D glasses. Definitely needed in terms of celebrating the SMS library. Thanks lad.
I too would love to see this happen. I get it that the Master System was more popular overseas, but retro gaming and the mini-console market are always going to have an audience. Plus, it'd be a welcome change of pace to see Sega acknowledge another part of their history, and take a break from the Genesis.
Fun-Fact: Zillion, the anime, was based on a line of laser tag toys sold by Sega in Japan.
You would think Sega would have done this already after the success of the NES mini.
I started with the Genesis as a kid, never played one of these, and I would still love to have a mini. Looks awesome
That’s a great list.
Really representative of the overlooked Master System library.
Some omissions that I would have to include on my dream lineup:
- definitely Kenseiden over Spellcaster. Kenseiden is HUGE in Brazil;
- Land Of Illusion is my favorite SMS game. It would have to be in there;
- Virtua Fighter Animation should ease up the lack of fighting games on the platform. And I really find it superior to the Mega Drive version;
- I would put The Lucky Dime Caper over Deep Duck Trouble;
- Taz Mania for the SMS is a personal favorite of mine, and it is often overlooked and don’t get the love it deserves.
And, for the bonus games… it just would have to include the Tec Toy port of Street Fighter II for the Master System.
That just screams bonus game on a Master System mini.
Amen!!! I want a master system mini. I’ll pay up to 200 USD too! Up to 300 for a Saturn Mini. I’m game!
What, no Golden Axe, Altered Beast or ALF?!?! All kidding aside I think you forgot my favorite shooter on the SMS, Power Strike II
Great overview my dude! You make a good and logical argument for something like this to get released! I hope someone at SEGA see’s this video, shows their higher ups and strongly considers a release!
I think it would also be cool for the master system mini (if it ever comes to be a thing) to also have FM support on the games that had it.
I never got around to playing the Master System. I'd like for this to happen, too. Also, a SMS mini would absolutely kill in Brazil.
I want a SMSM aswell, mate. Just hope it will happen someday.🕹️
I basically turned my old At Games portable into a Master System/Game Gear so I'd be all for this
Until you actually look through the master systems library you realise yes theres enough quality games for a solid reason to release a mini. If they released it with an option for standard or FM sound for games that supported it (R-Type etc etc) would be awesome.
Regular Canadian Sega Master System soundtrack>FM soundtrack. System will definetly need both Japanese/North American selection for each game.
Been dreaming of this ever since the genesis mini was announced. But unfortunately i doubt it will ever happen.
This would be a day one purchase for me! I loved my Master System and I never felt less than my NES
owning friends.
Master System was my first console, I asked for an NES for Christmas but to my surprise Santa brought me a Master System because he thought the graphics were better. I made the best of it but I also envied my friends with NES because I thought and still think the game library was better. That said, the Master System still has a special nostalgic place in my heart.
This would be really cool and nice way for people to play these games for the first time.
Hopefully Sega sees this and takes note.
They have so many great IP's they're just not doin nothing with!
I would say they should push it to 60 or even 80 games to really entice people to give it a try.
Didn't know about Penguin Land. I was in the mood for a decent action puzzle type game and it looks like what I wanted! Plus it has a level editor neat!
I hated Thunder Blade as a kid after I got to the harder levels. 😂
I don’t care what I have to sign, or what I have to do, but I want a Master System Mini.
You make some great points. Another one is that they could probably hit a price point of $60-$80 while maintaining the quality of the product, thus making it a "why not" for anyone who didn't already consider it a "must have".
We should get a Master System Mini!!!
I dont' always agree with you, but your content is great. Just in example the inclusion of games that you think the Mini should have, even of games you personally don't like. Just because the games need to be here, as they were very popular. Really like this kind of content that does not try to push own ideas only.
As a life-long unapologetically Nintendo fanboy, I must say I love your content
A SMS Mini....for me.....Sonic Games, Moonwalker, Time Soldiers, Outrun, and Rastan.
Games I can pretty much guarantee WONT be on a SMS Mini: Moonwalker.
Fully agree. Ms mini would be good, and they should do "packs" on cards like the ms1, so you can buy an extra 10 games for say £10 etc. Add to the collection that kinda stuff.
Great list definitely getting some of these I forgot Baku Baku animal was on on the master system I loved that game on Saturn,
Will I ever forget that xmas morning, where under the tree, was Quartet.
My first console I got for Christmas in 1992, South Africa, I was 5, so many memories, would love to get it back!
Want this so bad. Will probably have to be custom though unfortunately
Alex the kid the best game on this console growing up :)
This video made me put out my master system and play some of these games again.
I love the SEGA Genesis, but SEGA has gotta start showing more love to their other consoles.
While I have never played a Master System I would so be down for a Dreamcast Mini.
