Traded my 21 (for $6k profit) on the special order '22 @ $500 over invoice.
      Paid the difference in cash.

I can afford a mini truck.
I didn't pay anywhere near $65k for my Scat. GM is smoking something great if they think I'll pay that for a Colorado.

I do need, and have a truck.
      It's a '99 Silverado 4x4 with 125k on it. I paid $2500 for it.

Once again trucks with far less to offer in every conceivable way were more than 30k nearly 20 years ago. The Colorado Z71 is 42k fully loaded, a very manageable price for a work vehicle. At least a ton of companies believe so as I see them everywhere.

I like cars, and would attend the city auto show every year, and even once in Montreal because I was there. I then realized that any cars of interest were kept locked, and it was a real effort to get it unlocked, by sales people rolling their eyes if asked to open it. Keeping the riff raff away was the intention. Every year, more and more cars were kept locked. The second thing was, the dealers had the audacity to demand $20 to enter a venue to view cars they want me to buy from them.
I haven't been at an auto show in years. . .

Bait and switch, bait with the "cheap" model but then you can't find that on the lot, only the more expensive models. These car makers need to stop insulting their customers and start selling vehicles at a reasonable price and profit margin. In China, with real competition the prices just keep falling as the car makers are forced to become more efficient. US$50k for a hybrid Escape, then the cheaper non-hybrid is still overpriced!
