4:37 the small cubes in the Palak Paneer is not tofu but is actually paneer - they can be similar in appearance but paneer is a cheese! Palak directly translates to 'Spinach' and the paneer is the cheese cubes which makes the dish ^_^ glad you enjoyed it
For me as Persian when you say paneer is a cheese it's funny.cus in Persian paneer means cheese.but i understand that Indian just call cottage cheese paneer. Like when someone says naan is a bread. For us it's like bread is a bread.
Ben, I found your channel 4 years ago when you tried the raw beef burger with those bogus soggy fries and coke. From that point on I have been a follower/subscriber of your channel. I have gone all the way back to your videos from over 4 years ago and have watched them all! Your content has variety but a simplicity to it that I can always enjoy. You are one of the more down to earth youtubers I have come across and I'll always be a supporter! Never quit making content bro! You always make me, and I'm sure your 1.29 million other subscribers feel mighty fine!
Ben.... I love watching your videos. I used to love eating food but I recently fell ill and I can no longer eat what used to make me happy... a burger with the works my body immediately rejects it... I can no longer eat meat or processed foods... so now I watch your videos and it makes me feel as I'm having a meal with a good friend. Take care.. and thank you for the content. One.
tuff, if you can cook up something vegeterian with nice whole foods thats fire i think youll feel better about not being able to have something like a burger
I got so hungry watching this as an Indian from Punjab. Nice seeing you liking the food! You should try some more Indian food. Maybe some spicy Indian food???
I went vegetarian for 18 mths bc my ex was Indian and I wanted to see how she did it. Huge parts of India are purely vegetarian so they have so many options. Even McDonald’s over there has a Mcveggie burger lol I got to visit India and never ate meat over there and it was insanely good. Dosa is hella good too! I tell everyone who is vegetarian to try making some Indian food bc it’s hella flavorful and you won’t feel like you’re missing out at all!
Yeah, the mistake people in the US (or I guess West in general or those with European ancestry) do is try to convert veggies to meat. Treat veggies like veggies and highlight their qualities. (And for the love of god, add more seasonings to food than just salt and pepper.😂😛)
8:30 Yo my bro, that’s not Tofu, but Paneer (The cheese!) it’s more like curds than cheese but it’s what we call cheese in Indian cuisine! Much love from the UK, great seeing you enjoying some Indian food!!
Hey Ben PLEASE TRY THESE ON YOUR VEG JOURNEY… - spanikopita - baba ghanouj w pita chips (remember how much you liked hummus..l?) - HUMMUS - DOLMAS - stuffed grilled portobello shrooms - stuffed grilled bell peppers Thats just a start. So many possibilities!
I remember discovering ben when i had covid about a year ago. I couldnt eat anything good because of chronic nausea. I would watch bens videos on bright sunny mornings getting so hungry but at the same time it was so relaxing to watch 😂😂 that week of covid was brutal but a peaceful time. Even though its just food videos watching you kept my spirit up
The "tofu" in the palak paneer is actually the cheese itself. Paneer is almost like a cottage cheese, but with a higher fat content. And you lowkey gotta get the garlic naan next time.
Also since you liked falafel from the Greek place this week is the perfect time to try falafel from a Middle Eastern place ps technically a week on vegetarian pizza is still a week eating vegetarian food!🤣😅
the best part is seeing people react to palak paneer thinking it's tofu in there then they taste it and discover what paneer cheese is for the first time!
I'm not vegetarian but there's this local vegan Indian spot that I frequent at. Their spices and flavors are insane. I wouldn't be mad if I have to give up meat knowing that dishes like these exist.
I love your content, thank you again for a banger series! If possible, could you please add a "(01/07)" etc to the end of your titles? It would help with organization and clarity for the viewers. Just a suggestion, thank you ^~^
Indian cuisine is so good for vegetarians! There is an Italian/Indian fusion restaurant in my city that does an amazing pizza, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it
As a south Asian, going for the cheese naan (why tf does that exist?) and the butter naan before going for the garlic naan is bewildering if I’m being frank.
I assume Ring Lady is probably very important to you, but I like to imagine she is THE ring lady and the only sustenance she requires is the scraps from your videos
Hi bendy Welcome to my world as a vegetarian you have to take your fingers and pick up that Curry you can try Subway so much of food you can try I cannot wait to see what else you going to eat next😊😊😊
I'm pretty sure that the cubes in your spinach was cheese, not tofu. But you ate it, what did you think? Vegetarian Indian food is always a winner in my book. I was surprised how good mango lassi was the first time I had it. Isn't the color supposed to be uniform though. I kept expecting you to shake up the package to get a mango colored drink.
The green sauce is mint chutney! Indian food is the bestttt 🎉 can't wait to see what you've got in store for this vegetarian week! Also, pretty sure the cubes in the palak sauce are paneer (a type of cheese) rather than tofu like you said.
Ive been vegetarian for like 15 months, honestly it's fine. I'm not the biggest foodie in the world and I've never really cared that much for meat. Veggies way more flavors than meat does and the best part of meat (besides steaks) are the seasonings, which you can put on anything anyway.
ive been a vegetarian since i was about 6 years old so this is a cool challenge to see. I would def reccomend you try a good falafel place and try various side dishes, etc.
When you make your meatloaf add a good amount of crumbled bacon and parmesano Reggiano. Precook any onions, garlic or any veg that you add. I LOVE Indian food!
I adore carbs but too much carbs makes too much me. 😂 I usually do the protein/veggie thing as much as I can. Except for complex carbs like fruit… satisfies my sweet tooth.

Came here to say this 😅
I thought it was funny when he said it was tofu, but he did admit a few times to being an Indian food noob.
For me as Persian when you say paneer is a cheese it's funny.cus in Persian paneer means cheese.but i understand that Indian just call cottage cheese paneer. Like when someone says naan is a bread. For us it's like bread is a bread.
Paneer in English is also called cottage Cheese 😊

Grilled Portobello burgers are damn good! They're not pretending to be meat, they're just tasty on their own.
Yes!

Low-key brah really low-key
I was waiting for him to react to the paneer and realize its not tofu, but cheese. He didnt flinch. But he did say he was noob.
That is cheese(paneer) not tofu. 😊
😂
Paneer ain't so common in western countries like tofu is coz its popular for health reasons, so it might actually be tofu
I agree me,sin and I both posed tgat question. We both picked carbs LOL great videos Ben.
missing out on garlic naan my friend. best naan hands down
Palak Paneer is my absolute favourite, great vid Ben. Hope you enjoy the week
Also since you liked falafel from the Greek place this week is the perfect time to try falafel from a Middle Eastern place ps technically a week on vegetarian pizza is still a week eating vegetarian food!🤣😅
Tell this man to go vegan and he’d starve to death
You need to start using punctuation

I'd be more sad about giving up cheese tbh. Cheese just makes everything better

So happy! 🌿 veggies for a week! That's what I always order, for years 😂 palak paneer with naan. So good!
I believe what you called "tofu" was actually cheese!
Suddenly, I have a craving for Indian food... drool... The man knows how to sell! 🤠

Dude be doing the most random stuff for no reason lol
A steak alternative would be a flattened lion's mane mushroom. For chicken alternative, oyster mushroom.
I would compare Parkoras similarly to Yachae Twigim 야채튀김 (Fried Vegetable Tempura). Parkoras just have a thicker batter and more spice seasoning.
Bro I did the same thing, but only to say that I’ve done it, it was actually hard, good luck bro
AYY lets go, the pakoras look a little different to what I'm used to, but looks good
Ben are you using noise reduction in your audio? Maybe echo reducing software? Sounds super robotic when you aren’t speaking.
I love saag panner whats the difference between thatand palack panner?
Ben deen be like a night routine for me😅😅
No cheese naan. No butter naan. Peshwari naan is where it's at! Garlic nasn is a close second for me.
Haven't eaten meat or fish for 48 years and it's the best (and easiest) decision I ever made!!
Is there any particular reason?
Lmao! "The herbaciousness!" 😂😂😂😂
Indian cuisine is so good for vegetarians! There is an Italian/Indian fusion restaurant in my city that does an amazing pizza, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it
that ain't tofu bruh that's the paneer cubes! shit goes hard af

Going veggie does not necessarily mean your protein intake will drop. Plenty of great sources and this meal is a great start from that perspective.
It's hard to pick but probably would keep breads. Would miss bugs though. So far we don't have plant-based bugs.

Cheese naan has to be one of the best food on earth i could eat hundreds literally
Try a Bhutanese food called datshi Kawa. It's vegetarian and super comforting and creamy.

When I was vegetarian I looooved black olive pizza. It tastes umami like meat

Palaak Paneer is my favorite next to Chana Masala and Navratan Korma (Veggie Korma)
