As a cosplayer the backdrops were my favourite bit. They could really build on it and make it a unique feature. Also loved the steampunk area missed it from mcm london so much.
Agreed, that would be really fun if they added props and more to the backdrops. Although I don’t Cosplay backgrounds for photos are great fun. I’d like them to expand the sections that had the steam punk, Ghostbusters and Star Wars and maybe add some other things from pop culture. Thanks for the comment! Cheers!
I think there’s a community up north with small gatherings and events. There’s normally a Steam punk stand at both Mega Con and MCM Birmingham. It’s worth chatting to the stand holders as they’re friendly and would probably be able to recommend Steam Punk groups near to you if you’re interested.
Going to be honest, it looks a bit disappointing. On their Instagram, it seemed like it was going to be closer to MCM size, particularly with all the guest appearances. It didn't really seem much different than the Birmingham one last year. Did you go to any of the guest stands? Great video as always!
There was a bunch of stuff I didn’t film as it was all things I’d filmed at BHam, the giant Pikachu pop vinyl box, the Wednesday and Stranger things backgrounds. All the Tok fest and Steam punk bits were largely the same. Aside from Tok Fest had been folded into the main convention hall there was little diffference between Birmingham and London. The most notable differences were the guests and the location. I think it’s a good convention if you want to go to London and are put off by the scale of MCM or if you’ve never been to a MegaCon before. I think it was halls 2 to 5 so considerably smaller than MCM. The guest area was in the corner and packed with queues when I went past. It was a fun day out, though I think I’ll skip the other MegaCon events for this year and maybe see if there’s anything new next year. Thank you!
Many thanks for showcasing Essex Cosplayers and including us as a highlight of the event
Always a pleasure, no problem! Thanks for the comment, cheers!
I'd like to see a little review at home after each event / comic con and taken it all in 😀
That’s a good idea, maybe I could do reviews as UA-cam short, with less editing and would much quicker for me to put out! Thanks for watching!

I just see you mention Steam Punk. I like it but you don't hear much of it especially around here.
