The Mayor and all the elected officials need to stop sitting on their hands and solve this problem. This escalated on such a short period of time., and the huge number of tents is what set me to thinking: this is not student led. Anyone with half a brain knows this. There was one student group that's been expelled from Harvard so maybe that's a key element. Someone is definitely funding this so stop talking and solve it. How about critical thinking? How about the FBI and CIA? Keep arresting and now start expelling students.
Those "organizations" should be sued and brought up on criminal charges, maybe under RICO statutes or civil rights laws. The way to get control is to end grants and drain the endowments.

These students know how to use their socials to organize. I think it's a mistake to write this off as "they are young and don't know better or their has to be some nefarious group behind it." They actually have an opinion and probably are better read on the subject than many of the people reporting. They said the same thing about the Vietnam protests... 20-20 hindsight. The first thing she mentions that is good about American is capitalism? It seems that there should have been some other things that came to mind.
