You're wrong on the finals as far as any students go - you have no idea how easy some of the classes that these radicals take are and how political their professors are. They'll give them A's for doing this kind of stuff.
They'll also have guaranteed jobs with other radicals who are connected so it really doesn't matter what grades they get or even what they learn.
Students taking REAL classes who know they are entering a competitive job market without connections - yeah they won't give up all their work all semester to lose the grade in the last week.
