Ya, I can see how once you get someone like King Arthur's kit down it becomes easy, but I can't understand it or even be bothered to try and learn it personally. Huge difference between how hard a character is to learn and how hard it is to actually play them after you've learned.
I think there was a misunderstanding, I believe the video was about over skill ceiling, god like Morgan and Set were placed on their because playing them at the highest level possible is harder than most, so while Morgan is basically not that hard to play her skill cap is theoretically infinite since in order to use her ult at 100% efficiently you need to know all the gods in the game to a good degree

I think heimdallr is high ceiling because of his 3 is underutilized he can make some sick plays with his teleport but most of the time his 3 is just an escape.
Set Jungle, Ullr ADC, Merlin Mid, Serqet Jungle, Terra Support, Sun Wukong Solo, Maui Support, Neith ADC, etc. That should be Weak3n’s homework for the week. 😅
I find that Set is just a pure stat check character, He just all ins and either kills everyone or dies instantly. He doesnt have much in the way of skill display, he doesnt have anything in his kit for him to choose when to juke abilities or set up for other people. But because of that, he is incredibly matchup dependant and is very win more. If you out farm your enemy and get a triple kill as Set, the game ends at 15 minutes because you are fed and unstoppable. But if you arent winning the game before it starts, if you flub a gank, get put behind, have to dive into a comp with crit and a decent backline, he is basically forced to buy Magis or gets combo'd off of his engage in any late game team fight. His performance is very flat based on his comparable farm and if he has more DPS than his target.
Honestly I disagree entirely. Late game your warrior is going to engage on the backline first and if they’re doing their job, he would either burn beads OR get their dash. If their dash is down and as soon as they’re separated. Set will blow up anyone, Crit doesn’t matter since your solo laner will have it to make sure he can annoy the hunter as well. He’s easy to play and I haven’t played him since his release and I have him 3 stars

The list is from the perspective of the average player, with the average skill level and knowledge of the game, and how they feel about trying out and being successful with different gods. The game is inherently played differently between these two groups of people, which is why perspectives and opinions can be skewed. Not saying he is wrong just observing why the two opinions are so wildly different.
I think there are two things a lot of people get wrong when judging a characters depth. 1) They think having a high entry lvl = being complicated. Which isn't always true. A character can have a more simple kit, while still being hard to fully master. I think soldier in TF2 is a perfect example. He's easy to pick up, just click their feet. But the amount of time it takes to be a *good* soldier is a lot, and he is hard to play at a high skill lvl. 2) They don't read. Idk how commonplace this thought is, but I've seen some people say King Arthur is hard to play. And as someone who really enjoys him, I couldn't disagree more. He's really easy to play. I think most people just see that he has eight abilities, and that you're forced to constantly swap between his two stances and instantly assume that he's complicated without actually playing him or taking time to learn him.
Wu kong and Jing Wei imo are around the same level of difficulty because they have almost the exact same safety mechanisms the main difference is Wu Kong can and should use one of his as a cc of some form far more often BUT that doesn't change that he is still a VERY safe solo when the enemy solo doesn't have some form of lockdown
Hercules, Wukong, and Cu Chulainn are all pretty hard warriors imo. And if you ward in Solo with Wukong the second you see somebody you just 3 back into tower, does that not work?
Agreed. Just cause someone like wukong has easy abilities to hit doesn't mean he is the easiest. I've seen many people use his 2 ineffectively forgetting it slows, and i have seen way to many people that don't use their stun effectively because they don't have the position memorized. Like I play Nike very often, and Wukong should be losing match up for me, but I am able to win lane simply because they are playing wukong like shit.

if you go chronos pendant in any game its a first or second item. lifesteal mid builds are really only for bronzies and thats what this build seems like.
Unless im interpreting this video wrong, im surprised Nox isnt in the top 10 hardest gods. Yea she is used mainly as a tank but if used by her class as a mage, she needs to do dmg. To do dmg you not only have to free throw her puddle but also land your grab while they are still within her puddle. Thats assuming they dont beads and walk out of the puddle before it goes off. So for a dmg nox to be good, you HAVE to land your combo or your useless. If we have tiamat and morgian up there as the hardest which lets be honest, you can miss an ability on these two and still have another dmg ability ready to go. Nox doesnt, you miss any part of nox's combo and nox just doesnt do dmg. If this is by playerbase, from personal experience, 90% at least cant hit nox's combo reliably and always is bottom of the dmg board.
it might be a money diff or something but nox combo isnt THAT hard to hit. just buy a 1ms response time keyboard and some good wifi keeping you under 50 ping and her combo isnt that hard unless its a full movement speed merc or lance

if you saw it in a youtube title, that is to get clicks. I've always said ullr and serqet are the hardest gods in Smite and pretty much always have been. But set has also been changed, he didn't have 15% flat damage reduction on that ability it used to only be physical 10%

I completely understand why Set is considered the hardest. You really have to consider the mechanical skill of the average Smite player. Set seems really braindead sometimes bc when he's good either through buffs or items he just gets a ton of free damage and sustain in his ult which gives him a lot 1v1 and dive potential, but just on the surface level with his kit, his spawns are a very unique mechanic that can throw off some players, he essentially has one damaging ability with his one, and his movement requires the placement of his spawn and basically requires two abilities to use. His ult is also a stim which requires more mechanical input rather than hitting a line or AOE. Overall I think his skill ceiling is extremely high but I don't think his floor is the highest out of all assassins
@@Weak3n I had to reread your comment a few times to understand the mix up. What I meant by more mechanical input is that it requires more mechanical input to actually produce damage. You have to do more after the pressing the ability to get the damage, in Set's case land auto's, unlike say Rat ult which is a semi global with a massive AOE or Fenrir ult which almost impossible to miss. Gotta understand not everyone who voted this is a master or diamon player. I find serquet easier then set by a mile because i have two movement abilities and good CC while set has one movment and ass cc. Im not a ranked player so i speak as a casual, serquet isnt a hard god compared to set.
The poll is bad because Intersect only asked about skill and didn't specify skill floor vs skill ceiling. If he would have specified the list would look a lot more differently. Some gods are just really easy to pick up but difficult to master while others take time to initially learn but cap out as soon as you do
As a Solo laner I was thinking Tyr or Cu as the hardest and I don't really find either hard just expected them to be the picks. Cu because of managing your rage and committing at the right time and Tyr because some ppl just can't use his cc properly xD.
Neith, Ullr and Medusa (I like transcendence) are my go to carries and while Neith I think is easy her being that low was crazy! I've played against so many people that just never utilize the weaves and so many that don't pay attention to them against her either. Agree on the ult it's practically a dead ability mid-late game. Agree on Ullr as well, I find him mostly simple but his execution can be tough, landing his bow 3 is especially tight sometimes.
Wonder how many people let their opinion on "skill" difficulty* get skewed by how hard they find a god to play against too. Like maybe Set is so high because people perceive him as being good because he just kills them so easily?
Of course not being a pro player myself and mainly sticking to casuals over ranked when I play my opinion or observations are not nearly as supported but I see both sides that ullr is easy and ullr is hard. I haven't played a large amount of ullr in comparison to my time played overall in smite and I stayed away from him for so long because I was told of his high skill floor and even higher than average skill ceiling. With that in mind, he actually isn't that hard of a character to play once you get used to him and learn how he works. That is why people don't find him as hard as other because once you get the handle on his skill floor they think they know the god and, with enough practice, really he isn't that hard to pick up and become semi-consistent. Ullr is hard to play at a very high level though, where you are making the most of his skill ceiling and that's what a lot of people don't actually realize. A lot of lower level players, myself included when I first got the handle of him, feel like they have learned mastered the intimidating god with a high skill floor and don't think about actually getting good with him. After having played him more, he is much harder to get real value out of unless you learn everything about him like juggling his abilities and using them in the right order and being able to pump damage and win your ones. TLDR; ullr is easy to pick up once you practice him and you can be useful because he does a ton of damage even if you only hit half of his abilities, but, ullr is hard to get the most value from and to be able to hit every ability and also be good with his playstyle (stance-switching and ability burst).
Serqets harder than set? What? You hit 2 and hit 1 and hope you crit. Maybe you get spicy and hit 4. How the hell is serqet harder than set? Aiming all of the 1 sand clones at the same time is WAY harder than hitting literally 1 skill shot tf.
your clones converge on the center of where you are aiming the 1 on set. There is no skill there.... You literally just put your ground target on the person you want to kill. I can GAURANTEE that you've never hit a serqet double taunt. You've never engaged on a hunter or mage late game and gotten a full combo off without dying. Serqets entire kit requires precision. Set requires holding left click.

People have been thinking Set is hard since his release. Even I used to think he was insanely hard until I played him and realised how fucking piss easy he is.
I like that weaken things mechanically but lower level players suck at game planning which weaken does not so. The difference is in how to space and when you engage not god skills
Just got back into smite after a year or so off I play duel as it looks like conquest and the game changed quite a bit still trying to figure out items and builds and new buffs I appreciate the videos makes me wish I had friends who played smite so I could get back into conquest all I get are PC try hards in duel and the comeback is rough haha
I think Set is rated so high cause he's if you get CC'ed your kinda just dead but, that's also if you don't understand how to play the game Lance is probably the hardest. Morrigan shouldn't be up there at all Kuang is harder cause he's all about positioning he either runs the game or drags his whole team down.

Set is indeed on of those gods that can pubstomp on lower ranks, and then falls off hard in the higher ranks unless you are incredibly good with him. He was better back when mages in solo was in the meta, but with warrior back in, having two tanks to help push off the squishies or peel makes these dive assassins with no cc almost irrelevant in the late game. It’s the same for gods like Baka as well, who gets melted later as well. It’s not hard to see. If anything, you not seeing that shows that you aren’t in the high ranks, since he never gets banned or picked. The assassins I always see in my games are high cc or high single target damage gods that have some form of cc, like hun batz or Arachne. Da Ji is used a lot more on high ranks as well, even though I barely see her in the lower ranks

It’s the average skill required to play the god at any rank really since just looking at pro players or gm players this list would massive change since most gods for them aren’t hard to play. Pretty much this. Picking a transformation as Morrigan is not nearly as dependant as many people make it out to be. 99% of the time your transformation will either be A: another tank, or B: high mobility character, or C: instakill assassin like Ne Zha/Thor. So many people go around thinking "I need to learn when to min-max each transformation and when to use it" when in reality you basically just build power with Poly to one-shot a backliner, and use the transformation to either bail out or snowball for more kills.
As a Wukong player, he is INSANELY easy to get ganked and early game even easier, duh. But, Ullr? I can promise you I have been playing this game since I was in highschool and I STILL can barely play him and hit abilities consistently. People need to open their (or there, i keep forgetting lol) eyes and ears bro.

Guards might indeed be the most skillful. While the gods themselves are all pretty easy to understand, proper item building, counter building, and positioning and probably the most important on guards since their role is to setup, peel, and sometimes initiate for the team. Doing anything wrong on a guard can mean dying in 2 seconds, and without a wall in between the enemy and your squishies, your team just falls. They are probably the role that seems the easiest to play, but can be the hardest to master. And set is probably the easiest again to understand, but to MAXIMIZE his damage, you rely a lot on being to stick to the enemy and properly aim his minion throw, which is partially reliant on rng.

As a solo main I agree every warrior but Tyr is braindead to play. I wish they would make more complex kits for warriors but they never do. Tyr combos are very character dependent when you factor in aa canceling. Like against persephone you can't aa cancel after red stance 1+2 or her jump ignores the blue stance dash and timing it to get the knock up before she can dash is a very small window

@MrWashed_ that's fair but tbh I think they could do so much more by just altering current designs. Make chaacs passive empower one of his 3 main abbiltys which gives more choice. Make Guan 3 have a system similar to maman one. Change Achilles ult to not be an excute cause that shit is dumb. Make Bellona weapons swaps a set duration so you have to plan out your swaps. Also make bruiser itemization a thing again, not full blown hybrid items but more of the health + power items.
I think it makes sense why you would be at odds with the community regarding Ullr, you play at a higher level where players will/should punish you for missing and will juke so you need to be on point with Ullr. Lower elo players can't hit most abilities anyway and don't juke so having more to spam due to his passive means they don't actually really feel how demanding the god is. If both players rely on luck then the one who has his abilities up more often will most likely win. Think of it like: If you can't hit aa's you want more aa speed to shoot more increasing the chance to hit rather than more damage that you won't hit. Other than the fact people fight all the time outside SPL, I always said this is why cooldown is one of the best stats in smite.

set is super easy, i play the game here and there and my first game ever playing set after he was out for a long time i got a penta just spamming my buttons
I actually started to lose it when he said set is harder than ullr. 8 star ullr & the one thing I don't see people ever mention is balancing ullrs passive with full cooldown to be able to not only have your abilities up frequently but hit any of your three main damaging ability's. I rarely play set but I gave him a shot today doing three games & I had 2 actually good matches on my first attempt with the god. This just comes down to people not really understanding kits & passives

The fact with Ullr is that when I mained him in season 6, and he was my highest mastered God, I still had troubles with him.

Wukong is easy for the same reason as izanami. You have to have been dropped on your head as a child to lose lane on that character

Unless im interpreting this video wrong, im surprised Nox isnt in the top 10 hardest gods. Yea she is used mainly as a tank but if used by her class as a mage, she needs to do dmg. To do dmg you not only have to free throw her puddle but also land your grab while they are still within her puddle. Thats assuming they dont beads and walk out of the puddle before it goes off. So for a dmg nox to be good, you HAVE to land your combo or your useless. If we have tiamat and morgian up there as the hardest which lets be honest, you can miss an ability on these two and still have another dmg ability ready to go. Nox doesnt, you miss any part of nox's combo and nox just doesnt do dmg. If this is by playerbase, from personal experience, 90% at least cant hit nox's combo reliably and always is bottom of the dmg board.

it might be a money diff or something but nox combo isnt THAT hard to hit. just buy a 1ms response time keyboard and some good wifi keeping you under 50 ping and her combo isnt that hard unless its a full movement speed merc or lance
weaken I happened to stumble across a Set video you made I believe 2 years ago that said Set was the most difficult assassin now I took a break from smite so i'm not sure if they changed anything on Set but obviously your stance on it has changed and i'm wondering why your stance changed.(also I understand a youtube title can be like over exaggerated to get more clicks so that may have been the case)

But set has also been changed, he didn't have 15% flat damage reduction on that ability it used to only be physical 10%

I completely understand why Set is considered the hardest. You really have to consider the mechanical skill of the average Smite player. Set seems really braindead sometimes bc when he's good either through buffs or items he just gets a ton of free damage and sustain in his ult which gives him a lot 1v1 and dive potential, but just on the surface level with his kit, his spawns are a very unique mechanic that can throw off some players, he essentially has one damaging ability with his one, and his movement requires the placement of his spawn and basically requires two abilities to use. His ult is also a stim which requires more mechanical input rather than hitting a line or AOE. Overall I think his skill ceiling is extremely high but I don't think his floor is the highest out of all assassins

@@Weak3n I had to reread your comment a few times to understand the mix up. What I meant by more mechanical input is that it requires more mechanical input to actually produce damage. You have to do more after the pressing the ability to get the damage, in Set's case land auto's, unlike say Rat ult which is a semi global with a massive AOE or Fenrir ult which almost impossible to miss. Gotta understand not everyone who voted this is a master or diamon player. I find serquet easier then set by a mile because i have two movement abilities and good CC while set has one movment and ass cc. Im not a ranked player so i speak as a casual, serquet isnt a hard god compared to set.
The poll is bad because Intersect only asked about skill and didn't specify skill floor vs skill ceiling. If he would have specified the list would look a lot more differently. Some gods are just really easy to pick up but difficult to master while others take time to initially learn but cap out as soon as you do

As a Solo laner I was thinking Tyr or Cu as the hardest and I don't really find either hard just expected them to be the picks. Cu because of managing your rage and committing at the right time and Tyr because some ppl just can't use his cc properly xD.
Neith, Ullr and Medusa (I like transcendence) are my go to carries and while Neith I think is easy her being that low was crazy! I've played against so many people that just never utilize the weaves and so many that don't pay attention to them against her either. Agree on the ult it's practically a dead ability mid-late game. Agree on Ullr as well, I find him mostly simple but his execution can be tough, landing his bow 3 is especially tight sometimes.
Wonder how many people let their opinion on "skill" difficulty* get skewed by how hard they find a god to play against too. Like maybe Set is so high because people perceive him as being good because he just kills them so easily?

Of course not being a pro player myself and mainly sticking to casuals over ranked when I play my opinion or observations are not nearly as supported but I see both sides that ullr is easy and ullr is hard. I haven't played a large amount of ullr in comparison to my time played overall in smite and I stayed away from him for so long because I was told of his high skill floor and even higher than average skill ceiling. With that in mind, he actually isn't that hard of a character to play once you get used to him and learn how he works. That is why people don't find him as hard as other because once you get the handle on his skill floor they think they know the god and, with enough practice, really he isn't that hard to pick up and become semi-consistent. Ullr is hard to play at a very high level though, where you are making the most of his skill ceiling and that's what a lot of people don't actually realize. A lot of lower level players, myself included when I first got the handle of him, feel like they have learned mastered the intimidating god with a high skill floor and don't think about actually getting good with him. After having played him more, he is much harder to get real value out of unless you learn everything about him like juggling his abilities and using them in the right order and being able to pump damage and win your ones.
TLDR; ullr is easy to pick up once you practice him and you can be useful because he does a ton of damage even if you only hit half of his abilities, but, ullr is hard to get the most value from and to be able to hit every ability and also be good with his playstyle (stance-switching and ability burst).

Serqets harder than set? What? You hit 2 and hit 1 and hope you crit. Maybe you get spicy and hit 4. How the hell is serqet harder than set? Aiming all of the 1 sand clones at the same time is WAY harder than hitting literally 1 skill shot tf.
your clones converge on the center of where you are aiming the 1 on set. There is no skill there.... You literally just put your ground target on the person you want to kill. I can GAURANTEE that you've never hit a serqet double taunt. You've never engaged on a hunter or mage late game and gotten a full combo off without dying. Serqets entire kit requires precision. Set requires holding left click.

Just got back into smite after a year or so off I play duel as it looks like conquest and the game changed quite a bit still trying to figure out items and builds and new buffs I appreciate the videos makes me wish I had friends who played smite so I could get back into conquest all I get are PC try hards in duel and the comeback is rough haha

Set is indeed on of those gods that can pubstomp on lower ranks, and then falls off hard in the higher ranks unless you are incredibly good with him. He was better back when mages in solo was in the meta, but with warrior back in, having two tanks to help push off the squishies or peel makes these dive assassins with no cc almost irrelevant in the late game. It’s the same for gods like Baka as well, who gets melted later as well. It’s not hard to see. If anything, you not seeing that shows that you aren’t in the high ranks, since he never gets banned or picked. The assassins I always see in my games are high cc or high single target damage gods that have some form of cc, like hun batz or Arachne. Da Ji is used a lot more on high ranks as well, even though I barely see her in the lower ranks

It’s the average skill required to play the god at any rank really since just looking at pro players or gm players this list would massive change since most gods for them aren’t hard to play. But also drop that in game name I want to check out some of those higher lobby assassins and how they do!
Heimdallr isn't the most skill. The only skill issue is his 3 and having good position

Pretty much this. Picking a transformation as Morrigan is not nearly as dependant as many people make it out to be. 99% of the time your transformation will either be A: another tank, or B: high mobility character, or C: instakill assassin like Ne Zha/Thor. So many people go around thinking "I need to learn when to min-max each transformation and when to use it" when in reality you basically just build power with Poly to one-shot a backliner, and use the transformation to either bail out or snowball for more kills.
As a Wukong player, he is INSANELY easy to get ganked and early game even easier, duh. But, Ullr? I can promise you I have been playing this game since I was in highschool and I STILL can barely play him and hit abilities consistently. People need to open their (or there, i keep forgetting lol) eyes and ears bro.

Guards might indeed be the most skillful. While the gods themselves are all pretty easy to understand, proper item building, counter building, and positioning and probably the most important on guards since their role is to setup, peel, and sometimes initiate for the team. Doing anything wrong on a guard can mean dying in 2 seconds, and without a wall in between the enemy and your squishies, your team just falls. They are probably the role that seems the easiest to play, but can be the hardest to master. And set is probably the easiest again to understand, but to MAXIMIZE his damage, you rely a lot on being to stick to the enemy and properly aim his minion throw, which is partially reliant on rng.

Tyr combos are very character dependent when you factor in aa canceling. Like against persephone you can't aa cancel after red stance 1+2 or her jump ignores the blue stance dash and timing it to get the knock up before she can dash is a very small window

It is factual that the only warrior that builds damage as his core build is the easiest to gank. Less defense = easy gank. Common sense isn't hard here.

Make Guan 3 have a system similar to maman one. Change Achilles ult to not be an excute cause that shit is dumb. Make Bellona weapons swaps a set duration so you have to plan out your swaps.
Also make bruiser itemization a thing again, not full blown hybrid items but more of the health + power items.

I think it makes sense why you would be at odds with the community regarding Ullr, you play at a higher level where players will/should punish you for missing and will juke so you need to be on point with Ullr. Lower elo players can't hit most abilities anyway and don't juke so having more to spam due to his passive means they don't actually really feel how demanding the god is. If both players rely on luck then the one who has his abilities up more often will most likely win. Think of it like: If you can't hit aa's you want more aa speed to shoot more increasing the chance to hit rather than more damage that you won't hit. Other than the fact people fight all the time outside SPL, I always said this is why cooldown is one of the best stats in smite.
Ullr is easy to PLAY. To be good carry and master him? Naw that’s where the difference is.

I actually started to lose it when he said set is harder than ullr. 8 star ullr & the one thing I don't see people ever mention is balancing ullrs passive with full cooldown to be able to not only have your abilities up frequently but hit any of your three main damaging ability's. I rarely play set but I gave him a shot today doing three games & I had 2 actually good matches on my first attempt with the god. This just comes down to people not really understanding kits & passives
