Thank you very much for the time you put in making this video. You saved me a lot of money time and crashes. You did more for me than my local hobby shop. I almost gave this hobby up until I saw you video. Thank you again. Well done
Freddy, Your videos are very well done! You do a great job of taking a complex process and making it comprehensible and clear- a unique skill to be sure! Thanks for your work in creating this setup video - I am in the process of building a Trex 250 with a 3GX. I have done a Beastx setup but this is my first time with a 3GX. I would have been lost without this video!
This video was a pleasant surprise! Ordered myself a dx8 today and just realized it's a little gem when it comes to that nice and relaxing sound it plays! Could have been a little louder of course, and a little higher pitched; but other than that really great. I will probably go insane in a few days. Anyhow just wanted to thank you for these great vids - very helpful!
Thank you for a cery nice 3GX guide! I havn't tried it yett, but I'm planning to do it with the setup I'm currently doing, after everything is setup perfectly, if you setup your swas to have 2-3 degrees to the right you have a mechanical counter to the left-drift due to the tail-fan. Even if the FBL system takes care of a lot of that drift, having it mechanically setup from the beginning sounds rather nice. Got the tip form the mechanically most picky guy I have ever met when it comes to helis (he has collected and flown helis since the 80's).
I am building trex 550 dfc with align's metal servo horns for cyclic servos. Elevator is mechanically nearly 90, Aileron e90 with 16 subtrim which is usable, and pitch is e90 with 54 trim. Do you think I better buy few more horns to make it closer mechanical 90 before I continue build?
Freddy, hopefully not a dumb question but are these 4 videos just as applicable to flybar helicopters, too? I have a flybarless 250 and 2 more with flybars and id love to strip it all back and 90 the servos and do all the swash balancing etc. Thanks in advance for these and your sim instructional videos. You're a champion for us newbies
Hey brother sorry for the late reply, so the basic information can be applied yes. But of course without the aid of the Flybarless system most of the programing is done in the radio for the mechanical stabilized system. But basically the same, center serves and work your way up the main rotor :)
@@33forsaken fantastic Ive been applying your knowledge and my first heli is setup sweet now. My biggest issue is my tarot 450 and that damn zyx software. That heli doesnt behave right across all its servos lol But mad props for your crystal clear instructionals
I converted a TREX450v2 Flybar to FBL using 3gx v3.0. The setup is all ok, neutrals, pitch, gyro, counter movemnts (right goes left etc.), however three times on diferrent occations during acceleration for takeoff the heli make a sharp sudden roll to the side and blades crash agains the floor. I've been flying nitro flybar helis for a long time and kind of know hat I'm doing, but this 3gx is driving me nuts. This roll is being done with only throttle stick, no other control is being touch.
Lol the guys at align said you did not half to do this as 3gx self adjusts.I set it up just like I would a flybar when leveling the swash threw the hole travel range.Mechanically as acurate as possible then minute transmiter trim for best use of the gyro which is not that great but very accurate set up thats done correct.
With a Futaba Tx, the suitable swash mix for Trex worked straight from the get go. No servo reversing required. For my Mini Titan, I did have to change some values in the swash mix to negative and reverse one of the cyclics. Took ages for me to figure it out. I should have watched this vid.
Hi, how come my servos are not traveling 100%? like aileron travels a little bit to the left and right and the elevator travels a little up and down. Plus when I did a circle on the right stick the swash doesn't goes clockwise like yours does. What am I doing wrong?
Hi Freddy. I am buliding a trex 550 e dfc V3. in the manual it says that you have to level the swash prior the installation of the 3GX. If I must do that in the DIR mode of the 3GX the previuos levelling was worthless. Thank you
Hey Freddy. Thanks for the great videos/tutorials. I'm looking for some guidance on setting up/binding my new DX9 to a TRex 450Pro with 3GX (DSMX Satelite). Would you be able to assist?
Wow... I'm the only one the can't stand some. Ya... Faa say my a&p completed kindergarten long time ago son. So I'll be at recess when ever Fred chomo wants to cutt to the fn chase. I assume video 42 to 61. Hopefully... Call me. The 95 ways to scew the screw loose in the gyro dude. Damn
Christopher Smith wtf are u on some kind of medication dude? these videos are excellent for someone with little to know knowledge of this hobby, personally I think the best instructional videos on youtube so revaluate your meds!

Exactly how ive been feeling. Gears stripping and servos burning out has been driving me nuts.
Thanks so much for these videos! I feel like I have a good buddy sitting with me, walking me through the setup with all the questions covered.
Fantastic show young man...easy and clear and hope continuing with more videos....
Excellent! Great Series. Thanks Freddy.
Thank you so much for preparing such useful series of videos.

Perfect tutorial! RC helis get so simple with your explanation! thank yooouuuu!

Hey Freddie.
This has been very useful, thanks so much.
Happy New Year.

You are a great help. Thnk you.
Keep up the great advice.
Tom.
Mikeswrx02 is correct, you can adjust your endpoints via the travel function. + and - can be adjusted independently. Great vids bud
Can't wait for part 3, subscribed!
Well done,nicly explained
Thanks buddy
yes... its for faster servo resolution

Dumb question, When setting up the servos in DIR........and setting the pitch, are you in 3D mode?

Should we be adjusting the servo links before doing electronic 90 or after? Thanks!!

Any reason you placed your link balls on the outer of the two holes of the horn? The manual says for efl it should be the inner hole?!
nice video to first build

It sounds like your programming is not correct. I would re visit your menus from the start to the end and see if you missed something.
Why dont you increase your pitch servo travel on your dx8? I think i did that and it all leveled up at max pitch.
Hi Freddy. I am buliding a trex 550 e dfc V3. in the manual it says that you have to level the swash prior the installation of the 3GX. If I must do that in the DIR mode of the 3GX the previuos levelling was worthless.

Do you have a video that shows how to 90 the tail servo on a 3GX system for an align 600
I have a question, when using dsmx sat, do I really need 2? I only fly trex250. Please help. Thanks
no you should be in normal with a linear pitch curve (0,25,50,75,100)
after if u do it before them e 90 ur swash will not be level and u will then have to re adjust the links any way
yay first view
Thank you!
Also for ease get yourself a digital pitch. Makes it 100 times easier and accurate to .01 of a degree.
What heli are you using freddy
in this video i am using an align trex 500
hey freddy? if i change ail in swashplate % on dx8..do i have to re do dir mode? thx
yo missed the whole install of the tail, the only part i needed to see
na you should be fine buddy
Digital pitch gauge*
