FatShark Power Switch Mod
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- In this video I'll be adding a simple push button on/off switch on my FatShark Dominator V3 goggles. This should be a standard feature on all goggles cause it makes powering on/off so much easier.
*Do this mod at your own risk. I'm not responsible for any damage done to your equipment.

If you found this post helpful, it would be super cool if you purchased the components from my store or purchase items from my Amazon links. These posts are expensive and take a loooong time to make so the purchases make it possible for me to keep making them. Thanks in advance, I greatly appreciate it :)

Hey man, just wanted to let you know, did the mod yesterday, everything worked. Thanks for the tutorial!
It is useful after all this while!
Did this mod today on my Dominator V3's. Works great! Thanks. Used the same exact switch from his Amazon link. It's a bit tricky to get everything back in there but doable.
i am a bit late to the game, but i did this mod to both sets of my Fatshark goggles, works like a charm. and i like the size and blue color of the button easy to turn on/off and looks really cool, lastly given that it sits in the location of a head tracker that i will never use, its a win, win!
You really are the best fpv teacher, Mike. I will SO do this when I get my goggles. Thanks a stack.
this is a must! i don't know whey fat shark doesn't just add this feature standard
What I love about your videos is that they are about the product, the destination - and not about you. Which, of course, says a lot about you as a teacher. Brilliant.
cool deal...just waiting on the module (delivery tomorrow) to test out the mod...thanks for the vid! GTG!!
Great tutorial. Just finished this mod. Took 10min after watching your video.
Excellent mod! Just ordered the push button switch from Amazon. Thanks!
Awesome vid! I bought the switch last week after seeing a post on MQC on FB. Perfect timing.....
Thanks for the tutorial, I did it last night:) there’s a Thingiverse for a Fatshark battery mount for the battery, keeps that battery in the strap.
Why doesn't Fatshark have this feature already!! Great mod, just a simple thing changes everything.
Thanks for the awesome video and directions!! Just performed this mod on my DomV2s, super simple with the video! Subscribed!
great video. that switch maybe a little overkill in depth size though. Is there something I'm missing?
Just finished this mod thanks for the video
Dope. Love this. Gonna try it on my HD2's.
Many thanks for this really nice and simple tutorial. Help me a lot. Thanks again !
Can u do a mod video with the laforge setup
Great tutorial
nice video
just did this mod while watching
Cool looking.
Beautiful!!! Great mod..
Nice mod, however, can the headtracker module still fit once the on/off button mod done ??
no
Great job
Even this vid is a year old already hope I get response. Which pins you bridge? is it NO with the plus pol from the LED? Guess black wire goes to minus pol from the LED. Sadly it's not so clear from the vid, seem there is no +/- mark for the LED or only not visible in the vid.
awesome thanks man!
Really want to do this mod but my tbs fusion ribbon cable attaches to a tiny board literally right there. I ordered a switch but it will clearly hit the board
Hi, do you know if it also works with the realacc rx5808 module?
Nice work and thanks for the instructions. But you need to update your links.
Does the fan work when its powered on?
what soldering iron are you using
Can we please get a confirmation on the right push button to get? I've read mixed comments online, some people are saying the 36mm is to long and won't fit in the Fatsharks. I have also read you can get them in 21mm lengths but I am unable to find them anywhere for sale?
Just clip the tabs a little in the back like in the video and it fits fine. I've done it twice and they both fit perfectly
FlightClub can I email you a pic of the button I have so you can advise me of where to put the wires. Thanks

Boom! nice mod...
Does this mod void the warranty?
i got the switch today from the link you provided ,,but the pins are a bit different than what you have , My LED light stays on the whole time after the install
Hey there. Looks like you goofed. If the led lights up as soon as you connect the plug? You simply connected the led + to the + in from the plug. It should have been soldered to the normally open(no) contact on the switch. Or, cuz some switches are different, your + from plugshould go to unmarked center tab. The + to the board gets connected to tab marked NO. Which is bridged to tab labeled led. Then your neg - from the board goes to the tab on the side across fromtab labeled led. Ive done a few of these after watching this AWESOME vid with various switches but they all seem to have the same markings. Hope this helps
Is the entire process exactly the same for the HD2s?
would be nice if you told us what the pins are on the switch.
for the application of this video, the pin layout used in this video will let you add a on/off button to your goggles.
@@FlightClubFPV lol no shit ;-) I meant every pin on the button.
Will this void my fatshark warranty???
most likely
£500 and it doesn't even have a power switch, these goggles are stupidly overpriced but are all we have :(
yeah i agree. it should be standard
Thank you!!!
Good one! really gonna try this. Btw I saw you use a tattu battery that I also use, and it slip off easily when I took off/wear my googles. I wonder if you have the same problem and how to overcome it?
Ikramullah Sultana www.thingiverse.com/thing:2230343 maybe this one helps u :)
väinö räinä whoa thanks man! this is just what im looking for :)
You can also just put the loop side of Velcro on either side of the battery and that will hold it in place.
Hi. Please could you confirm number of cable?
Is the process the same for HD3? Thx
great....thanks man.
Beware that you will loose the possibility for headtracker as I see it if you do the mod.
not really if you have the headtracker you can use a mini power switch like this one ......www.adafruit.com/product/3105
How about the upper fan connector, does it turn on?
yes, the fan is powered off the balance lead so it doesn't effect it
Can I use 26 awg wire
Nice!!!
I wanna do this for my teleporter v4 lol
Booya first comment!
i soldered mine up exactly the same and im getting a weird cal voltage error on the center of my screen. maybe its my matek pdb?
