Great video! Rode there today :) I like Brown's Ranch for the reasons you described - great for building beginner to intermediate skills for newer riders that I might be with, or, if it is just me, there are some fun technical spots but moreover some great SPEED! You can zip through so much of this park at a good clip (while working cornering skills like crazy), and, if you know some good trail sequences, have a bunch of flowy fun with lots of fun little jumps and hops. I used to be all about big enduro trails with super tech and downhill, but I'm finding that trails like Brown's are equally fun if you apply the same skills in a different way. Doesn't hurt that the whole place is like one enormous desert arboretum, either. Beautiful and some great views
Right on, thanks for the feedback Matt. I totally agree with you. Places like this are perfect for riders of different skill levels, and there is plenty to work on if you are intermediate, or even advanced.
Love the landscape in this one Sage! Those cacti are just awesome! I kept expecting to see Road Runner and Wile E Coyote in the distance! Supra-Genius! Some great, quick moves to get through some of those tight fits! Well done as always my friend!
*SUPERB CONTENT YOU MADE AS YOU DO ALL THE TIME, WISH YOU GET LOTS OF HAPPINESS WITH GOOD HEALTH IN YOUR LIFE, MY SUPPORT WILL ALWAYS BE HERE TIME BY TIME, LOTS OF LOVE AND BEST WISHES FROM PAKISTAN*
Love your BIKE CAM!!! You have so much fun on the trails! Your passion for trail cycling is so evident in your videos!! The trails here are beautiful! Love that there is a trail for every level! Steep rock slabs?? I'm in!!! Sage- you never met a challenge you didn't love!! Great review of Brown's Ranch! BLOOPERS!!! Intermediate Rider... that's a hard one Sage!! Great video!!
Classic Sage... Sage: "This place is beginner friendly..." Also Sage: *jams in a massive Alt-Line* "Maybe not this bit" Ace vid as always mate... I'm at a point now where every time I see a bit off trail worth riding I think " Ooohhh... Sage would like that..." :D
It’s always a good time in your channel! I just spent all morning outside and it’s nice to be in my living room watching your trail adventures ❤ nature is everything ❤
Sage, it looks like a great place for me to ride! It's missing some of those crazy steeps and rocks but what a beautiful place to enjoy! Yes, it is a good recovery ride for you both!
Oh yeah Sage, these trails are a joy for every biker's heart. The landscape and the surroundings are a dream for me. Great riding and you've mastered the obstacles fantastically, mate. As always, a brilliant video and great to watch. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work. I hope your shoulder is better. Take care and have a great rest of the week. Ride on🤙
@@TrailSage Yes, it's always good to have such trails available when you're a kid, but don't be too hard on yourself, you're a fantastic rider my friend. Take care
Looks great there… as you said I might just be able to get away with the gravel bike which helps ease the pain from saying goodbye to the mtb. You are lucky to have such cool trails ! Watching that has made me rethink this rest day!
I didn't record/ride a lot of the easier stuff because Dan and I are addicted to tech, but there are def a lot of gravel friendly trails there. Thanks for always watching and commenting James.
Wow! I love the variety of the terrain at that park. I also love how open it feels. A lot of mountain biking intimidates me when there is so much around you. This looks like a fun place!
As a predominate road and gravel cyclist who likes to ride UCI XCO MTB hardtails as well - as a beginner MTBer. I stay away from any jumps, extreme rock or dangerous descents. This looks to be a good trail system for me as long as I stay away from any advanced loops. I would be unclipping and walking many of these sections. Thanks.
It's really the perfect place Stephanie. And when you are ready for more challenging features there are plenty to progress on. Thank you for the comment and feedback. Sage
Thanks Jill. This was from our trip in March, but yes, my shoulder is fully recovered and I am working on strength exercises to get it back up to par. Thank you for asking.
Another beautiful Sage video. Easier trails than you usually show us, but cycling on the rocks is always pleasant. And as you said, for the more experienced riders, there are lots of rocks and you just have to invent your own difficulty. How is your shoulder?
You are spot on Luis. This place has options for everyone so it's ideal for families and new riders as well as experienced riders. Shoulder is fully recovered now. I just need to work on strengthening it. Thanks for asking.
Hi Trail Sage. Loved your video on Browns Ranch. I ride there a lot. Anyway it’s driving me crazy. Towards the end of your video you went up a technical section of rocks with the black diamond deviation sign. Do you remember where you were or what trail this tech section was. I have been all over that place and cannot place that last section. It’s also on the pictorial from your leading page of your UT video. Thanks Loved it!
Thank you so much Randi, glad you enjoyed it. Regarding your question, it's been over two years so my memory could be off, however I believe that is the entrance to Sidewinder Upper Slab Drop www.trailforks.com/trails/sidewinder-upper-slab-drop/
@@TrailSage Thanks Sage for the quick reply! I ride that area on the way out to other trails. I will look next week on Sidewinder. Randi…..Keep those great clips coming.
So sick. I love riding big rocks like this(have yet to do it out west). It allows for so much playfulness and free- ride potential. I've never actually ridden around cacti, can it flat you?
I know right?! This is the kind of place that I wish I had as a kid. I would have probably started MTBing earlier. As for flats, you can 100% get a flat from those cactus. Nasty little buggers! Thanks for watching Zane
after being buried in snow for months up here in Pine, I cant take it anymore! Im heading down today! plus I need to find beginner trails for my friend, sedona is way too much for her!
I think this place would be perfect for your friend, while still offering some trailside features for yourself. If you go, let me know what you thought. Thanks for watching Mark.
Not a huge fan of brown’s South mnt and hawes are much better Now that I live in northern Virginia I have to find new fun stuff to do I’m really looking forward to riding the shed a ton
If you are riding South Mt and Hawes then I can see why, lol. Yeah, Brown's is certainly much easier but I think it is a great place to get folks into MTBing. Dan and I used it as our recovery ride after riding places like South Mt and Hawes. As for the Shed, you will love that place!!!! There is some crazy tech lines there that will have you puckering up, lol. How are you enjoying VA otherwise?

BR is great. One of the nicest things about there is they keep those bastids on ebikes out. Ranger told me its a class 3 felony if they get caught.

Apache wash has a lot of the easy stuff which I like. I would like to try something a little more difficult.
Awesome place to ride. It gave me flashbacks to my ultras in that desert. Why he was wearing a wind breaker? Not hot ?
