Thanks for the great video. I was wondering, if I have an Older Allen & Heath ZED r16 mixer with the ability to send 16 channels of ADAT. Could this unit receive 16 ADAT channels from my ZED and then send it on to my Mac using Luna DAW? 16 mono channels from my ZED?
By far the best explanation of how to use the EVO16 itself as well as the software mixer. I Would also say the same regarding the series of tutorials for the Eleven Rack as I own both. I am purely a hobbyist who loves to learn the technology of recording and mixing as well as the musical applications. I have set up a 24 track home studio using my DAW along with the EVO 16 and two 8 Chanel preamps using ADAT and BNC to output 24 analogue channels in to 24 line inputs on an analogue mixer. Of course I realise that this sounds crazy when all this can be done in the box but I am enjoying the experience of learning to mix old style. I record directly in to my Interface as well as connecting my Integra-7 and my Eleven Rack and only use the mixer as a tape return for learning how to mix using older outboard gear which I have accumulated over the years. Keep up the great work. Regards Alan

Just bought an Evo 16 an been listening to your video multiple times. Your Rock dude! Great detailed explanation especially for a beginner like me. Thank you for making this!
Big man this the best and most clutter free explanation of working the EVO 16.. and for absolute beginners it was a great watch.. I remember asking you this stuff about 10 years ago when I bought an NI KOMPLETE AUDO 6. Cheers dude.. 👍🏽🍺
Dude, this video is excellent! I've been super intrigued about this interface. The amount of features for its price range is unheard of. I have a Focusrite Clarett 4Pre, which I really enjoy, but having loopback for any potential streaming/UA-cam video creation is huge and saves a lot of time while adding efficiency. I think the vast majority of people would be hard-pressed to notice a difference with the mic preamps. Strongly considering this for home use and daisy-chaining it to my 4Pre!
I think finding your channel has been the best investment of time ever. Thanks for this video, I was overthinking about buying this interface, but now I need it desperately.
Great in depth review! Appreciate your time putting this together. The EVO 16 is pretty hard to beat when you look at the features you get for your money. Waiting for Sweetwater to get them in stock. Again.. well done!

Brilliant video! I just got mine last week for tracking drums yet there are so many other great features. And at an amazing price! Thanks for such a detailed video!
If Audient didn't pay you handsomely for this video, they should have!! By far the best video on how the Evo works; far, far better than Audient's own tutorials!!
Excellent review of the EVO16. I need a desktop audio interface especially for "on the road" recording. I was planning to buy another brand, but decided to buy this EVO16 after watching this excellent product review. This unit cost me about $50 more that the one I was planning to buy, but this unit gives me 8 inputs (4 more than the other one), 4 more outputs, ADAT + the smart gain option. Thank you very much for this extensive review.
@@BenoniStudio I used an apogee element 46 but the inputs got noisy with analog gear. I love the software control software. You can control the main mix volume from the computer keyboard. Audient mixer software does not do this. But I submitted a request to audient support as a future software request.
Dude awesome explanation of this interface! I just purchased this and it’s coming Saturday! This video was a serious help and I’m thankful for comprehensive video on the Evo 16! Definitely subbed to your channel man! I like the way you do things and you’re approach! !!!
Awesome. You'll have a busy Saturday for sure, checking out all of these features. 🔥 And I'm not sure why some people are saying negative things about the Evo 16 when they haven't even used one? If the Evo 16 doesn't fit someone needs, that's fine - there are plenty of great audio interfaces out there. But for the price, I don't know of anything else that has this amount of I/O and features.
@@BenoniStudio I know right! People are weird lol, I mainly got it for drums but also general use too,I have the SSL 2+ plus which is great as well, but after watching you’re in-depth video, I’ll be all ready to start using it right away! 🤘I’ve had lots of interfaces and had a semi professional studio before, I sold RME ufx awhile ago so Evo 16 should be a piece a cake! 🤘🤘
@@ivanidea4027 How are you liking it so far? I just grabbed up a Behringer UMC1820 to tide me over for multitracking until my Evo 16 arrives (I have a Motu M2 for general use, that I love). The UMC1820 will serve ADAT duty then.
We need your supplement reviews, diet advice, bodybuilding and nutrition channel back. Those videos were super helpful for me man! Just wanted to let you know!
Yeah it's been awhile since I posted something there. I have some videos in the can for TITAN workout gear but I haven't had time to put them together. That channel isn't monetized anymore so everything i do there is for free
ive spent the last couple of weeks weighing up my options to upgrade my interface currently using the old saffire series and yes i love them but firewire isnt so convenient and its becoming less and less stable with each windows update unfortunately so Ive pretty much settled on getting one of these and the sp8 expansions [probably going to buy one at a time although im trying to get a bundle lol] thanks for the indepth tutorial/analysys nice and clearly presented and when i get it il be coming back to this video at least a few times to refresh my memory on how to do a few of the things you explain nice and clearly presented and from what i can make out youv confirmed that this would be a good choice for me all the best :-)
Here's hoping OBS is gonna get a channel-by-channel implementation of Core soon bc all these workarounds are a PITA. Using a separate interface for loopback at the moment because the last thing I want to do is make loopback audio inputs 1 & 2 on my interface for it to work in OBS.
Yeah that will work, that's the "old school" way to do Loopback and it's a solid choice. I doubt OBS will implement a per channel Core Audio system because it's a lot of work and it can break when the OS gets updated. It's really something Apple needs to do. I understand that Apple made Core Audio this way to make it "easier" for people to use, but when it comes to streaming or screen capturing - Core Audio is much more difficult to use. I know it's expensive, but Rogue Amoeba Loopback is an awesome app, and it solves all of your problems. And they are quick in updating when a new OS breaks what they did in the backend to make individual Inputs & Outputs availible.
Dude I didn't even understand half of the stuff you did. But it was awsome! One question: Much much is the fastest roundtrip latency in ms this interface can handle?
Excellent , the most complete review on youtube . I have a problem , I recently bought this unit I am learning to use it but for some reason it does not let me monitor what I am playing , connect the 8 mics to the 8 inputs and I do not want to use the computer monitors but only listen to the return through the headphones connected to the evo directly even drag an audio track to the daw and it does not play it , I can see perfectly the signal of the channels in the evo mixer but I can not hear anything. Any ideas?
@benonistudio excellent and comprehensive video. My main question is that while I have access to a M1 laptop, I do all my recording on an M4 iPad Pro. I note that you can save settings to the Evo 16. Because the Evo 16 doesn’t have an iPad mixer app, would I be better off getting a different audio interface that is more iPad focused? And what would you recommend?
Thanks for the video! Just a question: is there any feature on the evo app to add effects to the inputs? such as reverb, eq, comp... or do i have to manage it via another software such as Ableton? Cause I would like a soundcart that could manage directly these effects so that my computer has less to calculate and reduce latency. Thanks!
I have the same presonus interface but how do you connect and use your outboard hear with that unit?? I cant figure out how to get it to playback. I have it all connected right and can get the sound out into the unit but cant hear anything back into the interface
Hey! Thank you for this awesome video 🤘I’ve been popping in/out to learn little bits here and there. Is there a way to bypass the preamps of this? If I’m using an outboard mic pre - does it bypass if I use a TRS cable in? Or do I have to set the preamp gain at “0” if it’s not bypassed fully?
Any update on this? Has anything changed with the changes to Mac Sequoia and the ability to decode atmos in the OS and route to an external multichannel interface?
Really thorough video!!! You have a knack for knowing the real questions that users are going to need to have answered. I have a question about this unit and your opinion of it. I've been used to mixing through Apogee converters for years now, but this unit really seems to have all of the I/O that I need , going forward. I know the gap has narrowed greatly between conversion quality today, versus 10 years ago. How do you feel about this unit being the sole interface to mix and master with? Thanks bud 👍🏻👍🏻
Never used Apogee preamps or converters. The Evo preamps are good and clean. Very natural sound. Not alot of color. You check out the converter specs here evo.audio/products/audio-interfaces/evo-16/specifications/ and see if they match up to your Apogee.
Thank you for the detailed video. I want to use the 3rd and 4th microphones separately in obs. Normally, only mic 3 is used, but in certain situations, mic 4 is turned on. But when I try to capture the mic input in obs, it comes out merged with mic 3/4? What is the solution in this case? I don't know if there is an answer in the video, but I watched it with automatic translation subtitles because I was a foreigner, so I couldn't understand it well. (This is also Google Translate) When I used evo4, mic 1 and mic 2 were separated. → Mic | Line | Instrument 1 (Audient EVO4) and Mic | Line 2 (Audient EVO4)
@@BenoniStudio Thank you so much for suggesting an alternative. However, I have found a solution (contact Audient) and will pass it on. After importing mic3/4 from obs, set the panning to left or right in the audio properties, and check mono to solve it!
Hello, I just got mine in the mail but I cant find anywhere to order the rack ears. There is a manual on the website that says V2 unlike V1 in the video, and no longer has a link for the rack ears. Any tips? thanks.
There should be a link in your account here arc.audient.com/en/sign_in after you register the unit. OR you should get an email after you register. If its not showing up I would just email them.
This is such an amazing review and tutorial. I do have a question. I would like to use the digital I/O for spdif to use an Axe Fx III do I need a converter since the connection type is optical and not coaxial?
i want to use it for 5.1 monitor control as it has 8 =( 6+2) outs. can i control all channels volume (LRCLfeLsRs) through out single volume control ? because it says Direct out cant have volume control .. what will be the best scenario for the 5.1 monitor control?
Hi! @Audient can we get a volume control Mac Os, just as Evo 8 or 4, i'm able to control the volume control through the keyboard on Evo 4 but not on the Evo 16, a firmware update could do so, i believe. Thanks
Hi how is the latency if I want to hear a mic with some effects like reverb or compression as it shows in the video the lowest buff is 16 ms and it seems to high
thanks for the review, seems like you have experience with the id44 too, do you know why the evo 16 is cheaper than the id44 despite having more input pres? what do you get on the id44 for paying more?
The iD44 MKII is a premium audio interface with higher-end preamps and converters. It also has more Function buttons, and ScrollControl. I wish there was a way to combine the two 😂 I've been switching back and forth between the Evo 16 and iD44. I'll have a detailed video about the iD44 MKII in the coming weeks. There are alot of similarities between the two though. The Mixer is pretty much identical, they have many of the same Functions like: Talkback, Alt Speaker, Mono, Dim, Mute. They both have Loopback, both have two instrument inputs, two headphone outputs. What you are really paying for with the iD44 MKII is the more powerful pre-amps (60dB gain) and upgraded converters. Also the physical switches and individual knobs cost more than the digitally controlled system of the Evo 16. I would love to see a iD88 with 8 inputs and 8 outputs. Which one you buy will depend on what you need and your budget, just like anything else.
Evo is a sister company of Audient, kinda like their smart nerdy kid little brother (kinda like Soundcraft did with their UI series mixers). The Evo series is more gimicky than Audient's pro line. Still good stuff, but definitely gimicky (lots of bells and whistles/shiny lights, for cheap). I placed my order for the Evo 16 a couple of weeks ago. Release date is now sometime in August. Sigh...
If I shut down the computer and turn it back on the next day, the evo16 is disconnected. Looking at it, the power of the Evo16 is automatically shut down. Does this problem only happen to me?
How many stereo hardware inserts you can have with this unit? (With one pair of monitors aswell) Is it ok to use Headphones Out for your studio monitors? Is it the same as the line out? Thanks
Brian, I just picked up one of these interfaces and I'm trying to set it up. I have a TC electronics outboard reverb unit that I would like to use during the vocal recording process. I don't want to record the effects, just hear them real time for ear candy while the dry vocal goes into my DAW. Is it possible to send my vocal to the unit and back into the EVO 16 in one of the extra inputs?
I would imagine you could create a send in your DAW to output to a pair of outputs , probably using DAW THRU... Run it in to the Reverb and back into a pair of inputs. Or even create an AUX return in your DAW if you are monitoring though the DAW.
My digital inputs 15/16 (23 and 24 in DAW) seem to be stuck to the loopback function. Although 15 and 16 digital in is getting the audio signal from the source in the evo mixer, mye DAW is not. Every other channel goes right through to daw but not digital 15 and 16 Any suggestions out there?
Hi Dude, can you do a comparison of the EVO vs your Presonus 1824c? Features seems almost the same, but can you talk on the preamp quality / sound differences?
Thanks very much, it's very detailed indeed! But one thing that is not clear to me, and would be the deciding factor is this: is the smart gain really setting the gain during those first 20 seconds only, and not adjusting it later any longer? I'm recording live classical Indian instruments with singing, and setting the gain to such a low level that I'm pretty sure no human being can sing or play louder than that, when things really get going, in a hall full of people singing and clapping along, they still manage to cause clipping in the recording (which I'm not noticing because I'm focusing on the live monitor and house mixes). Well, probably also because they refuse in-ear monitoring and want monitors right in front of them, so there is a logarithmic increase of sound. Anyhow, I would really benefit from having a truly smart gain monitoring for my recordings, that will decrease the gain in these moments. But this system cannot do that, or can it?
Thank you for the great review!!! Is it possible to connect two units plus an audient ID44 to get 20 channels simultaneously using adat? That would be my dream because I'm on a very tight budget. I know that you have a big channel and may not be able to read every comment, does someone else know? I would appreciate it very much!!!
That wouldn't give you what you want. You would want to add an external mic pre if you want more IO. If you are on a budget then the Behringer ADA8200 Ultragain Digital will give you and other 8 channels and it only costs around $200. Get it from Sweetwater imp.i114863.net/NKD79O or Amazon amzn.to/3rJx0Qw You could even add 2 units if you want another 16 channels. But you need to ask yourself if you really need 24 simultaneous channels. Are recording an orchestra or a giant 18 piece drum kit? For most people recording themselves or a band, 16 simultaneous I/O is usually more than enough. But only you know the answer to that question.
As long as the program you are using that is setup for 5.1 or Dolby Atmos, under settings it has output option assignments. davinci resolve can do this, Reaper can do this.
What's up man great video I been watching cuz I got mine and i'm still learning it by looking at your video its very helpful. I finally got my rack ears. But I also have a question for you now the headphones one and two when I plug regular headphones into it I don't hear no sound like how you would like any other headphone jack. but in my case when i plug into headphone 1 i dont get sound I thought I could just plug my headphones into headphone one and would get sound but I don't do I have to route the sound into the headphone jack one. Cuz pluging headphones into one and two the regular way I don't hear nothing Because I thought you could just plug in one of your headphones into one of the Jacks and hear the sound. but i just was thinking maybe cause i got the sound going thru daw i don't no i'm lost lol
First check the routing and see what your headphone outputs are set to. Then be sure to Turn UP the Faders in the Mixer. Then make sure the headphone output it turned up by pressing the headphone 1 or 2 button and turning the control knob
yes. as covered in the video you can setup the mixer when connected to a computer and save it to the EVO 16 unit. support.audient.com/hc/en-us/articles/6578288789652-EVO-16-Standalone-Operation
Can you make a test of using the EVO 16 to send analog input to digital out (all 8 channels) to another device that receives the recording? I have two EVO 16's, setup to sample analog inputs, using 4x CUE's (has to be stereo) and use both ADAT's to send to another EVO that also samples 8 analog (and receives 8 digital) i.e .16 channels. I have some problems with stability of the digital out on the EVO. After a while the EVO (sending digital) turns off/crashes.
I was enthusiastic about the EVO 16, but the problem was that the first one arrived with a fault in the inputs (returned), the second one was broken ("the fault" of an online shop (returned), the third one clipped and I was left with the knob in my hand (returned). I gave up. The EVO 16 is the only interface that would be right for me but I was disappointed. Another thing I don't like is that it doesn't have a power on button, but only off. What do I think? advice, am I waiting for a Mk2 version or will I try again? Another question if I may... Is it possible to place a notebook on the Scarlet 18i20 as well as on the EVO 16? Could the 18i20 be a good alternative to the EVO 16? Thanks
you use the same button to power it on and off. its weird to get 3 lemons in a row. Keep in mind the current 18i20 3rd Gen has been out for quiet some time, and they have already started the 4th gen Scarlett's. So I would imagine a 4th gen 18i20 should be out before too much longer. You'll want the 4th gen because they have dramatically higher gain range.
thank you! I picked one up after watching your video. Love it so far! One question though - any thoughts on how to get the headphone volume louder? I've noticed that I'm pushing close to 90 - 100 to get to a level that I'm comfortable with without clipping the input signal. To clarify, I followed the instructions on 23:23 to ensure the levels are up in the mixer, but still seems pretty low :( @@BenoniStudio
@@PeterCruzMusic I usually just turn it up in the mixer. if you have done that and it's still too low, maybe you are using high impedance headphones that require a dedicated amp? What if you play music back in the DAW, is it too low for that?
Instrument has a specific meaning here, I am referring to Instrument Level and not physical instruments. The most common instruments that output Instrument Level are guitar and bass. A synth will output Line Level.
@@knock01 They are fairly similar in terms of quality and sound. I have an 18i8 Gen3 - video here ua-cam.com/video/tT5wLm5-TMk/v-deo.html The features are also similar. Loopback will work the same way, they both have mute, dim, and Alt speakers. I think the Evo has slightly better preamps in terms of frequency response, 10Hz to 40Khz for the Evo, vs 20Hz to 20Khz for the Scarlett. The Gain Range is slightly higher for the Evo, but it includes the ability to turn down an input signal by 8dB. So in real terms you get +50dB of gain with the Evo 16 and +56dB with the Scarlett. The Evo has a larger dynamic range, but the Scarlett has a slightly higher Max output (12dBu vs 15.5dBu) [MAINS] But the Evo has a higher headphone output level at 11.25dBu vs 7dBu of the Scarlett. The Loopback implementation is very similar. Focusrite did an awesome thing for Windows users and made it so switching the Sample Rate in the Focusrite app would switch the sample rate for Windows as well. And Evo has also implemented this feature with the Evo 16. I think the Evo on screen mixer looks better than the Focusrite mixer, but you can learn either one fairly easily. It just depends on the features you want. If you can use something like SmartGain, then obviously you would want the Evo 16. If you have no need for SmartGain, then either one will work just fine. I'd dig in to the specs of each and see which would suit you better.
In standalone mode, can you set the sample rate or is it automatic? No videos of the EVO 16 anywhere being used in stand alone. I'm curious to know If the EVO 16 would work with an MPC live 2 and other hardware as a class compliant audio interface.
You can hook it up to any device that has right inputs and outputs, but I think you won't be able to adjust Sample rate of EVO without software or linking it to master devices word clock (Master being device which word clock output is connected to EVOs word clock input).
do u know if we can add plugins to the input channels...for monitoring only, not for recording. like if a vocalist wants reverb. sometimes I use compression to help with lidtening volume too

Thank you for this loopback setup info, I'll be swapping my Symphony Desktop out for an Evo 16 for this exact reason.
I never LIKE a video, you got it! Thx! Covered pretty much everything for me
Excellent review of the EVO16.
Amazing overview of the Sp 16.
Perfect Video manual 🤩🪄
This is the video bible for all of us owners of the Evo 16. Thank you very much
Great review. Are the JFET preamps (1 & 2) compatible with condenser mics using the 48v phantom power? Or are they just for instruments?
Professional video and awesome voice. Thanks, man.
You sold me. Thanks for a great video
Looking forward to watching this a bit later. This product is very intriguing and your videos are great!
it will be here when you're ready 👍
Super detailed rewiev! Thanks for that. Best manual for an interface ever.
Man !! I was gonna return this unit but after seeing this video, I changed my mind !!
Why were you going to return it?
@@BenoniStudio I used an apogee element 46 but the inputs got noisy with analog gear. I love the software control software. You can control the main mix volume from the computer keyboard. Audient mixer software does not do this. But I submitted a request to audient support as a future software request.
@@DoctorJRx really, now way of turning down the master volume on the Mac keyboard volume buttons??
Best review till date and lots of hard work 👍
Gracias nuevamente por este video. Tengo una duda: ¿Como haces para corregir la latencia con el audio y el video? Millones de gracias
Dude awesome explanation of this interface! I just purchased this and it’s coming Saturday! This video was a serious help and I’m thankful for comprehensive video on the Evo 16! Definitely subbed to your channel man! I like the way you do things and you’re approach! !!!
Curious where you ordered from, as everything I'm seeing is talking about August release dates... Thanks!
@@davebrownentertainment7191 Turns out that was the only one in stock and everything is back ordered lol, nice score there! 🤘
Awesome. You'll have a busy Saturday for sure, checking out all of these features. 🔥
And I'm not sure why some people are saying negative things about the Evo 16 when they haven't even used one?
Excellent tutorial. Thank you 👍🏾
We need your supplement reviews, diet advice, bodybuilding and nutrition channel back. Those videos were super helpful for me man! Just wanted to let you know!
Yeah it's been awhile since I posted something there. I have some videos in the can for TITAN workout gear but I haven't had time to put them together. That channel isn't monetized anymore so everything i do there is for free
Thanks for the video and the time stamps really help
Awesome video. Thank you so much 🙂
ive spent the last couple of weeks weighing up my options to upgrade my interface currently using the old saffire series and yes i love them but firewire isnt so convenient and its becoming less and less stable with each windows update unfortunately
so Ive pretty much settled on getting one of these and the sp8 expansions [probably going to buy one at a time although im trying to get a bundle lol] thanks for the indepth tutorial/analysys nice and clearly presented and when i get it il be coming back to this video at least a few times to refresh my memory on how to do a few of the things you explain
nice and clearly presented and from what i can make out youv confirmed that this would be a good choice for me
all the best :-)
this its soo good. This card its woow
BE... the user guide. Thank you so much for this.
Fantastic video!
Thanks!
Thank you very much, very professional video!!!
Full stars top quality video - Thanks!!! :)
Very thorough thank you 😎
Great video! Very informative. How is the latency on these when using average plugins during recording? How good do the windows drivers behave?
Thanks for Your work!
Hi... Does this soundcard work standalone.. as in without computer?
I have the same presonus interface but how do you connect and use your outboard hear with that unit?? I cant figure out how to get it to playback. I have it all connected right and can get the sound out into the unit but cant hear anything back into the interface
Hey! Thank you for this awesome video 🤘I’ve been popping in/out to learn little bits here and there.
Is there a way to bypass the preamps of this? If I’m using an outboard mic pre - does it bypass if I use a TRS cable in? Or do I have to set the preamp gain at “0” if it’s not bypassed fully?
Thx. So there is no way to control the speaker volume from the mixer app ? Only the though the Evo 16 control wheel ?
thank you very much! how about multichannel(5.1) non asio output for windows wdm software? Do EVO16 have this configuration in windows?
so it cannot be routed to 5.1 or Dolby atmos right? since everything is routed to main mix and every pair at a time.
Any update on this? Has anything changed with the changes to Mac Sequoia and the ability to decode atmos in the OS and route to an external multichannel interface?
most valuable video. Thank you❤
Is it possible to connect a surround system?
@@BenoniStudio Thanks brother I appreciate it!! 👍🏻👍🏻
(This is also Google Translate)
When I used evo4, mic 1 and mic 2 were separated.
→ Mic | Line | Instrument 1 (Audient EVO4) and Mic | Line 2 (Audient EVO4)
The Evo 16 has stereo inputs for Windows which is different from the Evo 4 and 8. So instead of using 3 and 4, use 3 and 5 or 7 👍👍
@@BenoniStudio Thank you so much for suggesting an alternative.
@@BenoniStudio Thanks so much
Can you use the Autogain while running into the ADAT?
This is such an amazing review and tutorial. I do have a question. I would like to use the digital I/O for spdif to use an Axe Fx III do I need a converter since the connection type is optical and not coaxial?
Can smart gain be started from the mixer app, ? without touching the hardware is what i mean
i want to use it for 5.1 monitor control as it has 8 =( 6+2) outs. can i control all channels volume (LRCLfeLsRs) through out single volume control ? because it says Direct out cant have volume control .. what will be the best scenario for the 5.1 monitor control?
Hi! @Audient can we get a volume control Mac Os, just as Evo 8 or 4, i'm able to control the volume control through the keyboard on Evo 4 but not on the Evo 16, a firmware update could do so, i believe. Thanks
How would you rate the ad/da converters on evo 16?
Work in ipad? IOs?
Hi how is the latency if I want to hear a mic with some effects like reverb or compression as it shows in the video the lowest buff is 16 ms and it seems to high
Agreed. If the latency is low this is a no-brainer and makes it a real competitor with interfaces twice it's price.
thanks for the review, seems like you have experience with the id44 too, do you know why the evo 16 is cheaper than the id44 despite having more input pres? what do you get on the id44 for paying more?
@@BenoniStudio thanks for getting back to me. I will try that.
does this work on an iphone?
My digital inputs 15/16 (23 and 24 in DAW) seem to be stuck to the loopback function. Although 15 and 16 digital in is getting the audio signal from the source in the evo mixer, mye DAW is not. Every other channel goes right through to daw but not digital 15 and 16
Any suggestions out there?
@@BenoniStudio Thanks mate!!!!
Sir, can Evo 16 be used for Dolby?
Can I route the different sounds of the 16 mixed channels of the daw to different speakers?
As long as the program you are using that is setup for 5.1 or Dolby Atmos, under settings it has output option assignments. davinci resolve can do this, Reaper can do this.
Thanks, you are great
What's up man great video I been watching cuz I got mine and i'm still learning it by looking at your video its very helpful.
@@BenoniStudio Thanks alot man that worked
Can you use the Evo 16 as a stand alone mic preamp, without needing to connect the Evo 16 up to a computer?
yes. as covered in the video you can setup the mixer when connected to a computer and save it to the EVO 16 unit. support.audient.com/hc/en-us/articles/6578288789652-EVO-16-Standalone-Operation
My problem is the daw thru output changes the volume. It overrides what is actually being sent. What is the fix?
How do you change the buffer size on a mac? 🤯 There is no buffer size option in the setup menu.
Maybe I’m missing something, but does the unit offer a master mute functionality?
check the chapters for the Mute section at 24:04 you can mute inputs or main output
So the input line is not for instruments, synths? What would it be used for? Tracking drums and vocals?
Instrument has a specific meaning here, I am referring to Instrument Level and not physical instruments. The most common instruments that output Instrument Level are guitar and bass. A synth will output Line Level.
@@BenoniStudio ok got confused for a bit, you cleared it up, got cha, thanks💪
@@BenoniStudio do you think that audient evo 16 outweighs Focusrite 18i20? Or is the opposite?
The Evo has a larger dynamic range, but the Scarlett has a slightly higher Max output (12dBu vs 15.5dBu) [MAINS]
But the Evo has a higher headphone output level at 11.25dBu vs 7dBu of the Scarlett.
@@BenoniStudio thank you so much for your response 🙌
How to control the 8 outputs at once ? Without using a cue mix
Is EVO16 class compliant? Can I use it with an iPad?
In standalone mode, can you set the sample rate or is it automatic? No videos of the EVO 16 anywhere being used in stand alone. I'm curious to know If the EVO 16 would work with an MPC live 2 and other hardware as a class compliant audio interface.
You can hook it up to any device that has right inputs and outputs, but I think you won't be able to adjust Sample rate of EVO without software or linking it to master devices word clock (Master being device which word clock output is connected to EVOs word clock input).
do u know if we can add plugins to the input channels...for monitoring only, not for recording. like if a vocalist wants reverb. sometimes I use compression to help with lidtening volume too
No. The on screen mixer does not host plugins. All plugins would be in your DAW.
Bro do you know if there is any way to get rid of the white outline and gap between the window tabs and make the window bars dark ?
how many headphones output can be used? say you wanna record a band of four people and needs five headphones
Add a headphone amp if you need more than two 👍
The EVO mixer looks much like Ableton UI in terms of graphics. Not sure how much I like it tbh...Ive gotten used to UAD which looks great imho.
WHERE DO YOU SET THE SAMPLE RATE???? My eyesight is poor, and I can't find it ANYWHERE!!!! PLZ HELP!!!!
