The action doesn't really start until the third or fourth book

I don't understand why people hate the transformers movies so much. They're just fun popcorn flicks that are about giant robots fighting, what part of that synopsis makes you think it's going to be anything more than a fun, innocent summer blockbuster? I feel like Independence Day suffers from the same thing.
The first movie was sort of a guilty pleasure flick, but my god the others (especially the second) are michael bay at his worst (well maybe not as bad as his extremely disrespectful pearl harbor movie). Anyway pretty much everything you know and hate about michael bay is cranked up to eleven for transformers--Forced oversexualization of women, racist humour that isnt funny nor original, more 'murican than texas, bad dialogue, excessive product placement, reusing shots, and an idea that a movie should prioritize explosions. The explosive action that michael bay is known is pretty bad (save for that one scene from pearl harbor), and this movie really lets it show how not to make explosive type action. Action movies based on destruction and pyrotechnics should be like mad max--full of some of the best stuntwork ever--and not like transformers; where more explosions go off to put a ww1 battlefield to shame, cgi is abused, and the "focus" of the action is an incomprehensible robot orgy.
I knew it was a Christian movie. BUT, I also knew that the Nicholas Cage version of Left Behind is terrible even before watching it. That movie insulted me for its poor adaptation of the events from the book of Revelations of the Great Tribulation. I feel bad for people who suffered watching through such garbage and insulting mess.

There are two theories on this, he is either taking every role offered to help his debt/tax problem, or he is in reality the world's greatest actor, and taking these mediocre roles are to push his acting to the limits.
I think his downfall really started after the second national treasure movie.

I haven't, because I never saw any Transformer movies. By now, he probably regrets "Age Of Extinction" nearly as much as he does "Boogie Nights". But any respect or faith you had in Mark can be restored with one viewing of "Patriot's Day", no one but a native Bostonian like him should've been cast in the lead.

They're just fun popcorn flicks that are about giant robots fighting, what part of that synopsis makes you think it's going to be anything more than a fun, innocent summer blockbuster? Jack Marshall Transformers Is Boring
The first movie was sort of a guilty pleasure flick, but my god the others (especially the second) are michael bay at his worst (well maybe not as bad as his extremely disrespectful pearl harbor movie). Anyway pretty much everything you know and hate about michael bay is cranked up to eleven for transformers--Forced oversexualization of women, racist humour that isnt funny nor original, more 'murican than texas, bad dialogue, excessive product placement, reusing shots, and an idea that a movie should prioritize explosions. The explosive action that michael bay is known is pretty bad (save for that one scene from pearl harbor), and this movie really lets it show how not to make explosive type action. Action movies based on destruction and pyrotechnics should be like mad max--full of some of the best stuntwork ever--and not like transformers; where more explosions go off to put a ww1 battlefield to shame, cgi is abused, and the "focus" of the action is an incomprehensible robot orgy.

That movie insulted me for its poor adaptation of the events from the book of Revelations of the Great Tribulation.
