Thank you. I lived in Chicago for many years. It’s great to see a company whose products are more than a house but a wholistic approach to neighborhood development and improvement from within the same area. Awesome!
@@freddybell8328 Are you kidding? Having found a way to vertically manage the WHOLE process, they've also cut through all the normal NIMBY & institutional red tape, to offer a full spectrum of services & can still make a small profit. Great interview. One of my favorites you've done. The homes are great, and the founder has marvelous energy and vision. Such an amazing business model, that can do so much good for the new home owners, and at the same time for so many in the community. Brilliant!

Very nice, especially for the real world and the tight, financially-stressed, urban setting. These are the “best uses” of prefab, where all the advantages come into play. Contrast the wide-frontage ADUs with huge window walls for wealthy buyers who have huge lots. These narrow units can fit most any American urban environment.

Hi from Sydney, the 2nd most expensive housing market in the world where the median is 1.2mil aud for a 3 bedder. So much to like about this story. Not just an affordable pre-fab home, but re-creating community. Like the focus on high energy efficiency (low utility cost, etc), and building trade skills within the larger community. That they offer lots of exterior custom options, it give homeowners the ability to customize the look of their home while managing building costs with a similar interior floorpan. Hopefully you can revisit in the future to see how Inherent Homes is evolving as a builder, and the impact they're having on the community. Great story. We need more of these in other North American communities.
Many industries rely on dog & pony shows and carnival barkers to attract customers, and apply smoke and mirrors to distract them from their obvious failings or rip offs. Sadly this is the MO of most of the residential building industry and players on the modular and prefab side of things. Not here. Inherent Homes has the right approach and mission. If I could have my feet cooperate, I would give them four thumbs up. This is the first video showcasing a company that didn't raise red flags or offer an unpleasant whiff of usury. Bravo!

i'm from Brazil and i found that brilliant, i can see the aplication of this model of housing and business development in various places, no only Brazil, but several regions. Really awesome.
WOW! God bless! I used to live in Southside Chicago, if it's affordable, it's a dump, and even back in the 80's this was true. I LOVE the layout, inside and out, very good looking units. It's nice and new, lovely design. I realize it's a bit pricey, but with the new projects, he's considering everyone's situation, I like the sound of the bungalows, too. I have high hopes for his company. I really would love to see more companies following his example, not everybody can just LEAVE the city, for whatever reason and buy rural property. I love this project.
What’s new is old. When I was serving in Japan in 1980s, my in-laws lived in a house that was modularized. Four modules, about the size of a shipping container, were customized and put together to form a house on a basement level foundation. These houses in Chicago look really nice.
This ticks so many boxes for millions of people who need homes without huge costs, also socially helpful, and very helpful to the big shortage of skilled labor. If I recall correctly, there is a shortage of 5,500 plumbers in the U.S.! The trades are excellent sources of lifelong employment. Just so cool!
I'm impressed! Very aspect of this home, it's organizational function, and the overall intelligence of the builder is a first of its' kind. What a very well built home with great energy effigiency and purpose. My hope is that they will work hard to keep the property taxes way way down so the families that are blessed to recieve the grants and perks of such a beautiful home can afford to keep it.
Excellent. 🙂👌 This is the way things should be done in these times. They are not just building "affordable" housing, but they are also helping the purchasers find >agreeable financing. And providing good permanent jobs. And utilizing dilapidated, empty lots. And helping to establish, to develop and to support small associated businesses. They are tackling the rebuilding and revitalizing of community. I would love to see what their smaller, bungalow units are going look like. Hopefully no big corporate realty organizations are going to come in, take over and ruin all of this....by reverting to doing things the way big corporate realty organizations most often do
We need more people in home development like THIS guy. Holy cow. Suggestion for Kerry too would be not to overload the channel with affordability topics, but more focus on good people doing good work to improve affordability like this dude wouldn't be amiss!
I watched this video and immediately got excited and hopeful followed by depression 😢. It's amazing what this company does. I wish it were in my area. If they get to Tennessee that'd be great but cheers to dreaming
It's great they're doing this and the house looks great, but I'm assuming the house cost doesn't include land, which must be pretty pricey in a city. He's very articulate and passionate about their mission! Thanks for covering this, Kerry.

Hopefully no big corporate realty organizations are going to come in, take over and ruin all of this....by reverting to doing things the way big corporate realty organizations most often do
Wow.
Wow!!!!!!
What an amazing company!
Thanks for watching 🙌🏼
Very impressed with what's going on there. Great find Kerry. Hope to see more of what they are doing... When is the factory visit?
Nothing planned yet, hopefully soon
We need more people in home development like THIS guy. Holy cow. Suggestion for Kerry too would be not to overload the channel with affordability topics, but more focus on good people doing good work to improve affordability like this dude wouldn't be amiss!
Thank you for the feedback!
I watched this video and immediately got excited and hopeful followed by depression 😢. It's amazing what this company does. I wish it were in my area. If they get to Tennessee that'd be great but cheers to dreaming
Thanks for watching! Maybe one day they will be
I have a modular home in gulfport fl. It survived the two recent hurricanes. I'm a fan
nice!
I love this home design. Could see myself living in it solo, using 1 bedroom as an office and then have a guest bedroom or maybe just storage.
Sounds like a great plan. Thanks for watching
What an impressive business model for turning regular people into home owners
Right?
Wow! This guy is a superstar.
thanks for watching
Great report on an organization that is apparently doing things the way they should be done.
thank you
This is exciting!
Agreed!
It's great they're doing this and the house looks great, but I'm assuming the house cost doesn't include land, which must be pretty pricey in a city. He's very articulate and passionate about their mission! Thanks for covering this, Kerry.
It does include the land on this one! Thats turn key for that exact home
It's good to see this trend happening.
100%
i like his solution all in one very thoughtful.
Glad you like it
