Thanks for the brain food, Fred. I ditched the big cellular companies several years ago. Straight up bought a somewhat fancy phone and switched to a smaller carrier that uses the same towers as the big overpriced carrier. For $35 a month I get unlimited everything in the US and Canada. I think there are some limitations internationally. I've had the same number for over 20 years. Some of my friends don't mind paying $1300 for a fancy phone and $130 a month to use it. Just not practical for me and my fixed income. For the 3 years my son was stationed in Europe, he could always call or text anywhere there was wifi. That was comforting.
