Lady Tremaine may be the most iconic “stepmother” ever to have existed in cinema, but not necessarily for a positive reason. No, she was the character who solidified the idea of a “wicked” or “evil” step-parent. That being said, her greedy and self-righteous attitude didn’t simply weigh heavily upon her infamous stepdaughter, Cinderella. Sadly, even her own daughters had to face their mother’s toxic love- a love so toxic that it involved Lady Tremaine favoring one of her children over the other. But if that wasn’t disgusting enough, the reason why Lady Tremaine favored Drizella over Anastasia is genuinely haunting. Especially when you consider the idea that Drizella could have grown up to become an amazing person had she not been manipulated her whole life by her wicked mother.

But if you looked closely at Drizzella after Anastasia got her happiness, she hesitated to following her mother and realized that she had a choice of following her mother or following her own path to happiness, however she still had to follow her mother after she was called out to. She knew that her finding love was possible but she was scared because of her mother’s harsh treatment of her upbringing and was afraid of what she might do to her if she was to break her mother’s cycle as well!
Anastasia was undeniably complicit in the bullying and abuse Cinderella endured at the hands of Lady Tremaine in the first movie, but once she met the baker, she decided to break the cycle of Lady Tremaine’s cold-blooded and gold-digging nature. In the sequels, Anastasia stole my heart and became one of the best characters. She had great character development and a well-deserved redemption arc. Watching her grow closer with Cinderella, right her wrongs, and the fact that Cinderella held no grudges or ill will toward Anastasia despite the way she treated her was very impressive. Compared to Drizella or Lady Tremaine, Anastasia was not a bad person, she just was a product of how she was raised.
Drizella was more of a henchman, but still was a product of kids who pick up behaviors and attitudes from their parents because they think it’s normal or they think it’s how they’re supposed to be.
In the remake though, Anastasia becomes just like her mother. Disney confirmed some time ago Anastasia was the new lady tremaine in the remake. Cinderella and Charming only have one son in Desendants and there’s a fan theory the original Cinderella named her daughter Ella and she died. Somehow charming left the throne and another family took power via Kit’s father. It makes sense so obviously the baker had to have left Anastasia for some odd reason.it’s stated in the remake Anastasia married for love and remarried a second time and the 3rd was for cinderellas husband. Makes sense to me considering Disney has confirmed the remakes are continuations of the original stories and take place before Desendants and after the original stories.
And like what you said about Anastasia only wanting to marry Prince because of the high status and wealth like I'm pretty sure she wanted to marry the prince because Anastasia loved him
There’s two types of people in an abusive household. The one that continues the cycle of abuse by being abusive and the one that breaks the cycle and does not become abusive
I think it's good that the second and third film gave Anatasia the redemption arc
I think the sequel is differently than the 3rd movie. Cause the way I see that, came from different timeline. In the sequel Anastasia broken off from her biological mother, to stay with the baker. In the 3rd movie, Anastasia stayed with her biological mother, and take a wild guess who’s at the wedding? You guessed right, the baker. And that’s my theory of the father to Anthony from Descendants books. The baker and Anastasia. And I already found out in Descendants, Dizzy’s father is Prince Hans from Frozen movie. That would made Drizella a princess. Lady Tremaine got her way through Drizella, not Anastasia. I don’t know why that Drizella is the first borne to Lord and Lady Tremaine.
Perhaps Drizella could've also been saved if she was also smitten by a boy.
This is a bit debatable. You may good points but in the third movie, Lady Tremaine uses the magic wand to make the glass slipper fit Anastasia’s foot and not Drizella, which might show that she favoured Anastasia, hence wanting her to marry the prince and rule over the kingdom
She only did that because she prove her self for finding the wand she always favorite derizlla though
2024 . They should make a Cinderella 4 were they explore drizellas character and also give her a redemption

That's what basically it is in the first movie she wanted to marry the prince because she loved him and like who wouldn't same for the other sister
And on the record Lena parrilla once said that he didn't believe that Eva was born Lena parrilla as Regina Mills believed that evil is made.

The real reason behind the wicked abusive behavior of Madonna Tremaine because lady Tremaine while the ones in Cinderella's position.
Lady Jermaine had to learn the hard way and see the world as it is dark and that ithe world has it's crueltis. and not all perky sunshine and rainbows

Both stepsisters were written as wicked but Anastasia didn't appear to be that we could at all so you appeared to be a softy at heart.
True is David did have her small time called hearted moments of the most part She was just seeking attention.
Endless validation in a conditional love based on how other people got her to negatively feel.
Please don't say anything about Les Tremaine favoring Zilla over Anastasia because of what happened in the the third movie

I have to say like thank you so much for making this video me and my sister both want to say thank you to it's very very great you did a good job
I feel like I'm in a similar situation as a grandchild; my maternal grandfather, who is wealthy (to a degree, especially after getting a good investment returns from the pandemic), has extremely high expectations for his grandchildren. My mom's parents had three children - a daughter, a son, and another daughter, my mom, born a decade after the first. Each child would have two sons born within a five-year length, so I am one of six grandsons. My grandfather prefers his elder daughter over my mom because she's older, works a regular shift and is married to a sales executive. Thus, he prefers my eldest cousin over the rest because he is handsome, smart, has a girlfriend, lives on his own and already works a high-paying job in his twenties. Though I'm just a year and a half younger than him, I'm his polar opposite, having never had a partner and still living with my parents because I lack the budget to go far. My grandfather showers my cousin with praise, but snaps at me for being cowardly and sensitive. My grandfather isn't exactly evil, per se, but he's extremely strict and does not appreciate me despite my efforts to live up to his expectations.

Having ‘wicked’ stepsisters myself who betrayed me, I’m hip to the nuances and caveats of the story’s subplot… and it hurts!
My sister also says like what you said in the first movie about lady Tremaine having a favorite yeah like that never happened and it's most likely not possible that she did in the first movie
And I wonder what the real lady Tremaine would say or think about this she would say that she would never pick favorites she likes her daughters equally
But if Drizella was more favered then Anastasia why did their mother give Anastasia everything and basically leave Drizella in the dust?
anastasia had the luck to find the wand and, as seen in the third movie, picked up more from the manner lessons they would've had both had to sit through

Is it me, but in one of the Disney parades (Calafornia), or it could've been a meet and greet, I am sure I heard Anastasia say that she was the favourite.
