    Thomas Nelson who owns the right to the NKJV is owned by Zondervan which is responsible for the New International Version. Zondervan is owned by Harper Collins which is not a Christian company. Churches need to publish high quality bibles not secular companies

I just want to get insights from you guys because I've been searching for Bible versions and would want to have a study Bible to study deeper the Word of God. Can you enlighten me with the KJV Study Bibles you use including the publishers you trusted. Thank you.

    Did you know the original KJV had the apocrypha in it for 274 years.
    "The apocrypha is a selection of books which were published in the original 1611 King James Bible. These apocryphal books were positioned between the Old and New Testament (it also contained maps and geneologies). The apocrypha was a part of the KJV for 274 years until being removed in 1885 A.D. A portion of these books were called deuterocanonical books by some entities, such as the Catholic church."

      King James Version Defended page 98.
      In 1599, TWELVE YEARS BEFORE the King James Bible was published, King James said this about the Apocrypha:
      "As to the Apocriphebookes, I OMIT THEM because I am no Papist (as I said before)..."

      King James Charles Stewart
      BasiliconDoron, page 13
      Not only this, but the sixth article of the Thirty-nine Articles of the Church of England (1571 edition) states:
      "In the name of the Holy, we do vnderstande those canonical bookes of the olde and newe Testament, of whose authoritie was never any doubt in the Churche..."
      Now concerning the apocrypha he states,
      "And the other bookes, (as Hierome sayeth), the Churche doth reade for example of life and instruction of manners: but yet doth it not applie them to establish any doctrene ".
      Philip Schaff, Creeds of Christendom. Grand Rapids: Baker Book House, 1977, Vol. III, pp. 489-491.
      The Apocrypha began to be omitted from the Authorized Version in 1629. Puritans and Presbyterians lobbied for the complete removal of the Apocrypha from the Bible and in 1825 the British and Foreign Bible Society agreed. From that time on, the Apocrypha has been eliminated from practically all English Bibles--Catholic Bibles and some pulpit Bibles excluded.

      read from the KJV.. it is the Most trustworthy...
      I have studied that for some time... and I agree... the NKJV.. did way more than try to make the KJV more readable... they changed many verses unnecessarily.. and in some cases made many harder to understand...
      more notable corruptions...
      Numbers 21:14
      Acts 17:22
      Haggai 10
      Revelation 4:11
      1 Corinthians 1:18
      Song of Solomon 3:9
      try looking some of THOSE verses up...
      other translations corrupt God's word in many various places though...
      another notable corruption is how they handle 1 John 5:6-8
      also see how 1 John 5:13 was changed by adding one word "continue"... in the NKJV..
      by simply adding JUST that one word... it changes the crux of the point John was trying to make towards believers..

    Brother Jon:
    I am not TR-only, but for some purposes I do love and use, and recommend the KJV. Especially for the times we live in.
    ............
    May I please ask a question?
    I am now using a KJV with the Translators' study notes. They contain very helpful cross-references and alternate translations. These are printed in a narrow column down the middle of each page.
    So I have been telling people, "The original KJV was a STUDY BIBLE!"
    ............
    QUERY
    But, what do yourself teach about these study notes?
    (I want to avoid offending brethren who may not see them the way I do.)
    Thanks!
    Have a gold day!

      The real teacher for a Christian is the Holy Spirit. But there is nothing wrong with trying to glean from what he has taught others. No one has figured it all out and you will see both error and inspiration from others’ notes.
      (1Cor 1:12-13; John 16:13; 1Cor 2:11; 1Cor 2:13)
      I like using “Treasury of Scripture Knowledge” it’s a concordance and chain-reference system by R A Torrey published in 1836.
      I do not like Strongs concordance because of its use of Greek and Hebrew.
      Even the “Treasury of Scripture Knowledge” has thing that need to be ignored when he goes into Greek and Hebrew and his doctrinal stance on Israel is in error.

      @@jeffcarlson3269 We never needed a version that was more readable. the KJV is so easy even a child can understand it. I was a child and understood it with no problem and when many of my Christians friends tried to convince me to try a version (in the 80s) I said NO, and just trying to read another version showed me they were not the same as my KJV Bible. The 'Thee' and 'Thou' etc. are necessary.

    Theological ignorance .
    “Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.”
    ‭‭Nehemiah‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Hello. Just started getting into the majority text arguments, and the abominations called codex sinaiticus and vaticanus. It led me to the version comparisons.
    I can see some good points you make, and also some hair splitting going on (I'm reading the notes along side and looking up the KJV Strongs also).
    For example, testament vs covenant. The KJV uses these two words interchangeably, as it also does for other words you have marked as differences between kjv and nkjv.
    You also say the nkjv doesn't say new testament in the text. Thats true, but it does say testament , it occurs in three places (2 cor 3v4, Hebrews 9v16,17, the last two in context of 'new '). I dont know the real reason why nkjv have it here and not elsewhere.
    Also noteworthy is the KJV itself uses new covenant in other places (Hebrews 8v8, 12v24), so new testament isn't the only way the translators rendered the words or the meaning of the testament made ny Jesus.
    Hell vs Sheol does make it more accurate. Its up to the reader to think if more accuracy makes more sense/easier to read, especially in view that readers will also read the n.t. where hell is used for both of the greek words hades and Gehenna, which mean different things.
    The worst example in your notes is luke 21v8, where the KJV says Christ and the nkjv says he. The christ is in italics: its not in the text, so at this instance the nkjv is more accurate and the christ should be skipped if the reader wishes to be accurate when reading the KJV, as its not there.
    I suggest you assess the matter more in depth, and be equally critical of the KJV so you dont let your biases entrench your teaching and outlook.
    Rest assured though, I have zero desire to read anything but KJV for study and meditation. It definitely is the best English version because of the way we got it (superb translators from the best sources) and how it reads so well.

    First...Could I be Wrong? ABSOLUTELY YES! But, ALL others, Could be Wrong too! Thus, I believe now, Kind Sir Pastor(s)s this...
    I have researched Bibles deeply; for the Last 17 yr; of my 92 Yrs old age. And, if Christians do not know; what happened over the last 2,000 yrs of "English Bibles"; they would go crazy when they learn; how the English Bible were written and published, to this day. IE...
    The differences of KJV vs NKJV; had MANY changes. Also, there are 3 major KJV's from 1611 AD, until 1885 AD, until 1973 AD! Where there were MANY "Corrections". Oh yes. Most won't believe that, but it IS True. For...
    The first KJV Bible in 1611 AD, was called "The Original"! And believe it or not; it had 80 Books (NOT 66)! "39 OT's, 14 Apocrypha's and 27 NT's". And the 80 books in the KJV, stayed that way for 274 yrs. Then they published an "Authorized" KJV, in 1885 AD. But with only 66 books! And 88 yrs...
    Later, in 1973 AD, they created the NKJV. And millions of the "Elizabethen" Words; were thrown out! From Gen to Rev! Believe it or not. And again, untold errors, were corrected again!
    And after that: Bible Translator and Scholars published 2 New more Bibles; that are said to be; "The most Accurate Translated EVER'! The first, was the NASB in 1972 AD. And the NIV in 1973 AD.
    Now, the "New American Standard Bible"; was translated "Word by Word". And the “New International Version” was translated "Phrase by Phrase".
    So, they suggested: to "Use the NIV; unless you are VERY UP on the English language. Because the NASB, gets hard in many places, to understand; IF not up on the English language".
    End of Story and I rest me case...
    ...in any case Brethren, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!

      an interesting observation.....I favor the KJV myself... but the church I a in now uses the NASB95.... we have some people who bring an NIV to church but when called to read in Sunday School class sometimes they cannot read the verse since some verses are plain omitted in the NIV... most notably Acts 8:37
      as far as the NASB95 being not as easy to understand as the NIV...
      YOU ARE WRONG..!...

      Wrong.
      Immortality is conditional.
      Shall *mortal man* be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?
      {Job 14:7}
      Let not sin therefore reign in *your mortal body* that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
      {Romans 6:12}
      For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest *in our mortal flesh*
      {2 Corinthians 4:11}
      For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and *this mortal* must put on immortality.
      So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and *this mortal* shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
      {1 Corinthians 15:53-54}
      But *if* the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken *your mortal bodies* by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
      {Romans 8:11}
      “And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again
      👉at the last day.”
      “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up
      👉at the last day.”
      {John 6:39-40}
      “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up
      👉at the last day.”
      {John 6:44}
      “Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up
      👉at the last day.”
      {John 6:64}
      But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's *at his coming*
      {1 Corinthians 15:23}
