Good evening everyone! Thank you for joining me for this week’s recipe video. I’ll be down in the comments for a while :) come and say Hello! Consider subscribing if you’re new…and give the video a wee like please :)
Thank you for this recipe. I will have to use dried herbs as fresh are not really available here during the winter months. The stores have packages of fresh herbs but they are often black and rotten.
I am from the South ( louisiana/ mississippi) in the USA 🇺🇸 We have cornbread dressing & gibblet gravy w cranberry sauce on the side 😋 Traditional holiday fare! It's so good, y'all ❤
I grew up with stuffing/dressing with a chicken or turkey. I'd never thought of using breadcrumbs instead of tore up dry bread. My mom and my grandma always used dry bread, sage, celery, onions, chicken bullion, water, salt and pepper.
I always thought these stuffing balls were bought, frozen, and in a bag... I am so happy they are homemade and now I have the recipe!!! 🎉🎉 Thank you Cheryl! ❤️
I have just found you. It made you Christmas as my aunty was from Shortland she is no with us the Christmas but you warm the hart and it like she is with us. Thank you I love this stuffing I have made mine gluten free thank you.
Love the addition of the soup instead of the water….and the canned breadcrumbs. Much less mess!! We like ours baked in the tin.( round loose bottomed sponge cake tin I use ) It’s always nice to see other peoples take on accompaniment dishes. 🏴👍🏴 Ps I live on an island too….The Isle of Wight….One end to the other!!
Just found your UA-cam channel and after 40 years of marriage, I made doughballs for the first time last night . They were enjoyed by all of us Next week, I am making lorne sausage and Morton's rolls for the first time Love your recipes Many thanks ❤
It wouldn't be the holidays without stuffing/dressing! I like to add some tarragon to my dressing, as both sage and thyme can be a bit bitter, and tarragon adds a buttery, subtle sweetness to the stuffing.
They look delicious. I always make my own stuffing but would never have thought to add chickdn soup to bind it, so going to give it a go. I love stuffing balls just could eat them on their own without the dinner & gravy
They certainly look worth a try. We tend to have a barbecue here in New Zealand for Christmas, but these would do nicely as a side. Interesting that you said the soup is a binding agent, I use egg, or two, and a couple of teaspoons of dry chicken stock. I think my mother popped a bit of baking powder to help lighten. Not sure about the chemistry of that. Thank you.
we make stuffing for Thanksgiving and Christmas in my family. We dont use bread crumbs tho. dried cubed or chunked bread. makes me want to try them w plain bread crumbs. i make stuffing balls as well but bake them.w gravy on top. ❤❤
Thanks for uploading. This recipe reminds me of the hush puppies that we have here in the United States (in the South, that is). We usually eat hush puppies with seafood.
I’ve never done stuffing in balls before…I think that’s brilliant. Have you ever made them ahead and frozen them? I’m wondering if forming them into balls, then freezing them, and baking them off as you need them would work. Or, because of the relatively dry, loose mixture, would they just fall apart? Cheers, and ATB!
My goodness , never heard of chicken soup in stuffing before , but hey really clever , why not Cheryl , I would just use melted butter and even a beaten egg to combine , I do know over here for a few years Campbells Soup was no longer available as it had been taken over by Bachelor's , and thought what will I use now for my famous Mushroom Patties aka Vol u vents , thank you for sharing another great recipe ❤😊 Cheryl
Hey, Cherly. You can't beat the sage and onion flavour. What a great idea making stuffing balls! In regards to the soup, can you use cream of tomato? I have that flavour in the cupboard ready to use. 😊xx
Those look lovely, but we don’t have canned soup of that kind where I live - could I replace it with something like mashed potatoes, or does it need some sort of protein to bind?
I've never seen stuffing 'balls' before. I like the idea. Our recipes are very similar with the exception of adding small diced apple to my stuffing. I like that you stick to traditional stuffing/dressing ingredients. I've never understood why anyone would add sausage/bacon/oysters to a side dish when you already have a protein as a main. Campbell's C of C is a great product to cook with. Sometimes I use it for a quick chicken/turkey pot pie. Thank you for sharing your recipe. Much appreciated.

I used to do this with the Paxo Stuffing mix when i could find it over here, now i can make it without the mix.:)
great wee recipe, can't wait to get stuffed 👍
Just an FYI, "get stuffed" means f*ck off or "get the H3ll away from me" in many English dialects.
Wow so yummy, Cheryl!!
I'm making these beauties. TY. I could eat stuffing every week. Love ya.
Thank you for sharing, I'll be making these this year!

I’d think you’d end up with something with a bloody-pink color. But maybe give it a try and see what you get... ???

You could use some egg. I make mine with sausage meat, fresh breadcrumbs, herbs and a little egg to bind.
That's unknown things in Sweden, but I'd love to love them a try! Do you eat stuffing only at christmas?
No, stuffing goes with most poultry, chicken and turkey. It goes well with pork too.

Tasty ❤️👍🏻😊
I am going to try these stuffing balls, however I will have to leave the celery out..I am allergic to celery 😢😮😊
Parsley, sage & thyme?
Something is missing - rosemary - that would make them Scarborough Fair stuffing balls!
What is Jasper getting for Christmas?
very different from American stuffing!
Can I use something instead of the celery? I've just found out I'm intolerant to it 🤦♀️
Big plate please hen xx
🍽🍽🍽🍽🍽🤩
they look like little sawdust balls.
Very nice. Thanks. Aussie Bob 😊
