  • At 26 years old, Eric O’Neill was recruited for the case of a lifetime: tasked with spying on a master spy and bringing to justice one of the most damaging double agents in American history. FBI agent Robert Hanssen was suspected of sharing US secrets with the Russians for nearly two decades, and now O’Neill was trapped in a one-on-one relationship with him-Hanssen was his boss- and also his target.
Join O’Neill as he reveals what it was like to play a real life cat-and-mouse game with a mole. He’ll share the insights that he gained from the benefit of hindsight as he wrote his new book Gray Day; O’Neill truly conveys the intense and incredible position he found himself in with a volatile and brilliant spy who had kept one step ahead of the FBI for years.

Mr. Oneill is more charasmatic than the actor who portrayed him in breach. It is unsurprising that he was able to maneuver the late robert hanssen into dropping the final package, according to the film which conceded artistic license. Okay, mr. Oneill. I will read gray day.

At 19:00 where Eric describes the woman who was working for Robert Hanssen, and she 'challenged him.' Robert and the office assistant were in a one-on-one meeting in the late afternoon, and the young woman's carpool home was leaving soon. She got up to leave, and told Robert that her ride was leaving soon. He demanded that she stay until he finished with what he was telling her. She said that she would MISS HER RIDE HOME if she did not go right then.
It was then that Robert Hanssen grabbed her by her shoulder, nearly dislocating it. There was. a court case and the FBI hired Plato Cacheris to defend R. Hanssen when the young woman took him to court. If I recall, Hanssen was cleared of charges. This was BEFORE Hanssen was caught making a dead-drop in February of 2001. It's all in the book, "The Bureau and the Mole."

In everything classified, compartmentalization of intel is the method - it doesn't make sense that any mole would have open access to so many projects unless our intelligence communities aren't practicing common sense limitations. Just because someone has an uber security clearance, it still doesn't mean that you share your intel / projects / data with them.

That's a huge mistake, that is still made by westerners, either from Europe or from Americas. They believe that SU transformed into russia, while actually it collapsed and lost a great many of former soviet republics, which are independent states now, that fascist regime of modern ruZZia tends to return back to their orbit, still dreaming of soviet union 2.0, and actually by now they managed to unofficially occupy belarus , due to help of criminal dictator who proclaimed himself a president, while actually he faked the elections. put*n dud the alike thing with Ichkeria ( Chechen republic) tried to do the same with Georgia, just with a partial success. So it's the RSFSR that transformed into ruZZia , other former republics are trying to head their own way, which irritates the terrorist state and dies every crazy thing to not let others do as they please. That's the only real reason of the war against Ukraine , and there's no any other fake reasons, they are trying to makeup every now and then

lastly he probably knows this but in the qm world you dont see anything unless you are watching it (Crenshaw also "you cannot solve a problem you cannot see") so, something is watching everything right now somehow Detecting solving crimes only require a responsible observer what abusers do not want Abusers are adverse to responsible observers they require committing crimes to satisfy their delusions they cannot appreciate how the work of so many people including those of us who are vulnerable or disabled put into working to find out why are are the way we are including reformation from abuser to cooperative independent intelligence and succeed at it Everything no matter what it is- is only doing all its doing to succeed this he is right should be taken extremely seriously because again once you watch an event with more than one observer all bets are off it effects us all to not see is fail Putin is a blind tyrant we are a justice system we are scientists and artists

Eric, I disagree. I understand what you're saying about foreshadowing but none of us who actually enjoyed seeing our loved ones off and actually watching the plane take off ever had any inkling that our harmless " hobby " was gonna be taken away from us forever. So we did take it for granted. I know tons of people my age who never enjoyed seeing people off- and they're not spies! Maybe Hansen ( ? ) used to see his friend off and just this time he dumps him on the curb like a piece of luggage and the friend goes, " What just happened? Did I do anything or say anything to make him angry? "
