I think this is a great explanation of trading in general and pre-race horses in particular. Like all the best strategy videos it was very simple. It's been many years since I've done pre-race but I really enjoyed that, thank you.
Hey Euler - If I understood correctly, interesting that you alluded to stopping trading at the 2 min mark. I always find it really hard to get filled before the 2 min craziness. A consequence of trading between 2 mins and post is I get filled easier but as you mentioned to I can have a string of nice results and then get blown up with a 10 tick loss. I'll revisit my approach.
The market tends to settle again around the 1 minute mark. I mean there are strategies for trading around 2 minutes, but that would require another video. You may want to look at the quality of the race as that affects fill rate before 2 mins.
Peter, i am trying to find other sports markets that this strategy works on, and I'm only really finding that this works well on correct scores late in the game on football. Say 25 minutes from the end, I'm going for scores two or three away. Any ideas?

Peter, do you ever take winning trades in play on longer races to see if you can make more profit than a hedged trade? I guess if you did it wouldn't be as profitable long term.
Hi Peter, I recently started my trading journey and I would like to know how do I place an order up the ladder like you did in the video? When I do it it goes straight in and only after I put the first order through , it allows me to place the orders in the opposite side of the ladder. If the price of a horse is at 4 and I try to place an order at 4.5 to begin with, the money goes straight in. I hope I made myself clear. thx
I tried the strategy for a few days exactly as described in the video.My results at the end of the day were always around zero.So I don't think this strategy has a super stable strike rate unless we make a better selection.

Slightly confused, doing things as I watch this video. My 'Market stake' is being matched but I am certainly not getting the profit once it is, in fact in one tried following the video I lost a tenner.

Markets always pick off the low hanging fruit first. But other strategies come into play over time. But yes, it was very easy in the early days.

Never, they are two completely different market states and carry different risks and rewards. So you can't switch strategy between those states.

Use the odds display and set it to reverse.
