I finally got one after all these years. I cant wait to run it through my monotribe filter. Its quite capable on its own but with a controller it really opens up the possibilities.
The line “the filter design is making me weak, I'm fading away, I'm falling in love“ in my mind was begging for, “the filter design is making me weak, I'm fading away, I'm falling ASLEEP” (as in transported to a dreamy euphoric state). Try it in your mind. It flows perfectly......Great work as always and with some humor. I need to add in all honesty that this “song” is a work of genius. With some alternate lyrics this could be a hit record. The composition, sound design, arrangement, and recording/effects are a master work. Mr. Firechild, you have my respect!

The Stylophone folks needed something like this to be taken seriously. It is a slippery slope trying to make a transition that way, as there are multitudes of analog options these days. I’d imagine with Behringer’s success, and as a template, they’ve created this.
It has a nice timbre.
The fact that you have one, and are very discriminating when choosing a synth to showcase amongst your cultivated collection, speaks to its probable worthiness. Even.if approached by them where they might implore you to create a musical offering such as this, with perhaps even a sponsored backing, I’d imagine you would turn it down unless it was qualiry.

totally agree with you (and this very nice presentation): received mine almost three years ago and got really hooked on it, using it linked to its older brother the Stylophone S2. It is worth adding that both machines are incredibly sturdy (heavy all metal build) and that their design is absolutely amazing.

I can't wait until behringer releases their 2600. Then you gotta tell me your secret sauce for the Kickdrum sound. Sounds kinda like mid 90s Eurodance Kickdrum. I remember building something similar with my Korg Monologue, but i forgot how. Thanks God i could affort one of these Gen-r8 Machines. They really blow the Dust out of the speakers. Are they still produced?

Great one! But my mind wants to replace "falling in love" with "falling asleep" every time. Wouldn't fit the synth, but I can't get over that fact :-D
I get that "Gen R-8" was meant to sound like "generate", but "The Gen R-8" sounds like "degenerate" xD
