I bought a New '22 FTR-S for my 58th birthday because I wanted an American Motorcycle before I die and a Harley isn't my style. So far I've had a motorcycle over 55 years. At first I wasn't sure because it is considerably heavier than an '05 GSXR 1000 but I got used to it and I love it.
I bought the Akrapovic Titanium Head Pipe (Cat eliminated) to go with the Akrapovic canisters. I bought a DYNOJET Power Vison 3 so I can Flash different Tunes, and I put a K & N Air Filter in and that made a difference. The younger generation underestimates this Bike big time.
It's quiet and it runs.
✊😁👍
Good thing that guy came in with all those good questions.
Soul. Character. Closest to a trad looker I'd entertain. Fukn osm tbh
just bought one; low center of gravity is amazing! Difficult keeping the revs down whilst running in!!
Gorgeous love the colors
BRUTAL
Lovin itt😎
I was going to buy one of these until I seen the price. They are beautiful bikes and I'm sure I would love it but bike prices have gone crazy. I remember the good old days when I purchased a brand new Kawasaki 750 turbo for $4500 and I think I got it for 3990
You can still get a new bike for good prices, Honda and royal enfield,I’m really surprised with the prices on Hondas depending on what you want there prices are about the best
Look now, price drops right now are pretty good.
Quick shifter?
Cool idea if they can make the tank into storage
Wow, I bought mine in 2019 for 14 grand ,I didn’t realize they went up that much, guess I’m keeping mine for awhile
I've seen this listed for 12k now in 2024... maybe they're trying clear out the 23 stock. This is the one I'd get.
I love the color and hate TFT displays.
I've never had a bike with ABS and the inability to disable it seems like a shame...but hey, maybe I don't know what I'm missing 🤷🏻♂️
i love ftr
I've had orange tires before on a KTM. Learned my lesson, they look dirty as hell after one ride.
I own 3 Kim’s currently and I feel every bit of your pain 🤣
@@HS4L hahahaha
Orange tires? What?
Hermosa lastima el porta patente en esa posición no va
The problem is that the primary reason to buy a FTR is the flat track look, and the primary reason not to buy one is that there are a dozen other bikes that weigh less, have similar HP, handle as good or better, and cost less...Yami MT09 for example is basically the benchmark or the XSR900, but KTM 890, Kawi has the Z900rs, Triumph Street Triple, and on and on...
so this year for the base and Sport models the paint and plastic bits all but remove the flat track look...and the CE and Carbon are so expensive that it doesn't make any logical sense to buy one considering a Katana costs less than a Carbon. A Triumph Speed Triple comes in about the same... Like my brother works at a dealer, I want to support them, I own a Bobber, which is mechanically great, but again, sorta spendy for not having even simple luxury brand features like Cruise control. So what is the logical reason to get an FTR? How does a consumer justify buying one other than being enamored with the name on the tank?
None of those bikes are v twin. That's at least one reason why some people choose it
@@Crinklidge
Ducati Monster lists 500 bucks below base FTR and it isn't the only one.
Seems that american motorcycle brands are laughing at the face of the costumers like Motus Motorcycles
You by one of these because you don’t want a no character transformer looking Japanese bike and you don’t want the pretentious I am better than you European bike! That’s why! Also if you shop for bikes like you are at Walmart than get yourself a Chinese piece of junk!
If you ever did any flat track racing and you road test this bike I think your going to want one that’s all , a lot of people want to make it more street racing and I guess you could but it’s just fun to ride the way it is
nice bike, but those cans need to be ripped off asap
My question is, if the base model doesn't have all the Ride Modes (Rain, Standard, Sport) and has only 1 Mode - what mode is it - Sport or Standard?
The base model has standard mode.
Good looking bike. I just wish it had more power.
More power? Must be American 😂
@@jaydeno5495 yup.. we have wide open roads out here. 150hp - 180hp is nice to have.
I want an FTR. But color changes won't make me pull the trigger. Get the fuel efficiency above 40mpg and get the range to 180+ miles, and I'll get an FTR Rally.
I love my india
Id like one sittin next to my streetglide, would be a great commuter. But those mirrors MUST be scrapped. And did he say you cannot turn off traction control??
WTF? Did i hear that wrong?
I like this model really different to ugly customs, cruisers or whatever
The clutch hurt my hand after an hour. FMD grow a pair.
Fuel capacity still 3.5 gallon? 👎
I'd love to know why HD is so SCARED TO DEATH to make one of these themselves. God forbid they make something this cool and have to deal with a few boomers at their gates with pitchforks, lol!
Spend a few thousand less on a KTM 1290 learn what a bad ass twin really is........
That stock exhaust is disappointing
Looks like an american biker discovering modern motorbikes😂
Imagine if Harley took the V-Rod engine and made this bike...
I'm going to have to see this bike now
Check out the Buell super cruiser. Looks like an fxr. 450pnds and 175hp.
A buddy of mine has a HD XR1200 and it looks very similar to this bike.
Flat track inspired too.
Looks like they stole it from a Yamaha dealership.
MT 12?
Looks like you need to get yours eyes checked
I hate that exhaust
Nice looking bike but expensive and not practical for anything. Kind of an expensive toy if you can afford it but, don't care about riding much.
Just like a sportbike or cruiser. Big reason to own a motorcycle is the fun, if you're looking for a grocery getter get a car.
@@Oldbmwr100rs I have two trucks but, I prefer my grocery shopping on bike.
Not practical ??? It’s a motorcycle, and a fun one to ride, not a tour or sport bike or cafe bobber it’s a FTR everyone that can’t afford one always has an excuse won’t size wheels cant pack luggage or not practical, it’s just a fun to ride motorcycle and if you think 13-14-15 grand is expensive go look at the Harley’s
@@jamespolucha8790 I just demo rode six Harley models last weekend. Harley prices are crazy but comparable to Indian when comparing apples to apples. FTR is probably similar to new Sportster S in price and performance but, FTR looks more substantial. The new 1250 HD engine is very good though. My first impressions (PanAm, Sportser S) are better than Scout 1200. Both are toy bikes though although both platforms offer potential to be more than what they are now. My guess is that companies are far more interested in profit margin that utility value for customer but, as long as there is sheep there will be wolves.
Need a Mortgage to own one ? $24,000 + , Canadian , on the road. Any add ons puts it over $25,000 , Yikes. In this economy ? Nope.
Who's fault is that? Ain't my problem you live in Trudeau country
Lmao canada
No doubt not to mention at the power its not worth it. I can buy a 2023 speed triple for less than that and its 180hp. I even think the ducati streetfighter is in this price range.
@bigmike9527 dont worry if you are in biden County you aint that far behind 😂.
I got mine for 13,000
Just buy a Yamaha mt10
Mt10 is ugly
Why
Every single bike in the Indian lineup is a direct copy of a Harley Davidson. I really want to buy an Indian, but Jesus make something original
What Harley compares to an ftr
Harley has never made anything remotely like an FTR.
