That looked pretty simple to do. I was kinda intimidated by it before I saw this. Great tip about keeping tools and hardware in front of you at all times.
just found yall through a search because we need to install this on our RV! thanks for the walkthrough and we are glad we stumbled across your channel! -Dan and Blake
What was the part # of that cover ? Trying to find replacement for mine that looked exactly like the ones I’m looking for and haven’t had much luck. Thanks
If you love this video and it helped you out, please hit the APPLAUD button! Got vent cover? It's easy to install. BTW I cant believe I called my pliers a wrench, twice in this video. Never caught it! LOL 🙄
So you don't want to put any caulk around the vent cover from what I understand or you won't be able to raise it up I think I have the same one as you installed? We have had bad rain storms recently for the first time I had a leak, a small drip coming in my bathroom on one corner of the molding of my Maxxair exhaust vent. I took the molding off and it was wet maybe less than a cup of rainwater and left it off and it dried out. It didn't seem like anything spread into the roof or ceiling I just don't know where it was coming from unless it somehow blew in and my vent lid doesn't have a good seal? It's for 2017 model and has seen many sunny days so it is a little dried out. What I did was open it and close it several times and no more drips but the rain has stopped also. The bummer is I was getting ready to head South for the winter and then really want to drop it off for service at the dealership before I go.
Thanks for sharing. I just installed mine and it seems a bit wobbly but secure. Don’t think it will go anywhere but does yours have a rattle when on the road or?
Thanks for sharing. Good info. Will be buying 3 of these. How well do they last from the summer sun? Brittle or? Is white better than black, I would think black would absorb more heat and cause it to break down faster. Thanks . Will hit the like button.
We are on our second season with them. I will tell you that I did put a coat of meguires wax on it at the end of the season and just did for the start of this season. I see not weathering to it yet. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for your prompt reply! I'm am going to install my m Maxxair II's this morning. I noticed that I have 4 upward protruding pieces from the fan, each with a hole in them. Should I just install the vent cover hinges to these four pieces or continue with the install you do in the video? Many thanks 😊
With my regular MaxxAir over the bathroom vent, the vent doesn't open 100%. Did I screw up? I'll install the MaxxAir II's tomorrow but would like my vent to open 100%...thoughts? Great video!
No, it will not open the 100 % you are used to. It will open probably about 87-93% which we have found to be a non issue. Thanks so much for watching and reaching out to us!
Just picked 3 of these vent covers up. After 6 months of having these installed on your trailer what are your thoughts? I’ve seen some people online mention issues with durability? Have you taken your trailer on any trips since the covers have been installed?
Hello Drew, We have done a couple of thousand miles to 5 different locations and have'nt had an issue with them yet. Seem to be holding up just fine for us. All locations in full sunlight.
Nice tutorial. I added one as well but I left a gap between the brackets and the roof. I didn’t want any thing touching the caulking or the roof to prevent any rub through due to vibration
This answers the question I couldn’t find anywhere for whether these would work with the ventadome lids! Thank you!
Thank you!
Thanks for the video, I’m installing two vents on my motorhome class A this weekend.
Glad it helped

Nice install. I was thinking about the same install. Thanks for sharing. Safe travels.
Thanks Steve!

@@TheCampoholics no problem!
Awesome video
Good video...thanks. What about light, does it allow it to pass through? Can't tell how transparent the shroud is.
Thanks Dave, yes it allows light to pass, it is smoke color so not as much as clear, but it does.

That I could never locate also. I had to purchase a new unit when I damaged my cover from a tree limb.
Thanks for replying
Great video, thanks! For installation on Class C motorhome, has anyone noticed noise from buffeting wind while driving? Any comments appreciated.
Thanks for watching!
I have a Max Air cover but it does not have hinges like yours, I like yours much better. Great video.
Thanks Michael!
Nice video, I bought this cover but returned it because I didn’t trust little screws at 65 mph. How are yours holding up over time?
*It 's still on there, been 3 years now so its holding up.*

Thanks for the video, it really helped me with my install on our 5th wheel!
Glad it helped! Thanks for the feedback.

Took me 45 minutes to install 2 lol.. I was in the prone position I didn't want to crush nothing 😅 .. easy install .. nice video
You weren't a little nervous were yah?!?! Thanks for commenting, and watching!
Nice shiny new rig bro! I have to either put some of those on or put some maxxair fans in with built in covers... Hadn't decided yet. Great DIY video
Thank yah Gimpy!

Yes, I have seen some people put dicore on the pins or tape. But I have not and they are still there after 1 year on the road.

Sorry we missed your reply, it was a travel day for us. Hope your install was successful!
Did that screen come with it? Mine didn’t come with the bug screen and from what I’m reading, the manufacturer doesn’t make it for the maxxair II.
No, the screen was an option at the time. So they must have done away with it.

The Campoholics awesome that’s great to hear! I can’t wait to install the covers on my trailer! Thanks for the response!

Great point!
Very Nice install. Like the adaptor for your drill. Where did you get that?
Thank you William. Got it at Lowe’s but here is an Amazon link. www.amazon.com/DEWALT-Right-Angle-Attachment-Impact/dp/B07NQS465R
@@TheCampoholics Thank you.
will this cover work okay with a fantastic fan?
It will not. You need the one specific for the fantastic fan. I found mine on Etrailer.com. Thanks for watching!
Did this limit your vent cover from going all the way up?
Slightly, doesn’t seem to be an issue. I think about 1/4 inch.
Great video! Why pay the dealer high amounts of money to install it when we can do it ourselves :-)
Indeed!
That was painful
Thanks for watching!
Very Poor lighting
Ok. Thanks for watching, it was outdoors, hope you got something out of it. Have a great day!
