Skincare is an investment and for her to try so many things to be able to pick out the best of the best, I love it! Thank you so much for opening up and sharing this Tati! 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

    The most incredible moisturiser from the drugstore is the Aloe Vera gel moisturiser from L'oreal. I break out really easy and have sensitive skin and it's SO GOOD. I've tried a lot of expensive skincare, it trumps them all. There's a type for every skin type I can imagine it would be great for oily skin since it's oil free, I use the one for dry/sensitive skin.

      I use the L'Oréal hydraboost gel moisturizer and it's amazing! Also use the neutrogena hydro boost under eye gel. I have oily skin but it's extra dry in the winter and this stuff still works better than any cream moisturizer. L'Oréal is great skin care! Honestly skin care is expensive at the drug store, I can't afford tatis routine, tho she did mention a few cheaper options.

      I was going to try this moisturizer but then realized that's all it does. I want something that actually has some active ingredients in it to either lighten discoloration, clear out pores or help to alleviate the fine lines that I've been noticing. I'll keep it on my radar in the event I need more hydration, though. Thanks for bringing it back to my attention!

      You should check out Dr Dray if you haven't already. She's a dermatologist and reviews/recommends lots of drugstore products. No nonsense, just says it how it is and she knows her stuff.

    • @sabbycat3848
      @sabbycat3848 6 років тому +22

      Katherine Wellenbrock Hi! Esthetician here. High end does not equal better. I've tried it all, my clients try it all, and I can tell you that there are drugstore brands that put high end to shame. Some amazing drugstore skincare finds are La Roche Posey and Vichy. I can't recommend a lot of Olay products, but their Olay Complete sensitive skin spf 15 is amazing for light protection under makeup, and the Olay Regenerist micro sculpting cream is great at night. Also, check out Korean beauty brands, they're affordable and have some amazing products. The Laneige water sleeping mask can be found at Sephora and is very affordable at 26 bucks (lasts a long time since you only use it once or twice a week). The Ordinary also has some great, inexpensive products that are very focused on active I ingredients. Vitamin C serum is a must for skin and the best I've found is the C serum from Serumtologie. It's a better than dupe for Skincueticals and is only 35.00. Sorry for the long post, but it kills me to see people unnecessarily spend hundreds on skincare, or skip it bc they think only high end works, when there are so many good, quality, affective choices at the drugstore. A little research of the brands I've mentioned should help you choose what will work best for you. Wear spf DAILY, and drink tons of water! Hope this helps! ☺

    • @sabbycat3848
      @sabbycat3848 6 років тому +9

      Louise Sharpy Hi! I'm an esthetician and can honestly say that so much high end skincare is made with more filler ingredients than active ones than many drugstore brands. It's absolutely not true that high end = better ingredients. Skincare is my career, knowing ingredients is my job so that I can give my clients perfect skin, so trust me on this and don't let that myth keep you from caring for your skin. ☺

      I can't see how it's a problem to ask. She did a drugstore skincare video awhile back so it wouldn't be surprising if she still picks up some more affordable stuff that's good, just not as good as something that's five times the price. Tbh, even just a skincare guide for suggested ingredients or things to avoid would be great that way we can try to see if there's skincare fitting that criteria within our budget. Of course you're right, there's other videos but Tati's guidance means more to a lot of us than many other UA-camrs

    • @kandhforeverable
      @kandhforeverable 6 років тому +6

      Because that is literally her job.... like she says in many of her videos. • @grubadubb4509
      @grubadubb4509 5 років тому +3

      I agree completely. Tati might have used some of that stuff back before she blew up, but Tati can afford the best and that’s why she has gorgeous skin, hair, nails, etc. she can afford to invest in herself. Now, while I agree she shouldn’t be telling people what to buy if she doesn’t use it... I don’t think it’s bad for her to talk about ingredients. She could def point people in the right direction.

No everything is budget friendly for me right now, but I have a list of products you recommend on my phone and when I can, I’ll purchase one to try out. I greatly appreciate you being so honest about products and also giving advice for other products if there is a dupe. So many influencers only talk about the higher end products and that isn’t a reality for a lot of women. You are a super inspiration and I truly appreciate what you do!

      +Lily I personally love CosRx (they sell this korean brand at Ulta) && I also love Heimish, Mizon, and Neogen (I get these off of Amazon). It is crazy to me how amazing korean skincare products are, yet they are so much damn cheaper than the skincare here in the U.S.

    • @skinsciencebymira
      @skinsciencebymira 6 років тому +10

      Kenetrice Nichole I wouldn’t buy any Asian skincare from Ulta or Sephora, they jack the prices way up. Amazon and EBay are cheaper like you said and for Cosrx particularly Jolse is a good site if you can wait a couple weeks for shipping.

    • @skinsciencebymira
      @skinsciencebymira 6 років тому +9

      Elena Poposka Hada Labo, Cosrx, Tosowoong, Benton, The Ordinary, Cerave, and Pixi are all affordable but effective skincare brands.
      I would not waste money on Tati’s overpriced cleansing balm either. The Botanic Farm Grain Ferment Cleansing Balm is amazing and feel really luxe too. Cleansing balms are an Asian thing anyway, US brands are just copying the trend. It’s often $25 but Costco has 2 Plus a mini size for $30.

    Girl, you've gotta try Korean and Japanese makeup removers. The KOSE Softymo Oil Cleanser is so cheap, and gets even the hardest to remove waterproof makeup off. It doesn't leave an oily residue, but doesn't strip your skin. It's so good for such a low price point on Amazon.

    I recently had my fourth child. We call her our surprise baby. She was my second within two years and it really did a number on my body which in turn had a great affect on my self esteem. While I was on maternity leave I stated watching so many of your videos every single day. I have been a fan for some time now but these last few months watching your channel has helped me more than I can explain. When I was feeding the baby, I watched a video. When I was up in the middle of the night, I watched. When the others were driving me crazy, I lock myself in the bathroom and watch a video. The more I kept coming back the more I realize that my confidence was coming back. I started to want to get ready everyday instead of messy hair no makeup and sweats! So now that I’ve learned all these new tips and tricks from you I would love to have some of the great (or even not so great) products that you have set aside. Like I said earlier I do have four kids and it’s hard for me to justify spending money on myself. I know there are 1000s of women that probably deserve and need such a generous gift more than me that do have the funds in anyway to get them, but if I was picked I would be forever grateful. Thanks for the dedication to always tell your truth no matter what.

    I have been watching your video since 2014, when I first came to America for college. You opened my world to UA-cam Beauty Gurus and I started to invest in makeup that you enjoyed. You made me spend so much money 🤪but I actually learned how to do makeup and I don’t even know what is primer back then when I am 18. It was a late start but people started to notice my makeup and I recommend you to them, probably for hundreds of times now. And you are still my favorite and actually the one I watched everyday. You story is so inspiring and I am 21 now and I hope if I works as hard as you and I can be successful like you. It is such a blessing to find a friend and partner who always support and love you as James. I made my boyfriend watch yours couple videos and I found him watched James solo video one day🤩. DipandDab100 agreed! My boyfriend has perfect skin but stress & lack of quality sleep are taking a toll on his under-eye area. And he’s a perfectionist. I don’t mind luxury recommendations, in fact, I prefer them. (I recently got him his first “male” Clarisonic, like James) ☺️ Lots of love, Tati! ☮️❤️

    Any time you use a brush on your skin you are causing exfoliation, especially with a rotating cleansing brush. How else do you think it makes your skin sooo smooth? Other items that cause exfoliation are: makeup brushes, dry brushes, wash clothes, scarves, turtlenecks...anything that cause friction on the skin will remove dead skin buildup.

    • @tiaraburton
      @tiaraburton 6 років тому +1

      Suzi Sears Yes, thank you.

    • @suzisears3490
      @suzisears3490 6 років тому +2

      Naudia- yes the Clarisonic Oscillating will cause some exfoliation. All of the items/tools I mentioned in my previous comment may only cause micro-exfoliation but it’s still causing friction on the skin. People with Sensitive, dry or mature skin need to exfoliate less often as someone with oily/combo skin.

    • @suzisears3490
      @suzisears3490 6 років тому +1

      Naudia Green - you are correct as far as the brush head not rotating! It only moves back and forth. I have a cleansing rotating brush that does rotate continuously, I use it maybe 2x a week

    • @Paulamon92
      @Paulamon92 6 років тому

      Even if not rotating, it'll still exfoliate in some way.

      For GlamGlow, I use Origins Charcoal mask. I bought the travel size, so it’s not very expensive. I am able to spot treat just like she does. And it’s a squeeze tube, so it’s more hygienic.
      And I also love Paul’s Choice. Their toner for dry skin is actually alcohol free (Not even Witch Hazel!)
      You can get a great face moisturizer from Cerave. The night on is more pricey ($12), but it has great ingredients.
      The Ordinary has amazing products.
      I also have found that things like Vitamin C go bad quickly, so I sometimes buy high end products in travel sizes, and run out at the 3 month mark, etc.
      Pixie at Target has wonderful exfoliating products that are less expensive than Paula’s Choice, if your skin can tolerate it. I couldn’t tolerate Glow Tonic even once every few days, so I ended up splurging on something else.
      Reddit’s Skincare Addiction subforum is a great place to learn about what your skin really needs each day, what ingredients do what, and how to find them without breaking the bank, plus asking for help on getting your routine to do what you want (get rid of acne, blackheads, anti-aging, fight dryness, whatever)!

    I don't know why so many people are complaining and asking her to make a drugstore version. She clearly doesn't use a lot of stuff from the drugstore for skin and quite frankly you get what you pay for when it comes to skincare products. I'd much rather invest and spend the money on great products than to be cheap and buy something that's not good for my skin at all. There are plenty of other people who have made drugstore skincare videos, so go watch them if that's what you're interested in. Tati just isn't that girl🤷🏻‍♀️

      Cindy Schneble I go to my one health food store by me that has a good Derma E selection and I like toners from them. I am normally drugstore skin care person. Some of those prices were way too much for me. I like products from Derma-E. I even like Dickenson's Witch Hazel.

    I can honestly say that you are one of the only youtubers I have come across in so many years to be unfailingly honest. You share your life with us through youtube and that along with your insane dedication to posting so frequently is amazing. You're pretty much one of three youtubers I have the notifications alert on for so I always know the moment you've posted a new video!
    Thank you for being so thorough, honest and kind

    I love it so much omg! I’m so glad James finally started realizing how amazing it is to invest in your skin! I’ve been with my boyfriend for 3 years and he is the same way! I’ve only JUST got him in to using a Paul Mitchell men’s shampoo. Next step will Be skincare but he is so stubborn! Lol

      Gabrielle Zavaleta This is because they are MEN. Why are we trying to change them? Dry, cracked skin is different, but don't we like their ruggedness?

    Stop crying about not being able to afford these products.. these are HER favourite products. Nothing else.
    I'm sure she'll make a drugstore one anyway... but that's not the point of this video.

      But in saying that, skincare is the ONE thing you should be splurging on. For me personally drugstore stuff just doesn’t do anything, even though I thought it was (I went to an esthetician and she was like “girl no stop using that” 😂)
