Hey all! I just built this golf app where you can get exclusive lessons from the world's greatest golf coaches. It's been the biggest game changer to helping me improve, and wanted everyone to be able to do the same. Check it out here! caddyai.io/
Not going to lie, this dude changed my game for the better. Been following along with the lessons, best advice on swing mechanics out there. Keep working at!
The second part after 13 mins he is talking about the pete cowan spinning the arms down. It makes so much sense as when you do it right your hips clear as a bi product of the downward pressure of the "spinning arms" its really interesting to hear all the great teachers explain the same principles but in different ways
That' what I thought, too. The video Pete Cowen teaching Danny Maude to spin the right arm down changed my Golfswing forever. m.ua-cam.com/video/iP0sBzIXRtc/v-deo.html&pp=ygUWRGFubnkgbWF1ZGUgcGV0ZSBjb3dlbg%3D%3D
One thing we all have to remember when working on feels and changes it doesn't matter how you hit it. Many times here he topped it but his "movements" were spot on.
This is very true but difficult when working on a busy driving range. Ego enters in and stirs the minds chatter, distracting us from being present with our intentions and objectives. We get caught up in our thoughts about making every shot look good for those around us. By the end of the bucket we realize we've just pounded a bunch of balls without really focusing on a drill or particular movement (the objective in going to the range). Subconsciously we don't want to snake or shank shots and leave people with the impression we aren't very good golfers. God forbid.🥴😖
Great instructor.. Swing looks great bro! Amazing that I've been playing for 30yrs and your swing looks 100 times better than mine.. Proves how valuable good instruction is
Awesomeness! You are very close to a pro swing now and you have worked hard to get here with the help of the genius coach Dana. Great to see the progress!
I have been following you for a couple of months and learned so much👍 l I am too old to start learning to golf my neighbor stated as he has been playing for 30 years. But I have been practicing 1 hour or more everyday and following your videos and now I can drive the ball further and way more accurate and now my 7 iron is my friend!. Thank you so much and hope to see you have 500,000 subscribers🙏👍
The movement he was trying to get his player to achieve was done correctly. Hes not worried about the outcome yet. This is why I hate position based instruction, his movements will very slowly get better, but he still has no idea how to be athletic and swing with speed.
@Jerome Rufin the feeling you are describing is the arms coming access your chest. Look up the Athletic Motion Golf "arm depth" podcast video. Basically your arms/wrist are always in front of you, within your shoulder frame. Your arms and wrist are past your right shoulder at the top of the back swing. You are correct in your self-diagnosis, you are pinning your arms to your chest!
I've been following along and was having the same issues when trying not to pronate my arms on the takeaway...and here is the fix! Dana is the man. I'm loving you channel and Dana is my favorite coach so far.
Directional Cheat. Put your trail hand flat on your chest. Use your fingers as pointers towards target/direction but change your direction by moving your feet only and not turning your head. Just glance out the side of with your eyes with a slight turn of head. Turning your head too much will throw off the aim. Practice in house and see how much each step will make major changes in swing and ball flight direction.
Thank you for the toll comment. Just had hip surgery January. Mailman 29 years. walk 13 1/2-17 miles daily. Plus 44 years bodybuilding. Takes a toll. Was a freak in my 20's. Back to range, concerned if I lost my hip turn. Hit irons fairly well. Wish 8 had your instruction. Love you #1 as an instructor.
Im just now noticing and i could be wrong but i think we play almost the same irons 😂😂. I play the p790 w project x IO 6.0 110g shafts w golf pride cp2 jumbo grips. Never was a big Taylormade guy until my fitter friend put them in my hand and said "you will play with these today or you won't play" lol. I have to say one of the best irons I've ever put in my bag. Loving these lessons they are an absolute chefs kiss of info. This is all the stuff I've been working on recently so it's extremely helpful Edit: "Tommy Fleetwood draws balls"-Dana big D.😂😂😂
I'm in the category Dana talked about at the end. I so want to see a video on that subject. It's so difficult when your mind says oh yeah I can do that. And then your body gives you the middle finger and says in not so many words not today. I'm 45 and dealing with injuries is the worst. Especially when they are self inflicted without even knowing it.
Dam! That swing is looking awesome - especially when you keep your head from moving forward. I still see your right bias creeping into your alignment every once in a while. Dana is the man.
Great progress! Just an observation, take it for what it’s worth… it seems like when your coach wants you focus on one thing, like the elbow, you shift your focus to something else, like the club position. It may be difficult, but try to focus on only the thing the coach is focused on. Integrate that, then perfectionist.
New sub here... I love what your coach is doing and your doing phenomenal !!! Not sure what he was teaching Bryson, but happy it's not what he is teaching you... Good luck bro... your a good dude!
Scoring lines are the parallel grooves on the clubface. They should be perpendicular to the target line. Don't look at the clubhead shape, which is curved. Line up the scoring lines perpendicular to your target.
Try a caddy drag to start your swing. It's rhythmic, the body swings first and actually very easy and effective, plus it will not be negative in any way to your swing. When he is a zero handicap that will be it, as I would call that scratch. Very nice slo-mo at 15:49, notice how still your body is as your arms swing down around your body. Great positioning. and angles, without thinking about it too much.
35:20 Dana referencing Arnold, Dorian Yates, and Ronnie Coleman is awesome lol. Check out Dorian Yates' Blood and Guts to see the hardcore workouts he's talking about avoiding for golf lol
First, congrats on your progress. Seeing your journey is really interesting. I've been thinking about making a channel for my journey to restarting playing. I took off 16 years and it feels like I'm basically starting over again. Any recs for starting a channel?
Hey Jerome, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and repurpose your long videos into highly engaging shorts? I can also make high CTR thumbnails for your channel
I don't agree that weight lifting hurts you. It makes you stronger, if done correctly, and that translates to a better golf swing. I met 3 brothers. The oldest was 80 and lifted weights. He outdrove his younger siblings by 20+ yards.
Fact is Dana is so good...I do wonder how or why he got so far away from the S&T method which he was once a big proponent of. i guess the same could be said about grant waite
Arms are getting stuck behind the body - left arm is stuck "pulling the handle" which causes inconsistent contact. Once you initially pivot your right elbow of your arm should already be in front of your right hip to release. I understand dana has you in a specific pattern though. I think your take away should resemble the right arm elbow fold instead the arms looking to separate when you takeaway. I say this because you are athletic and you wont have to try to manipulate the wrists. Guys that have to use the wrists are relying on timing more than anything. IMO. Your takeaway sets up how you release change it cause Dana has got you moving awesome!
@@LuciusGraciusMaximus I understand that some pros use an app where you can video your swing and get instruction feedback from that pro. I think it's relatively less expensive than full one-on-one lessons, and you can get maybe 5-10 short swing analysis for a set price - perhaps not much more than a single full lesson. And you can spread the swing analyses over time - maybe several months. It's sort of like short tune ups to your golf swing.
I'm curious why you never used the range ball that was closest. Kinda drove me nuts. Also, when you set up the next ball, don't tap in down with your foot. You want a good lie, the ball kinda up on top of the grass, nor nestled down in it. Amateur golfers are goofy.
Its for good golfers who already knkw how to swing a club and hit a golf ball very well Absolutely USELESS to anybody who is a beginner/high handicapper just like 90% of youtube golf instruction
Looks like you went completely away from Mike Wydruff's teachings. I don't see the bowed wrist, and Dana sounds like he wants that to happen on the downswing, something Mike said was optional, but difficult. Dana's talking about controlling the face angle, but Mike's method it was automatic. Seems like you decided to change your swing.
Bruno does not pass to hoiland because his first touch is poor in a crowded area and his link up play no better. He is better running on to balls. every goal pretty much that way. Until he improves he can cry about it but not going to change. This is not a world class striker by any means today and pretty raw and average in many parts of the game that needs to improve.

@JeromeRufin just curious. How much did his lessons cost? $200/ hour?
Turning that lead hip back on the downswing and not letting it come up (early extension or humping the ball) is the key
