    I think obviously most of the lesson are specified for you problems on your swing, however, this lesson was so cool because it's for every level! For a high handicap like me I completely love this one. Thanks and keep the grind 🙌

    These lessons with Dana have helped me more than any lessons I've studied before. I'm a high single digit handicap struggling to be consistent with my woods, long and mid irons. But I have seen significant improvement since after your first video with Dana. I'm very appreciative of these lessons.

    What a process. Dana took everything that you learned from him and others and gave you the Pro Move. Now picture your course hole laid over this practice range. If they go on this draw path, on most holes, they'll be in the trees or cart path, but that's what he wants you to do unless you turn your body to compensate for the draw path. That way you don't think its a pull/push/hook/slice. One swing. One direction-Just like the band!

    Great coach you have there. If you see this comment I’d recommend you hold your finish for a second or two longer and watch the ball land, especially when you hit it ok or well. You won’t see any good players recoil quickly after the finish already thinking about the next shot. Stand there and soak in the decent shots briefly. It’ll help train your nervous system to know it is free to actually go left on the way down because it knows you stand left at the finish all the time anyway. It’ll also help the feedback while you’re learning go into your mind more deeply as you watch the results fly and land rather than racing to the next shot. The only other thing I’d say is that almost everyone will tell you being analytical is bad. It’s not bad, it’s an advantage as long as you are in control of it and can discern when the right time to turn analysis on or off is. Best of luck and great channel. 👍

    You def think too much about what you’re doing wrong and try to dive too deep into that rather than keeping things as simple as possible and focus on just the feelings when you hit a good one and trying to replicate that feeling. Your go from hitting one great then you hit one not so good and you try to dissect exactly what you did wrong instead of moving on and forgetting it. Dana is a great coach and I can tell he’s picking up on that and gives great advice and tries to break things down simply

    • @XingCollectables
      @XingCollectables 2 місяці тому

      some people need to break down what went wrong to get better though. Not every brain works the same. So, him trying to decipher what went wrong isn't that big of a deal, but he does need to focus on feeling a bit more and overthink later when watching the videos and pick that apart instead.

  • @brianschultz7320
    @brianschultz7320 4 місяці тому +1

    At 48:00 - I feel like one reason u don’t get much lag is because your arms/wrists seem very tense. If you grip the club a bit more looser and let your body relax you will generate lag without trying to. Im also biased towards a slightly more cupped wrist like in Adam Scott/Rorys swing. When your wrist gets too bowed you can’t release the club and it forces you to hold angles and rotate really hard. I’m not sure if you’ve ever played tennis but it’s the same concept. Your arms and wrists need to be really loose to generate lag and effortless power.

Took a second to let that comment ruminate just now and yes, you are improving as a golfer, recieving feed back, applying said feedback, still being all up in your head, but Dana is using that 2x4 just enough to knock you back out of your head and into practical application ... you're just getting better!! Jerome, thanks for making this video. I started swinging this way naturally after reading Ben Hogan, and it ruined my golf swing in a way. I would come through like Dana describes with the hands "stuck behind", and the face was always wide open. I've hit thousands of balls, and never missed a single one left. I would pour through my own recordings, and UA-cam instructional videos trying find out out what piece I was missing, but it's hard to find information tailored to a problem like this. It looks like it might be Dana's delofting move with the left wrist.
    I'm going to have to work on that one. Cheers.

  • @ivwshane

    So Jerome, would you say that for this lesson Dana was trying to get your swing to feel more natural with more natural whipping of your arms (which I imagine feels like lag)? To me it reminds me of when we were kids and you let your arms be loose and you would rotate your body back in forth and just let your arms swing by themselves. So as you stop rotating your arms then whip to the direction you were rotating to and your upper body now goes in the opposite direction. I hope that makes sense.
    For my own golf journey I’m now at the point where I try to have as few swing thoughts as possible and I’m now just trying to let my body do its thing naturally. However I’m certainly not as fluid and loose as you appeared to be when using the speed trainer.

    • @ryanshafer10
      @ryanshafer10 2 місяці тому

      This was the one thing he doesn't say I picked up from another video. When you push up and forward in the backswing on your right leg your right hip is fully back and your weight moves forward. Your front leg will take the weight and then your DRIVE YOUR LEFT HIP BACK to bring the right hip through. The harder you push up and back you will create more room for you to come through from the inside. The ONLY thing you do with your arms is supinate the wrist (glove logo down and away from you) to control the club face. Once you have loaded everything in the backswing all the power comes from how hard you can push up and back with your left leg/hip. Exactly why Scottie does the jump back and Bryson talks about the only thing you have to generate power is the ground and he has thighs like tree trucks and a huge dumptruck

Thats what makes these videos so tough, there is a ton of excellent information in this video but doing what another guy does will never make you better unless you are brand , brand new to golf ⛳. Otherwise you are probably wasting your time and walking your natural swing farther away from its true form.

    For a start, the shaft needs to be forward at setup, therefore dropping the trail side of the body. At impact, you simply should increase shaft lean a bit. The hands at transition work straight down toward the trail foot, creating a lateral hip motion to start the swing. You can't push off the trail foot, as that would get your hips out in front, and you're forced to get the hands in front to make up the deficit. You push down into the trail foot, not off of it. But it all starts with setting up with the shaft forward to start.

    Tiger never thought about what the body does, he just makes sure the hands moves the club to the ball then release, the body facilitates this, it would look like he tries to use his body. Because of this illusion of intention, instruction is now body-focused.
    Dana talks about this when he talks about some player's feels when they feel only the arms moving first (but it doesn't happen). Try the Pete Cowen stuff, it's the secret, it's all in the arms/hands.
    I hit the ball almost pga tour average distance, tiny draw, with traditional blades and I feel I only use the arms.

      @@naj959Because he's not a good coach for a beginner, in my opinion. Entirely internally focused with lots of jargon. He has created a swing now where the hips spin out (because he thinks he needs to actively weight shift) and arms and club are trailing causing horrible club face control.

      @@auriferous4462 the fact that you put "I hit the ball pga tour averages with a tiny draw using traditional blades says it all". Gotta love those qualifications. Will you be playing at Valhalla this week? Should I put some money on you to win? I'd love to see how fast you got Jerome to a plus handicap. Probably only a matter of days in your hands.

      @@auriferous4462 if you can't see how much Dana is trying to dumb down the information, I don't know what to tell you. 3 basic feels. If contact isn't there nothing else matters. Jerome's biggest obstacle is he wants to over analyze everything. Just how he's wired. But he seems to be getting better.. Instructor can only lead a horse to water.

      He is saying exactly what Pete Cowan says. Spinning the arms down. Deloft and that works if you can clear your hips and rotate quick enough which he can do. When he was trying to get him to hit it left it's the same as what cowen says. All these people saying he is stuck. He is not stuck at all, the deloft and pressure down makes your brain want to clear otherwise your brain tells you body it's going to hit itself.

    Love this video. Your ability to narrate the video is phenomenal. Your ability to communicate with the instructor is still a struggle. Get rid of the word “like” in your vocabulary to communicate better. You’re smashing these irons now. So much better than that when you first started with that instructor that somehow tries to teach on hitting mats, how’s that even possible? That guy was horrible.

    Dude u say to much after u hit instead of keeping swinging until u feel it once u hit one good!! Now u have to feel that sensation basically from scratch again!!! Love the channel but hit the dang napit ball!!! 😂

    I think you overthinking the swing, so once you fix something you think to much of the mechanics and get something out of aligment. The 1 thing that kills most amateurs is overthinking their swing.

    When you are hot...all the tiny muscles will compensate and accomodate to make you so called " consistent" ...and feel that you are on something. Tomorrow its all gone 🤭
