Michael Keaton did a cameo as the same character in the movie Out of Sight, also based on an Elmore Leonard novel, and starring George Clooney, Ving Rhames, Jennifer Lopez, and a very long list of well known actors. It's a pretty fun movie.
Out of Sight really is a pretty good movie. Good call on that one, dude.
@@Charles-yt5ve Thanks, dude! 😆
Double down, dudes! Good film
My favorite Tarantino film!
"This Max is the cherry on top!" And that's why he's called Max Cherry!
Here's a funny little Filipino connection for Joy: Pam Grier, the actress who plays Jackie Brown - she really began her career by doing movies in the Philippines!
The song "Long Time Woman" that you hear in this reaction video when Jackie Brown goes to jail between 7:10-7:25, is actually Pam Grier singing it, the song was originally from her first Filipino movie called The Big Doll House (1971).
Pam Grier also did 4 other movies in the Philippines: Women In Cages (1971), The Twilight People (1972), The Big Bird Cage (1972), and Black Mama, White Mama (1973). 😂
seriously? wow! i did not know anything about her 😅
@@MJoy4Funif you're interested in her more, then you should watch her most famous movie Coffy (1973) - some consider her to be the first real female action star in american cinema.
Also I would love you to watch or maybe even react to a documentary called: The Search For Weng Weng (2007). It tells the story of Weng Weng, the most famous action movie star from Philippines.
Yes, don' t forget The Big Doll House (I have it on DVD)-another one of those Blaxploitation films. All of those were produced under B Movie master, Roger Corman, and Sig Haig was also in most of those with her as well as Foxy Brown and Coffy and on and on. I read an interview with QT who wanted to reunite Pam and Sid after decades of working together, so he made Sid play the Judge. No one on the production told Pam that the Judge would be her good friend and costar Sid. So when he called "Action", Pam lost it and fouled up the first take. Everyone laughed and QT said it was a happy surprise.
This film has a great soundtrack.
This is one of my favorite slow-burn films ever made, it has a very distinct flow and despite some of the darker aspects I find it a very comforting, relaxing movie, perfect to play in the background when I'm doing things around the house.
Love this one, up there with Pulp Fiction. It doesn't get the respect it deserves.
This was the third one, after Dogs and Pulp.
5:30 that's Uncle Jack from Breaking Bad right there, peeps.
Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and Jackie Brown are the 3 best Tarantino movies, IMO.
Same! 90s Tarantino was peak for me. I've enjoyed his later films, but they became a just a tad too cartoonish and self-indulgent for my taste
My favorite Tarantino movie is Pulp Fiction
@haz
I’d agree with that without a doubt. For me, Jackie Brown is his most complete & mature film. After this most of his films have been more style over substance.
@@lukebarton5075 Many feel that way mostly because the story was based on a novel already written by the author Elmore Leonard. Not an original QT story, but he did a great job of turning it into a movie. True Romance, on the other hand, is based on an original script written by him. Even though Tony Scott directed it, most agree that it certainly has that QT "feel" and dialog. For me, I still consider True Romance a QT film.
So much great dialogue in this movie
That's Tarantino for ya lol
Loved your reaction, and I love this movie!
Robert De Niro is hilarious in this movie hahahaha
This is my favorite Tarantino film. Pam Grier is the boss.
Tarantino's best film.
Love this movie. Tarantino struck gold here because he humbled himself enough to adapt another writer's work (Elmore Leonard). He can be a little self-indulgent when he writes for himself, like talking to himself. Even though I love his movies, this is a cut above the rest of them.
A must, "True Romance" - Tarantino's script, which he sold to fund his first movie, Reservoir Dogs.
Yes please put this movie in your review queue; it's a fun wild ride with plenty of twists and turns like a rollercoaster.!
One of the Best movies
I had forgot that Ray Nicolet was in this movie! .... That's "Out Of Sight"! 😅
She was mentioned in reservoir dogs as a huge b movie star, with Honey West and Cristie Love, ur under arrest,Sugar!! She's Pam Grier! She wanted a part in pulp fiction but Quentin said, im writing a part for u! It was this!
Underrated QT.
Love you two… 💙🥂
thank you!
Game Over! LOL! I love that!
thanks for reaction
Elmore Leonard has some great film adaptations, this, Out of Sight, 3:10 to Yuma, Get Shorty. And some other not-so-good ones.
Ah, this should be good! 😁
My favorite Tarantino film
Check out american gangster with denzel Washington and russell crow
Pam Greer is in cool movie called “Above the Law” too
RIP Max Cherry
Coolll movie 👊🏻
She was sad at the end because Max did not go with her. As well as a crime and heist movie it's all romance too.
Nice reaction. For another in a similar vein you guys should watch “Get Shorty”
It’s based on a book by Elmore Leonard who also wrote Rum Punch, the book of Jackie Brown.
Everytime Marion says “game over,” take a shot of your favorite whiskey. 🥃
good luck 😅
The best ✌️
Ahhh yes!!! Tarantino's best movie ever. IMHO it's because Tarantino did not write it. It was adapted from the novel.Rum Punch by the great Elmore Leonard. And it is the most believable of Tarantino's movie. Btw. This is Tarantino's 3rd movie.
Brigitte fonda was so beautiful.xx
*Bridget😊
Not really a fan of Tarantino movies but i like Jackie Brown
"Looooooooou-issssssss?"
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I would still say this is Tarantino's most underrated movie, but so many people have said that for years now that it's a popular opinion, so it's simply a another great damn Tarantino movie!
I will say that De NIro's performance is underrated, especially for its comedy.
I'd love to see Michael Jackson play Ordell:
"It's Jack-ee-heee Brown!"
Jackie wasn't gonna be lose end like Beaumont
Max did not take the money from Simone.
A movie with Michael Keaton in it I feel you'd enjoy is a slow burning thriller called 'Pacific Heights' that came out in 1990.
Beetlejuice!
good similar:
"The Italian Job" (2003 remake)
"The Ladykillers" (2004 remake)
"Payback" (1999)
"Parker" (2013)
"Heist" (2001)
"Smokin' Aces" (2006)

The sequel:
"Out of Sight" (1998)
33:00 But again, Quentin didn't write this!!!
he did not write jackie brown?
Sometimes l wish you guys would stop trying to predict everything in the movie and just sit back and enjoy.
this is how we enjoy the movie. Thank you.
@@MJoy4Fun fair enuff. Cheers
Instead of thinking up conspiracies y'all just need to play closer attention during the movies. Especially you Marion.
pay attention to what? the narrative, the plot. the score, the film making, the lightning, cinematography, the acting? everybody seems to tell us what we need to do when we react. Some says "less reacting", some says "we focus too much on the narrative"... we love what we do. we love discovering films. We react to it how we see a movie for the first time . We might not get it right away, but that is okay. Nobody gets everything from watching the movie for the first time, unless they are lying to you. 😁
Its a real shame you can only focus on the narrative. There is so much creativity in the film making but you never mention any of it because you are struggling to grasp the plot.
The entire story in the Mall is seen from the POV of various characters. That's genius film making.
Ligjting, score, cinematography, acting... none get a mention.
Shame.
It’s for reasons like this, I’ve sought out more reactors who might focus on more of the filmmaking and not so much the story. I think they have their charm and so I don’t ask them to change. I just find more reactors!
We watch and react to this movie for the FIRST TIME! We had no idea about the plot and the characters, so if we don't follow closely, why are we even watching it in the first place? We have to watch it a second time to appreciate everything Quentin did in this movie, filmography, and cinematography-wise.
8:00 omg youre a genius joy. I didnt even think of that!!!!
22:44 HESSSSSS SUNSTABLE?!?!?!?!! no hes a warrior. And she fucked with the wrong person. Shr should have stayed in her little place. Cmon now....m wtf? Unstable??!?!?!?!?!?!!? This is normal behavior for a guy whos alrwady willing to kill you any mf way?!?!?!?! Cmon now...😮😂😂😂😂😂
