Except Until Dawn and Telltale at least had quicktime events and let you move characters around. This is just a dialogue tree w/ seemingly little consequences.

Vicen-T its like the telltale game series, incredibly fun series by the way. Your choices affect the ending you get, theres like 6-10 different endings also. Story is excellent and unlike this game, you can at least move around to some extent and do quick time events/actions

For those who haven't played Until Dawn, it's an awesome game. As long as there are some running, puzzle, and collectible mechanics like in UD in this to go along with the talking simulator, it could be just as good.
There won't be. They have outright stated that it is only going to be making these decisions. What you see in this video is what you get for complete gameplay. You will never have control over any one character to make them move around, interact with objects, etc.
Having useless and awkward controls like a Telltale game or not having it at all it's the same. So it's still good.

UD has puzzles?
Tallen Smith I would call having to figure out clues and totem vision meaning to get the "right outcome" puzzlish. I could understand if someone didn't agree. I enjoyed that part of it though.
Big fan of the films so I'm interested. I'm not concerned with the choose your story gameplay they are going with. I read it's suppose to be 2-3 hours and you play as humans and apes so I highly doubt the game is $60. It's most likely going to fall in the $20-30 just for the cinematic feels and the visuals alone. Plus the game will have great replayability . But we will have to wait and see.

2-3 hours, a couple choices per minute, no real gameplay, different outcomes, literally just a movie where you make the choices. motion captured everything, made by movie developers, legit movie writers, photorealistic as can be. takes place in between Dawn and War, about 1 year after the events of Dawn

This game is literally a movie, I looked it up. It's made by the cgi company Andy serkis owns. The game is set to be around 2 to 3 hours, but on the upside it will add much more replayability as every choice drastically changes, and the graphics will supposedly be photorealitic, keep in mind it's still in development. It's literally supposed to be an interactive film, absolutely zero character control, this is the game. It's a cool concept since I love films. It better not be more than 30 dollars though.

I was hoping it would kinda be like a survival game. Choosing either the Apes or humans and trying to form your base while in constant threat of being attacked like in the movies. :(

It's funny, after I saw war for the planet of the apes, I thought hey they should make a game, a month later I see the thumbnail. I was excited asf I watched it, very dissapointed. I was hoping they put action in it. And gameplay of course ign is dumb for putting "gameplay" in the title but...
this is the gameplay. it's just so limited in interactivity that it hardly looks like a game.
To everyone who hasn't caught on yet... This is actual gameplay, it's not a shooter it is a choice based cinematic adventure type of game like Telltale titles.

God damnit man, was so excited, but it's just another tell tale type game. Was thinking it could be some sort of exploration-ish game that involves "creating" and expanding the race of apes. Woulda been so much better.

I am okay with games that play like TellTale however, I'm disappointed because I thought this game would be like a third person game or an open world game, not just choosing dialogue and picking up things! Had the opportunity to make a great Planet of the Apes game that was more like Last of Us however, hopefully it looking like Until Dawn, it's as good!

This is a 6 minute video, practically a cutscene where you change your decisions. It's more than likely there will be gameplay that requires stealth and combat.

This is set between Dawn and War if I'm not mistaken. I'm putting it after War for the Planet of the Apes: Revelations as those events take place right after Dawn so I'm guessing the timeline looks like this:

Hector Diaz it's not done yet. This game is made by Andy serkis cgi company he owns. The game is not a game, but literally a movie. You can't even move around, and it will be around 2 to 3 hours. This is a professional cgi company, and because they only have to render what on screen and no controller input, the final product will be photo realistic, just like the films.

I think the idea of a choose your own planet of the apes style game is brilliant. Everytime I watch the reboots I keep thinking about the ethics and morals of the choices made between apes and humans. is there a way to really keep peace or does nature demand one or the other? Now I have a chance to answer these questions with what seems to be a promising project with talent and skill behind it.
For heavens sake, even the PC game was better than this, just what is this, exactly: not gameplay nor is it a game

Would've been dope if they put it like the Terminator Salvation arcade game. Remember having to shoot certain spots of a boss in that game to defeat them? They could've definitely done that. Like it would be cool if you could choose between humans or the apes, go around shooting humans/apes just as the story progresses. Just like those arcade shooters do. Like you wouldn't have to worry about movement because it's automatic. If this is confusing, look up "Terminator Salvation arcade".
